Wheelbase is so short on those it must alter direction with light input .I mean that wheelbase is shorter than most 600s and light wheels should make it drop into turns better.
Handling is not bad considering their 'reputation' ... Currently running Diablo Supercorsa's ... very sticky and traction feels good ... Maxton unit at rear perhaps helps too 🙂👍
Great looking bike! I've been so out of touch with bikes since I quit riding in about '95, you could have told me it was a new '24 model and I wouldn't have known.
@paulthompson4367 ... Thank you for viewing 🙂👍... My friend gave me the Supercorsas with the OZ's when I bought the wheels ... ( they were an almost new pair of tyres ) ... I thought I'd just use them up, ... soft, but very good grip 👌 ... Will probably go back to Pirelli Angels when I've shredded them ... 😁
I had a green one, loved it so much, even rode it to Portugal. Changed to the aprilia Milie R which I still have I believe the Aprilia has a better chassis .
@captbarb6642 ... I changed my first 'Prime Green' 97S and then went on to RSVMille (Many years ago & long since gone 🙂) ...But, I missed my TL ...so, had to have one again ... 👍
@@NJS-TL1000S yes I know the feeling a long time after selling my TL it turned up for sale I nearly bought it back . I had put ohlins rear suspension on mine and Remus titanium cans very nice .
Thank you 🙂 ... Yes, the numbers of these motorcycles must be diminishing, little by little now ... OEM originals will probably be the bikes that hold value in the future ... Nice to know your father was an owner ... the bikes definitely have character 👍
I remember wanting to buy the TL1000R but when I went down to see them I was told they ain’t coming 😢😢 so I bought a brand new gsx750R … then I go down for its 1st service and there’s the TL1000R sat there in the showroom 😢😢😢 needless to say a few months later I took ‘the hit’ and traded for one … hated it at first but then I learnt how to ride a twin , did a few track days and loved it .. looking back it was the longest I ever kept a bike and wish I still had it in the garage today 😢😢😢my pillion enjoyed it ( I’m six two ) and I found it actually comfortable enough for a couple of European trips .. it was big and lardy but it did everything asked of it , never tried the ‘S’ version but I imagine not much difference in the real world .. great bikes
Yes, the 'Sharks' have a decent growl ... TL's a bit more of a hooligan with a nice 'aftermarket' system ... 🤣 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GVDHs3MFi54.htmlsi=Tdia4zATWboxbLCK
Very nice. You may have seen my TLS on some groups as I’m rebuilding/restoring it. The Bitubo goes on this week & Coolant Temp mod as per OEM Suzuki 98+ this week then fix & paint fairings.
I like to see 'street fighter versions' that are well done, but, I personally wouldn't consider removing the Suzuki TL fairing as I prefer the classic look of what the TLS represents as a late 90's sports bike ... Horses for courses as they say ... 🙂
Don't think it's restricted, but I've never had it dyno'd ... It was made in Feb 97 ... It's an old motorcycle now, not that powerful compared to more modern sports bikes, 🙂 but, incredibly fun to ride, and still got enough of a temper to make me respect her 🤣👍
Best time to buy really ... ( if you are in UK ) ... TL prices are quite low in general ... roughly 2k up to 3.5k mark is all they seem to fetch at the moment ... 🙂👍
Hi, thank you for viewing my vid. The exhausts and the 2" headers are made by 'Shark' - Its a complete system ... I've only ever seen one other system like it fitted to a TL (on the forums) ... so I'm guessing now very rare ... My exhausts are 20+ years old - unfortunately not made now ...
🙂👍 ... Many thanks Luke. I'm not sure where my old bike will go on it's journey of evolution ... but I'm hoping to perhaps make a projector 'devil eye' headlamp for her ... and other little things ... lol 🤣
@NJS-TL1000S I'm picking up a red 97 tomorrow and need to start planning what I'm going to modify. I have carbon BST wheels from a desmosedici rr, cnc race triple tree from a 1098r and a few other items from previous builds. Will be my first suzuki
@@paulscountry456 Thank you 😊 ... I filmed on an Akaso V50X camera ... quite inexpensive compared to some, but it's small & doubles as a dash cam too (if req) I was out on a lovely evening and the cam recorded the bikes 'growl' mostly at lower RPM as I just took a 'enjoyable' trundle in the countryside. ... My bike quickly becomes more thrilling once over 6000+ rpm, - has 17/43 sprockets. ... ( I don't need the speed factor these days 🤣) lol ... TL's just really fun to ride.
Thank you, it was a very unexpected moment ... Just sat on the pier enjoying the beautiful day and I saw the aircraft approaching in the distance ... Wonderful to see a Spitfire and a lasting tribute to the pilots that flew them 🙂👍
@@NJS-TL1000S really? i suposse is the fuel injector o something like that but i believe not why the engine starts and accelerate perfectly , i check all , air filter spark plugs i have it already a week ago , most common issues you found on it? to check it, thanks!
@freeriders.8526 ... If you can smell fuel check under the bottom of fuel tank to rear and see if any fuel seeping from tank seal fuel pump gasket. This is always a good place to begin if you can smell fuel because the tank gasket seals are prone to failure over time. Unfortunately, I can't really give better guidance to help you as it's a case of trying to identify where fuel loss is happening by process of elimination. Do check out TL owners forum TL zone etc, lots of practical information. Just a suggestion to check tank and fuel lines for leaks before you go further ... Hope that helps, 🙂👍
Wow, wish I had the tools, the craftmanship to make a set like this! I love chess and would definitely love to have a wooden set self- made than just buying one .
Thank you 🙂 ... It is possible with quite basic equipment; but, I discovered the real professional wood turners make it look easy on a big lathe and with years of practice etc and so it was a very steep learning curve for me 🙂 ... After quite a few 'blunders' I did find a way 'eventually' ... Many thanks for watching my video & your comments 🙂👍
Hello, they are OZ Evo forged spoke wheels from Aprilia RSVR with fully floating disks ... I'm sorry but I'm not able to say if SV1000 wheels are compatible ... The Aprilia wheels are not a straight swap as you have to have spacers made up and mine have a specialist 43 tooth 'Ergal' rear sproket that is compatible with 530 super heavy duty drive chain ... I have posted other video of the motorcycle with some quite close up footage if you wish to check it out. Thanks for viewing 🙂 👍
She's sporting a 'Shark' performance exhaust system. 2" wide bore - stainless. I've put a few other videos of her on for fans and enthusiasts of some close up detail if you fancy a look. Thanks for viewing 🙂👍
