Love hearing the stories about the Hip Hop shop. Visiting as a teenager just getting into graf and hip-hop culture was mind-blowing. They had everything you'd ever need in one spot. I still have a ConArt shirt that I bought from there. Melrose used to be so fun to visit during that era.
I was bused to the valley for school and Oil m, Sacred, Dcline, Chaka, Sleez were running the freeways. I always wondered who they all were. Thanks for the episode.
Besides seeing Sacred’s scribes on the buses I would see him on school buses as well. Multiple school buses I was on in middle school and high school… and they were already several years old too (he’d usually write the year)
I was a kid in the 90s but CHAKA and GKAE were the guys who stood in my mind the most in terms of seeing them up everywhere. CHAKA was mostly tags but GKAE did more throwups in addition to tags.
Hey there I am at 36:15 with the glasses on white long sleeve. Great days at The Hip- Hop shop!!!!! Love n Respect to Hex n Omega for opening our hearts n eyes to a Hip-Hop family. Stacked 3Ds🤯 I saw her at the Belmont in 89’ she was with Royalty all the UTI cats, she was a cute spunky Chica but she was down and rocked with all the kings, Always held her own. I didn’t get to go to the Hip Hop Shop when she was with Hector. Keep doing your thing Girl Much respect Chica
