Nuno Costa, better known to most under his VIL guise is a prominent figure on the Portuguese Techno scene.
For this Electronic Beats Tech Talk we took a trip over to his studio in the capital of his homeland, Lisbon, which he shares with a few other local producer friends.
From this space VIL crafts his often Dub tinged Techno and in the past this material has found a home on reputable imprints such as Damon Wild’s Synewave Records out of New York, Ben Klock’s Klockworks, Israel’s Be As One and Dutch techno staple Planet Rhythm amongst others. VIL also co-runs the Hayes label alongside fellow Portuguese artists Temudo and Menosdois.
As well as his numerous endeavours as a producer and label owner, VIL has grown to become heavily in demand as a DJ over the years, touring internationally to bring his raw and distinctive style across many of Europe’s leading clubs and festivals.
