Telekom Electronic Beats TV is one of the longest running video platforms for quality Electronic Music, starting with a show on Viva 2 (German Music TV) in 2002, before launching the highly popular Slices DVD Magazine in March of 2005 and later becoming Electronic Beats TV again which went fully online on RU-vid in 2012. Since we paved the way for this kind of electronic music related video content two decades ago the world of artist and label focused features and studio sneak peeks has grown exponentially with many other following suit with the format we championed in our early days. Over the years we’ve delivered a wide variety of content for our viewers, from our popular Blind Test series to Tech Talks, documentaries, B-Sides, Artist / Label features and Live Videos featuring established artists and newcomers alike. And the story goes on....
I saw a few of these blind tests before and already wondered why new beat was missing and here it is. I was 15 or 16 when most of these tracks came out and for several tracks just a few seconds were enough to know what it was but the archive in my head ain't as big as those of the attenders ofcourse. I would've picked Celcius instead of Hysteria from Amnesia tho as it was less known while it's still a great track.
Im quite a fanatic music enjoyer and my friends always ask me why i like certain electronic tracks. Even if theyre pretty weird. I always say "it sounds like the producer(s) were having fun while making it". I got all my friends hyped on Savas Pascalidis - Superman. Fun song. Odd one as well, in a good way.
I usually don't like that glitchy house stuff and the rest of Akufens album, but Skidoos (and Installations) are two of my alltime favourites! The base is just incredible. The 35 Hz wave just killed my living room
The interesting thing is: all of these records are great but sound completely nostalgic and outdated - but if you look at the Dub Techno version of this format the dub stuff sounds like it was made just yesterday. Shows again how genius and timeless the Basic Channel stuff was and is.
