beautiful build and flight i am addicted to building rubber powered simple designs to see how they fly i like stick fuselage the best so if it winds up getting grabbed up by a tree its not a big loss lol
Nice work! There is nothing quite like an ounce of balsa zipping past your ear at 40 mph! You got the launch trim just about perfect...I would have tried a gurney strip on the top of the stab to slow it down during transition.... Next time!
Well, you got a thumbs up from me! Although i like a bit mor of a elliptical wing & tail. Did you ever find it? Keep it up! You know it's a good plane when it goes O.O.S. (out of sight)! Laramie.
Well after almost a week, the plane was discovered in the farm stuck between sunflower plantations. The farmer came with the plane to return to us a few days back. It is under repair now and will be in action soon. I am also trying some other large wingspan all-balsa gliders. Somehow at the range of 24-33” these catapult gliders have a nice floaty flight. Maybe that has to do with the substantial wing chords. They are mostly 4” to 5” in dimension
Hi, I know the comet 18" is based on the comet by keil kraft but can you provide the blueprints? I want to make it for fun! I've read the forum post by ; praty ; and I wish to make it too! I'm fairly new to making balsa gliders but I have a lot of time Edit: hello! I know it's extremely rude to ask for your hard work after so much expiriment for basically, no payment at all. This is very inconsiderate of me but can I have the plans ? Sorry for the troubles! Regards
You will find the blueprint in the same forum. I posted it under Praty. The drawings are for 24” wingspan. You can scale it down while getting it printed
It must be a great feeling to deign and build your own model and on top of it to see it fly so well. Rubber power is really a challenging activity. Some day I hope to get closer to that beautiful flight!
Very nice to see someone from India in this aeromodelling hobby. We cannot start manufacturing a modern jet without our children being interested in this hobby. Unfortunately the critical parts such as FAI sport rubber are not available in India.
Nice flights. Just finished putting together a couple of HLG’s from kits sitting in my shop for years now. What time of day are you flying as the air looks remarkably “Dead”. Where I’m at with any sun or heat if I got a high launch like your are getting it would fly to the next state. And I’m too lazy to use a dethermalizer.
Very kind of you to share flying planes with the children, you inspire and plant seeds of curiosity and thought and wonder. You've done more than fly a balsa airplane, you have blessed others with your skills. Don't forget undercamber.
Its rare to see children nowadays that gets excited and joy over small things. Kids nowadays already playing mobile games and hitech gadgets so they lose that childhood excitement Specially in metro cities and towns
🛑🛫📖🛬🛑 In this day of high-priced and very expensive R/C planes, helios & drones, your video took me on a walk back in time to my start as an aspiring kid that wanted nothing more than to be a pilot. Breathed a lot of balsa dust and was always peeling dried glue off my fingers. Tried my hand at the catapult and also the little CO2 engines to assist take off. A career consisting of 29,000 flight hours of so many different aircraft And you made me look back at how it all started. Really miss the old hobby shops where you could walk in and be awed by the selection of choices. Today I find it difficult to find good balsa anywhere. Best Regards Thanks for sharing 🛫📖🛬🇺🇸🐆
True. This is a amongst the most pure and elegant hobby. I am absolutely hooked to it since when I was very young. Yes, the old hobby shops are all but gone
