I have a 2013 base cab with the manual transmission and found a male 2 wire (blue & green) that, through another video (he did a jumper to test it), are the ones to connect to the clutch switch (cruise control), that needs to be installed where a bolt and nut are currently. The connector I mentioned is on the left side harness and is taped to it. I'll have to pull the air bag out so I can see if the wiring is there at the air bag female connector and there are 3 connections in an L shaped pattern ( top left, lower left and lower right) to the clock spring. Factory part #'s as follows: cruise switch 84632-0821, cruise switch wire 84633-04020, clutch switch 88280-14030 and cover for the switch stalk 45186-0C020-B1. Thanks for the help and wish me luck on this. I'm going to install the intermittent wiper switch and that only requires a swap out to have that feature; part #84652-02710 👍.
Very good video. You were optimistic and enthusiastic throughout your entire video, which makes anyone see that they can do their own maintenance on these beasts. There aren't many videos of maintenance on these mowers. I am in the process of purchasing a 2008 with 1,750 hours. I can't wait for it to be delivered. Post more videos of any maintenance or troubleshooting you do on your mower.
Thanks for the comment and encouragement!! I'll definitely keep posting videos on this piece of equipment, but I don't think there will be much that breaks on it from what I've read on the internet.
It funny how many good machines I've gotten over the years that only needed simple fixes, looks like the previous owner took care of it also so thats a double win in my book
Thanks for the comment! I ended up finding the fuel shut off solenoid, not functioning correctly, which was prevented fuel from getting to the intake system.
Hey buddy, please don't take my comment negatively, but let your dog out of the garage soon. The reverberating noise of the engine will soon kill him from stress. Dogs hear 7x louder than humans
Thanks for that information! I'll make sure copper stays out of the garage when engines are going to be operated! I'd feel horrible if something happened to him.
If it’s making a noise shut it down before you damage more items and cost more to repair Yet people still run it tell it stops and cry about the price to fix it
If you want you can use Mean Green or Greased Lightning degreaser in the ultrasonic cleaner. It works pretty good. I advice not using chem dip because it is flammable and if you heat it up you never know what might happen
I would recommend looking at Diesel Creek or farmcraft101. They start the video by talking about what they're going to do and then provide updates to the viewer throughout the video. Good luck
i bet that plastic cover does nothing, only prevents you from servicing machine :D also if you dont want rust you must add anticore or smth, as these never get any anticorosion materials under paint. problem with these are multiple, go look vintage channel similar guy in garage so he rebuilded one of these, to remove oil pump he had to dissasemble all, and on top of that 3 days trying to remove crankshaft destroyong multiple special tools little newer machine without you wont reach oil pump. what he found was inside, he had to replace ring lucky i guess, also bearings lucky it didnt had time to destroy more. All this cause no oil, while oil pump dear god he opens and inside metal casing plastic parts :DDDD gears(cogs) where all of them plastic so one destroyed itself stripped teeth, so plastic in all oil strange had no time to go to engine. so it destroyed itself and even after that cooland also shut off as its connected to same gear :D its basically made to brake
Yeah, I inspected all those components internally to prevent failures on it in the future! I plan on using some sort of rust inhibitor on the whole unit to stop the rust and then potentially go over it with some bed liner or something like that to create a tough coating to protect the unit!
These are interesting vehicles Capability of a 4 wheeler But yet seating capacity of a golf cart. I've seen a John Deere video Of a vehicle like this A man was working on the farm he drove it from the job site to a pub and meet some friends or family They say these are legal to be on the road The DMV Classified as tractors.
Yeah, where I live, these things are super desirable! Super tough and rugged vehicles that you technically can drive on the road legally if you add an orange triangle. I've got a video I'm working towards on the 4 seater version! It's taking forever to get it out since parts keep getting delayed due to storms lol
If everything is working correctly, the brake is locked in the on position And the PTO is disengaged. The machine will start without being on the seat.
The backfire is a lean condition. turn that long brass screw out. they are very touchy on the settings. The air silencer cover makes a difference on how it runs too. FWI you can just hook an external tank up to the fuel pump without having to buy the connectors, just a fuel hose and primer bulb. Let it run and warm up. that water pump did not look the best, it had some memory and should be changed. The controls have the key switch. Im assuming that was part of the cut pigtail you showed at the beginning of the video. You are going to have to buy the control box and stuff or find some parts motors and convert it to a tiller and she will sell pretty fast. That block is 100% in good condition with plenty of compression.
I have LA-115, and they tend to blow the head gasket, and the rocker studs loosen up. But mine has 565 hours on it, still running well. Keep it clean and out of the weather and keep up with the oil and air filter changes, and it will be ready to go. The choke was sticking, so put a small spring out of an old VCR😢 works great. The plastic intake manifold warps, and the choke blade gets stuck. I clean the mower after cutting the grass with a leaf bower, water is not your friend. And fill the fuel tank so it's ready to go. Good luck, happy mowing.
Depending on how long this mower was just sitting in a corner for some time, they will lose air, just need blown up again, once the seal goes as it sits in storage , etc, will leak there.
