Love seeing all the local trails... I've haven't been at it that long... but recently just rode Monument, as I have finally been stepping up to a few black trails lately! (after many green and blues)... so it's always great to see trails first, and then ride them, after building up to it! :)
Just getting into more trail rides in melbourne area, and it's so good to have local content, showing what's about for me to start on! which blues are good, and or harsher... and maybe the odd black! keep it up!
If I went to You Yangs, which single black diamond trail do you think is the easiest??? out of the blacks... I have ridden some pretty tech blue trails in NSW, but based out of melb now and probably going to try You Yangs soon... but wondering which black trail should be the first one to try there. I'm probably better at tech, than jumps :)
just upgraded my MTB so this exactly what I needed to get inspired to visit some new places around Melbs!... have been doing greens, and now recently some more techy blues, so all of these parks will be great for a look! Thnks for the review! shortcut to what's worth riding!
That's rough man. Those holes and sudden dips in terrain are brutal. I have experienced them on motorcycles and skis. I also got a mTBI a few years back. Give yourself time to heal. Stay off things with wheels. It's just not worth it. Your head cannot take another hit either. How are you doing now and are you still riding? Are you pain free with your back and brain? You might want to look into Keto diet. It works pretty well. Brain needs healthy fats.
Great vid Hamish, I didn't know you used to live out there, I'm there often now and still exploring new trails. I love all the terrain and wholesome feeling of Castlemaine. I'm really glad you made this video. I enjoyed it much.
Beechworth to Yack was fantastic. Going back to Beechworth nearly did me in. Running out of water didn't help. Neither did the lack of phone reception. I got the missus to pick me up at Lake Kerford. Now I want to go back and just do the Beechworth loop that I missed out on.
Hah! I thought this was going to be the Quarry Park in California. I saw those nice buildings and thought "wait a minute, that area is nowhere near that nice and it looks nothing like that". Not as gnarly as the one here, but that looks like a ton of fun. I wish we had more parks like that in my area
I have been riding around here the last couple of months and the trails have degraded quite a bit since this video. Definitely makes for a tougher ride.
@@longandwinding Oh its not too bad, I rip down all the trails on my 150/120 mm Stance so you should be right. The hardtail might have to chill out a bit, not go too fast or they might get thrown off. Haven't done it on a hardtail though so wouldn't know
Great video as always! I’m not a big fan of the Beechworth trails, too rocky and no real flow. I did the Beechworth end loop of the Epic and it was amazing, and plan to do the Yack end at some stage. I don’t really think I want to do the whole thing in one day 😅. Well done for completing the whole loop!
