What year is your 3 Wheeler? I just bought one at the car swap meeting, Conroe Texas And took it the next day to crystal beach. She rides like a champ. Best $800 I ever spent. I think mine's and 86 cause. The throttle is like a dirt bike.
Nice man 👍🏽 I picked one up awhile back for $300 bucks ran great even during Montana below °0 weather always starts one pull. It’s been outta commission for awhile but just recently got her started back up. I troubleshooted so many things and it only ended up being the throttle pin clip so the pin was stuck in the carburetor. Just a quick 10 minute fix and I’m back on the trails!! 😊
I would get rid of the HONDA AND KEEP THE YAHAMA 225 DX. I have a 225 DX just like the one you have. I have it 36 yes. Nothing has been replaced except the Oils. Great machine. Ride it every chance I get in the hills of WestVirginia. KEEP IT.
Very good idea, don’t remove the resonators. I regret getting a catback which removes the resonators, and now I’m installing a vibrant resonator back in
Hey thanks for the videos! I ordered the same setup and have installed the muffler and tips. Haven’t gotten around to installing the res deletes yet. Jus wondering in your opinion, how much louder is it without the res deletes. Is it worth it to remove them or just leave em
Can I ask you what you paid for it? I'm about to pick one up for 50 bucks that's been sitting out in a field for some time. I figured for $50, who cares what's wrong with it I will take a stab at it and if it is too far gone they can sit out in my field LOL
Excellent How to video, thank you for putting it together. I just picked up a 1984 225DX and need to go through everything. What oil filter did you go with, my usual parts shop (Rocky Mountain ATV/MC) only goes back to 1987... I'm sure it's a pretty generic filter. Also, what tires did you put on the rear? My old Wooly Boogers are pretty close to done. Thanks in advance.
I noticed when you removed the drain plug that the screen was installed incorrectly. Was going to message you, but continued watching and noticed you explained the proper way that it should be installed during re-assembly. Kudos
This a total lack of experience with two piece rims but could you have pulled the valve stem, taken out the carriage bolts, tossed the tube in, lined up the valve and never had to break the bead?
Just changed my oil and noticed a small o ring in the drain pan…after cleaning everything I can see it fell out of engine case …..it belongs in the bottom or middle size screw hole. It goes in then the cap and screw over top of it…The one that’s hard to get off because of rear brake pedal….
I’d really like to find a 225dx project like this - sellers are asking premium prices for trikes that are so far gone that may not even qualify as a parts bike
I am restoring a 1982 185s right now. I need a complete walk around of this bike! There was so much missing off mine when I got it that I’m pausing this video every 5 seconds noticing something I’m missing ect😂😂
Great video you missed the last step After changing the engine oil, check the oil flow as follows: a. Remove the oil check bolt in the cylinder head b. Start the engine and allow it to idle. Do not increase engine rpm. c. Oil should start to seep out of the oil check bolt hole d. Reinstall bolt You earned my subscription!!!
I do PDR. It was a good try. It takes over a year of PDR training to understand the metal and dent movement. That dent was 100% removable back to perfect. Now, it will never be able to be perfect. Sticking the glue stick to the tank is not a good idea. With a small kit from harbor freight you could have dome better. Tip, you have to use a knockdown to remove the pressure from the dent first and as you go along.. Pulling from the spots you put the glue actually caused the texture you were left with. A really good PDR person could use rods and fix it a little better, but you are going to have to pay for that. If you had called one first, probably for 100 bucks it would look perfect.
Use vinegar and baking soda let it set for at least 5 days then rinse tank really good then dry tank very well then seal it with por15 or red kote. I just did this to my 1985 big red 250 omg the rust was awful the Worst I've ever seen and I've owed every Honda and Yamaha trikes. Love them all but my favorite would be the 1985 250sx or the 1985 or 1986 Honda 350x is my favorite what a great time I've had on three wheelers. Good find man this is a nice trike and its worth big bucks now
