Coming later in the coho fishing season I was in search for Coho B run. These fish are released later as smolts and begin to come back into the rivers to spawn later in the fall. I also caught my very fish dog fish/chum salmon.

There is no such thing as a B run coho in Oregon. Late run in Washington they designate at "N" for North migrating

@@NorthweSteelheadJunkies Great comments. Local jargon from fishermen regarding B run coho. Can you share this info here about "N" migrating fish? Why do most fisherman say late fish is "B" run. I have their explanation. I want to here yours. Thank you.

@BackFishing The "N" run designation of late run Washington coho is straight from WDFW Hatchery escapment reports. The Columbia River has "A" vs "B" run summer steelhead and somehow fisherman have adopted that designation to coho runs that is not defined by any agency

@@NorthweSteelheadJunkies I see why this can be misunderstood or adopted by fisherman in WA and OR. Some coho come into rivers late August all bright but by mid October they have some color. Are fish that are bright that come into the same river 1st week of November just late comers? "N" run for coho not "B". Is that correct to say?

I like it. Pretty light setup. Versatile rod for my use. I've used it for surf perch using 2 ounces wt and has held up casting with good tip action for bites. Salmon/steelhead is great. No complaints. I feel like I have backbone and can work the fish back to me. I've always been a fan of Fenwick rods.

Yeah chums are fun and you need to work through them to get to the coho right now here in WA too. Should flip and be more B run Coho next week. We started to get some nice B run this week. Fish On 👍👍👍

That's awesome. I'm glad you got into some B runs although you have to weed through all the chums. It is a good time. Just watching water levels now before I go out. Thanks for commenting. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

FYI clearly this is a Washington Coastal river that has hatchery chums and your fishing just above the Hatchery fishway

Thank you for your comments. I will look those names up. I know Chanterelles but the other two you mentioned unfamiliar. I would love to get into picking mushrooms in the near future.
