"Backfishing" is going to be videos about coming full circle. I was an avid bank fisherman in my younger days but now re-learning new techniques in the different fisheries. Please join me on solo journeys or adventures with friends. I've realized having experiences and adventures is large part of living life. I look forward to sunsets, nature, fishing and enjoying the process of learning which I'm willing to share to viewers. Thank you to all the RU-vidrs from the Bay Area and Northwest fishing channels. You all have inspired me to do what I missed most. You guys are awesome! Continued success to you all. Life's hustle and bustle take us away from what we enjoy most. Get out there and do you. Salamat, Mahalos, and Thank you.
Been gone since 2017. I miss the Bay and fishing the Island for rockfish. Oregon is cold and rugged, not too many mellow days on the Ocean. I enjoying taking a little trip back watching your content. Good video.
Some local fisherman are having fits about this upload saying this is for their own. I don't agree, but I also respect not naming spots. Part of the journey is exploring and then when you hook up. It becomes more gratifying. GL
an outstanding video, especially since we're beginning to make our own snares. Where did you find the brass(?) ring and hook units to close the bait cage with? All we can find are screw hooks!
hey, I'm in the SF area as well. question: are birds a strongest indication for a good fishing day more than going early morning and night time? I hear so many rules to be successful. try to go sunrise and sunset only try not to go when its a clear blue sky now I find out birds is very important as well. Thanks for this info. great video
Birds are an indication of bait around the area which draw big fish. Schooling fish salmon/stripers/perch will definitely be attracted to them and may stay around. Early morning is typically good for all fishing in general. Night especially good for stripers.
The fishing here is not as good as Oregon and Washington. None of my kids want to go with me after getting skunked repeatedly. I have not fished for many yrs but feel the urge lately. Thanks for a great video of our beaches.
Nice video. I went for a walk there yesterday. Friendly people willing to talk and show me their catch. Thinking of taking my nephew who is showing a slight interest in fishing. I haven't fished for decades. Are the crabs and fish caught there safe to eat?
Awesome vids. I want to try striper night fishing. I live in sf mission bay next to chase center. What's the ideal tide. Incoming outgoing? How big is the grub you're using. Oh and how long are stripers in sf? Thanks in advance.
In the bay range from '16" to 22" on average. I use 4" - 6" grub which work best for me. Just go when water starts to move either way. Read water for bait.
Be more direct with snaggers, let them know people are watching and sportsman like anglers are a group that self regulate when it comes to the rules; if they don’t like it call the *611 and report them, they’ll catch a ticket and you’ll pick up a preference point as a hunter.
Great to see the guy help the stingray get back into the water. We need responsible fishermen like that if we hope to fishing in the future. Great video!
@@BackFishing hahaaa... I figured out exactly where you were later after a few of your quick camera pans... logical choice to be at the mouth there, ive just never tried it there. So a similar experience for me in a similar setting, but without all the waves, just sand and calm waters, was in astoria 2 years ago, when there were expanding out all the beach recreation access areas with massive construction going on... it was at the further access point before deading... it was either point "C" or "D"(which ever was the furthest out)...it was so peaceful there with no tides really and ships just going back and forth in the distance...and just monster crabs on snares... and water level is like netarts at slack, so that you can just even walk out with a regular trap and drop it there too at waist high... i can share this because im leaving the country next year and i know you wont reveal it.
So after 1 year, you still won't say where this was exactly... just give me a hint please...was this spot IN side the Jetty and bay, or was it outside on the ocean beach, because looked like the ioen ocean there. By the way...are you Filipino, because you look and sound exactly like uncle Clarence Mancia...??
They are all over the bay. Here's a few spots on the south bay Coyote Point, Sierra Point, Oyster Point and Brisbane tubes. Just know your backyard spots and you'll get'em. Striped bass should come back into the bay around September from the ocean. GL
Striped bass spring run April to September and fall run Sept to October. Catch them as they go out of the bay in Spring and come back in the fall. Lots of places to go North Bay, East Bay and South Bay. Research your backyard waters and you'll catch them. GL
Lee earned that in the 70's trout fishing Lake Merced when water was still clear using velveta cheese, marshmallow and pautkze eggs. Fort Baker smelt fishing worm and shrimps. Killed it then. 😆
@@gsdubz9931 Easier to get to nowadays with e-bikes, ride share, and muni. I use to take the bus for a nickel to Lake Merced and skateboarded on clay wheels around the lake. LOL
@@BackFishing You could have just answered them and been helpful, and not be a snooty douche. @rbd6661 This is near SF Palace of Fine Arts if you search for it on Google Maps and look north of it you'll see it on Marina Blvd
