Ok! For All You Guitar Players out there. This Song was Played by Steve on a Les Paul Deluxe( you know with the mini- buckers ) thru a Traynor Amp. I was at this concert in Hollywood Florida at the now defunct Pirates World Amusement Park. Trust me I could not believe that Tone thru a Traynor? Back then I played thru a Traynor. What a clean almost like a Fender Beach Boys tone. Apparently Steve knew someone that modded that Traynor. Nowadays people have said if mod a Traynor it will sound like a poor man’s Marshall. Yes! His soul comes through the songs that he sang and his Son sang with his heart just like his father told him to do when he was only 8 years old but in my opinion he already had it in him of course he inherited It from his remarkable father. And can you imagine if they didn’t pass so young and they sang together. It’s always been a dream of mine to have been able to hear those two sing any song together. It would have been pure solid gold..
I got to see Tommy once, just a few months before he OD'd. This was at the Circle Stat theater in San Carlos, CA. I remember he had Narada Michael Walden on drums and a bass player that usually played with Stevie Wonder ...don't remember his name off hand. Great show and glad I didn't wait to see him.
