These are some test flights I did of the 36" wingspan rubber powered model airplane. I am still trying to trim the craft to get more lift while trying different settings!
Yes, thats the joy of flying in the village grounds. Yes, Rainbow is quite a beauty. But to get more out of it had to add some wash-outs on the wing tips and increased the wing dihedral slightly, with ample help from the gang at the RCforum www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3889751-Rubber-Powered-help-needed-in-trimming#post47091027 BTW have learnt a lot from your youtube videos. They are very instructive! carved a balsa propellor exactly like you explained!
Its rare to see children nowadays that gets excited and joy over small things. Kids nowadays already playing mobile games and hitech gadgets so they lose that childhood excitement Specially in metro cities and towns
Really Nice landing at the end of the video. You can use winder from manual hand drill and tube blast to protect the unit from rubber blast when winding
Yes. That was nice to watch. Most models tip over on to their noses when they land. Hope the enthusiastic children did not damage it. I once had big holes pushed by eager fingers through a wing
I got everything from US. From easybuilt. So thats the trouble. So what I have started doing now is that I now make my own models based on some classic designs fromouterzone.co.uk/index.asp . A great resource for plans. I buy balsa wood of various thickness. I then cut or strip the balsa based on design. Now I even carve my own propellor from balsa. There are many RU-vid tutorials for the same. So practically I am now self sufficient to pursue freeflight. The joy is in sourcing various things from different places. It’s more fun that ways
I really really want the rubber bands in India. Please tell me there is a way to get the TAN FAI bands here in India. I am looking for it everywhere. I am staying in Chennai. Thanks for letting me know.
Hi. I got it from US as one of my friend was travelling to India. I really do not know where to get them here. Best is to order the rubber pack from easybuilt or some such site and have someone get it for you. The rubber that comes with this pack will be of different sizes and will last you for quite sometime
I am in Baroda, India. No I am not a member of rcindia forum. i am a hardcore freeflight enthusiast; chuck, catapult and rubber. Thats what I work on and hope to start on DLG soon
