@@BIG10_Quicktalk I'm guessing you copied and pasted the names from a previous week and didn't realize you also copied the records. Live and learn. The ranks were pretty good though.
Minnesota is never a push over game for Michigan, it is the oldest trophy game in the NCAA. It is a huge rivalry game, maybe not as huge as U of M v. MSU or obviously U of M v. OSU, but it is still a huge rivalry game. I guarantee you that Minnesota has a star on this game every year. So to downgrade this game by thinking Minnesota is a push over is disingenuous, and shows a level of ignorance for the commentator of this video.
I get it that it is a game in the BIG 10 and those are never gimme's, but I have never been a fan of how this current roster was constructed and frankly I do not think they will be good as I have documented many times on this channel. This being established I frankly was shocked by how close this game was. Good on Minnesota for keeping it close.
I give a brief overview of every game in the BIG 10, I do not at this time do in depth analysis, perhaps when the channel grows I will do that but at this time I do not have the time or resources to do that.
Y'all I forgot to talk about USC VS Michigan, completely my fault- trust it will not happen again. That being said I want to share my thoughts about the game here: - Michigan in the new Iowa, to win games they must run the ball effectively and play great defense - I know that it is pretty evident but Kalel Mullings in 100% objectively better then Donovan Edwards. My take is that Mullings was built for the Michigan offense and Edwards frankly is not, and in my opinion, would thrive in a different style of offense. - Miller Moss put up some great numbers (283 yds, 3 tds) but also struggled mightily at times. This inconsistency, especially in crunch time, is what led to USC losing this game. - The Defense is still not good at stopping the run at all, they are soft and that need to change fast for them to get through the rest of their season with a chance at the playoffs Overall it was a great game and it showed that Michigan is not out of anything yet, and USC still has to fix their issues to really contend.
Totally get where your coming from, but my argument is that they played a then top 10 team very close in Notre Dame, and they are extremely talented. This week will be a challenge though playing in the swamp
@@BIG10_Quicktalk But Notre Dame is not top 10. If losing to Notre Dame gets you in the top 25 then surely beating Notre Dame (NI) would, yet I don't see Northern Illinois.
@@andrewmueller9986 Difference is that I already had Texas A&M in my top 25 before the season. Much like how Clemson didn't fall so far off the map when they lost to Georgia, I dont believe in punishing A&M for keeping it close with a then top 10 team.
H@@BIG10_Quicktalk don't be married to your previous ones. It's just looks so weird to have a 1 and 1 team that lost to ND and not have a 2-0 team thar beat ND.
MEA CULPA. I totally forgot about USC and recorded before the USC game happened so here are my thoughts on the game below: USC played very well in this game, in particular on defense. I do not think anyone thought that the defense would limit a high-powered LSU Offense to under 21 and honestly it is one of the main reasons they upset the 13th ranked team in the country. Millard Moss showed some poise and clutch ability while the WR room looks very good as well. Woody Marks was on and off at RB, he had his really good moments (lst second TD) but he also had some moments that were not great. All in all- USC is not playing around this year- they know that there is a lot of pressure on them to win this year and they are starting off on the right foot!! Fight On!!
Never said Michigan doesn't have a QB haha, I just dont think he will be ready for a calibur of team like Texas early in the year-. Again, so that this video does not turn into a 2 hour long video I cant explain every little detail but I would encourage all to watch my season preview for Oregon, Michigan, and all the others!
The thing is everyone knows he is a bag of hot air. It's inflammatory/hyperbolic journalism. Most people are smart enough to just not pay attention or not get bothered. I'm not criticizing your video, but just saying one approach is not even respond when someone makes crazy comments. Don't give attention to shock jocks.
Yeah, Ohio State lost to Michigan, but it was a very close game last year. It really came down to the end when Kyle McCord threw that end of game pick. Really coulda been an Ohio State win. I would say Ohio State Is primed for another close game vs Michigan this year
Don’t like this video. Ryan Day was hired for one main reason to beat Michigan the biggest rivalry in the country, and he’s 1band three straight losses. If he can’t beat Michigan this year the fan base will beamy him fired plain & simple.
You cannot claim that that was the reason since Urban Meyer was beating Michigan on a yearly basis. I am not saying that it isn't important, but to say that just because 3 losses over 3 years causes him to be on the hot seat is frankly ridiculous. Also no one in their right mind would fire Day if they went 11-1 (the lone lose being Michigan). That year would include a BIG 10 Championship appearance and a CFB Playoff appearance. Sounds like a pretty darn good year to me.
I mean Day needs to step it up. It's not okay the UM losses, but at the same time, one has to have context: 1. 2020 UM backed out. That would have been a win. 2. Michigan cheated between 2020 and early 2023. That helped them a lot in the 2022 that was at OSU. 3. Those UM teams were better than the teams that Urban Meyer faced. Day needs to stop being a nice guy and be more edgy/gritty, and quite frankly if some fans want him on the hotseat fine, but Finebaum took it too far.
