Squiggy was a rescued baby hyrax that came into my life all of a sudden. She was found alone on a large property nearby by a farm worker. I tried and tried to find a hyrax family that would take her. But she kept running off. I finally trapped her in an old building that I knew had a family living in it. I figured nature would take it's course. About 30 minutes later I was headed home from visiting a neighbor and I heard a distant "squeak squeak squeak" and saw this tiny 2 week old hyrax running towards me on the path 30 meters away. She stopped between my feet, looked up, and squeaked again at me. My landlord saw this from a distance and yelled "I guess it wants you! It's yours now! Take it home and take care of it!" This channel is dedicated to her and her wild cousins that live on my roof and around the neighborhood. Sadly, (and I mean, VERY SADLY) after raising her from a bottle, she suddenly passed at 16 months. Veterinarian could identify no cause of death. Welcome all.
What do you think, what is the cause of the ”waa-waa” sounds of hyraxes? Are they chill or are they alarmed?😄 asking a professional - out of curiosity!
You are certainly right. I enjoyed recording these videos and I’ll I could hear in the background was hyraxes scratching themselves. I’m mostly trying to boost my watch time and reach to new people. I need the channel to pay for itself (and my new phone that is en route from usa right now). If people will watch without goofy music I’m all for it… I’m just thinking I need to make some mass appeal videos here and there? I don’t know!
Hyraxes really are the most adorable animals. i have to respect their dedication to huddling together and soaking up sun beams. Seems like a quiet and uncomplicated life for them, barring a few exceptions.
This video is fake. No way she has given birth to 5 little angels. I believe in angels, but where is the space for that? Seriously now: She must have been inflated like a balloon. So miracles do happen? I can hardly understand. What a mother she is. I just wish I was her son.
I always look forward to reading the description box as it helps me grasp what the story is behind every video and this time it was sad.😢 I wish this young hyrax survives. I love the updates and personal touch of story telling of the animals aroumd your house, its like watching meerkat diaries but more personable.😊
