Welcome to the My Alaska (Formally Alaska's Last Frontier Homestead). I am located in the foothills of "the Great One" Mt. Denali in South Central Alaska. Come along with me as I build my homestead in the wilds of Alaska. I also have a cabin where I spend a lot of weekends having fun. My remote cabin is completely off-grid and off the road system. My homestead is on-grid and located in beautiful Willow Alaska.
That’s when I find it best to walk away for a while and come back with a clear calm head and if it happens again that lumber is a pile of ash in my driveway.
I love to garden. I was in wv had a huge beautiful garden. I'm in fl now I can't get a tomato to grow i tried 6 bushes and nothing not even 1.. My dream is to one day have a cabin or tent living in Alaska been on radar for 4 yrs. How would a single lady come find her a cabin off grid. I was scammed 5 yrs ago badly when I tried to do it on line rent place sight unseen.
That's a shame you can't get anything to grow. What I tell people is to never buy sight unseen in Alaska. There's a whole list of reasons. Fly into Anchorage and rent an rv. You can take that around and see the areas to look at potential properties. Some things to do ahead of time: research the areas you want to live, make a list of must haves such as near medical, electric, or whatever, extreme cold, tons of snow or little snow, etc. If you want to live minimally or off-grid, start getting rid of stuff you don't need. And finally, and probably the most important, make sure you watch all of my videos. Ha ha.
Good morning Bill, I’ll be interested to see how your garden comes out. Gardens always interest me and I keep thinking I should do one. So it’s fun to see how other peoples do and perhaps I’ll get motivated to do with myself one of these years.
Just a note. On Dewalt drills and impacts there's usually a silver clip where you can hand them upside down from a pocket or a belt. Would've given you an extra hand climbing the ladder at the beginning.
@@MyAlaska12 I owned mine for years and only learned from Utube myself mate. I'm from Queensland Australia but I'm sure Home Depot or tool place online you'll be able to get another one. I use the impact more so maybe just keep it on the drill you use more.
Hello from Cape Cod. Hope you are doing well. Been a while I need to catch up on my videos. Looks like a rabbit hutch to me???? See you again soon. Beautiful fox✌️🇺🇸
If it helps for the next time you mow, we use what's called a brush mower on our 3ft+ grass. It's like a cross between a push mower and giant string trimmer. Look up "earthquake M605". That's what we use, but you might find something that's better quality up there. Also, most 12 volt batteries should never be drained lower than 12 volts. Even 12 volts will really shorten their lifespan if done consistently. I get nervous if mine go below 12.3 volts
Good Morning, that shot at about 7:30 of your land showing the sky, your trees and listening to the birds.. Wow, tranquility!.. It looks so nice in the area where you got it mowed. You can really see the difference now up by the shed where it's not been cut yet! Did you get a chance to show that bush to your neighbor to see if he knows that is? How you get the batter situation figured out..
I’ll be interested to hear what’s up with your solar set up. Just out of curiosity, is cutting the grass in front of the cabin just for aesthetics or is there another reason?