Like I have stressed a thousand times it is a POSSIBLE weakness because of the lack of time the secondary has played together, it may cost them early in the season. I am not saying that they are not talented because they are VERY talented.
Don't forget Kaliakmanis is being reunited with his former OC with which he some success with 2022 (300 yd game vs Wisc). If he can regain that form and be decent that would represent a big improvement over Wimsatt.
Arnold is better than Cobb. There's some young talent at LB but un proven, also Eric Gentry is a big wild card. I'm not sure you know enough about the camaraderie to make that statement about the D Backs. The D backs will be difficult for teams in the Big. Much much higher chance of winning 9-11 than just 5-6. Generally good analysis, thanks.
I will put out my official win-lose predictions at a later date but what I will say is that I am confident in the Badgers going bowling. 8 wins would be impressive with the schedule that they have.
Good assessment overall, and trust me, I know I’m biased as a usc fan but the our secondary is not a potential weakness, it’ll finish as one of the top of the nation with transfers like John Humphrey, DeCarlos Nicholson, and greedy Vance jr, just watch the spring game. our biggest problem is D line and O line depth which is basically non existent. Also linebacker is at least a B, great impact transfer in Easton Macarenas Arnold, Eric Gentry is great in coverage and mason cobb led the team in tackles
Michigan has 5 starters returning. Their defensive line is solid, rbs are solid. That’s all we know. They have to replace their entire offensive line! Bump that up to a pick em game. Penn state has a lot of guys to replace as well but they should have a solid defense. Running back is their most solid position on offense. Who knows if they will be able to toss the ball
Easton is the best linebacker on the team the moment and the grade should be higher with the potential impact of the freshman in the rotation too. Defensive backfield is the best position group on defense- one of the deepest in the country.
😂 Bro the fact that you don't know that USC has 2 elite RBs getting ready to produce, Quinton Joyner & Amarian Peterson as Redshirt freshman tells me you really don't know USCs roster. You really think Transfer RB is our main guy? Yall Big10 🤡s are about to learn the hard way ✌🏽
@@Talkinsports91 Bro you think USC is a Joke? You do realize the only reason we were down was one we had damn near 6 years of sanctions followed by a 6 year stretch of having the worst coach to ever be at USC. So of course over the past 12 years a whole generation of kids grew up seeing USC suffer. But even Still USC puts out elite talent all the time. Go look at the NFL, Hall of Fame, All Americans. USC is instantly the class of the Big10 with Michigan and Ohio State. No other Big10 team can compete with the overall tradition and accolades. 0... And USC has a winning record against the entire damn conference. Once USC gets there NIL figured out just Like Ohio State it's going to be hell for the Big10
@@49erLA thank God I didn't put time in reading all that garbage lol still blaming sanctions in 2024 is hilarious and pathetic but not surprising. USC did more damage to itself with all the horrible hires but let's not bring that up lol and when did I ever say USC is a joke ? Lol I said let's hold off calling kids elite when they've hardly played. Get out yo feelings
Nice video. Keep up the good work. May have missed a few points. I think the secondary will be the best unit on the defense. Easton Mascarenas-Arnold and Eric Gentry have a chance to be really good as linebackers as well
@@brandonjones5751 Elite is a strong room, but there is no doubt that the talent is there! The important thing is that they need to learn to work together as a unit so stuff like busted coverages don't happen. No doubt there is talent there!
@@BIG10_Quicktalk The B1G is in for a nasty surprise. Everybody's looking at Oregon not realizing that USC might actually be at the same level. You've been warned, don't be surprised when we beat LSU, Penn State and possibly Michigan...
@@David_USC I believe USC will beat LSU, they matchup well and I think LSU is overrated. A win against Penn St. Will be very tough in my eyes, but USC should have a fighting chance in that one. Yet I do not think USC will go into the Big House and beat Michigan, I may be wrong but I think USC does not matchup well to Michigan.
All of our QBs are ranked 4th tier. For example, JM last year in 4 crucial games at UNLV threw 8 TDs and 8 INTs with 20 yards rushing. In 4 non-bowl games, MM was 1 TD and 1 INT. Our center has never played a snap at center. FPI = 18 w/ 5 above us, SP+ = 23 w/ 5 above us, Vegas = 7 wins. We will be going 7-5, 8-4, 6-6 then lose in the First Responders Bowl and be 8-5 or so AGAIN. We have never been to the CFP, we only have a 2.5% chance of going this year, and we not been relevant for 15 years. Yes I'm sick to my stomach about us.
Not bad for a casual. You need to do your research a bit better though. QB will be great, receivers just as good, decent secondary. The questions are line depth on both O and D and linebacker play. The LBs are deep but time will tell. The secondary is probably the strongest part of the D. The running back corps is great. The only issue is how much will Riley run the ball?
Harrison Wallace the third is a super solid player, the reason he has no stats is because he was hurt last year for pretty much the entire season. And Kayden Saunders has elite speed. The main problem with our offense last year was our offensive coordinator. That’s why we got so much better in the last couple games when he wasn’t on the team. And the reason we look like trash in the bowl game is because most of our starters did not play.
