You should tack weld those nuts onto the plate so you only need to screw in the bolt. Then you don’t need to reach your arm around awkwardly to hold the nut with a spanner.
I literally installed the same GME unit in my 2021 GX Prado this afternoon. I looked in that very position but found the space was almost completely occupied with the aircon ducting to the rear of the consul for the middle row passengers. So, if you have the same model and year as mine I think this mount will be a no go I’m afraid. 😞
G'day legend - we have the VX 2023, we did see that there was some room for aircon ducting, assumed it was on the kakudu only? We had a look at the GXL and it was the same as ours.
@@ex.perdition The ducting runs down from the dashboard and along the passenger side of the consul, covering up one of the bolt holes. On reflection it may have more to do with the cooling of the storage bin rather than the air conditioning vents for the passenger middle seating

Good bit of kit ordered and received next day and easier than the video portrays to install . Takes about 10-15min if you're handy on the tools. Pro tip you won't need to remove anything use a 13mm spanner to loosen bolts instead of removing fuse box and overflow tank
Could the bracket be installed on the passenger side cig spot??? I feel the drivers side mounting would impede access to the locker button 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
G'day legend - you can mount it on the passenger side also. However, the locker button is still pretty easy to access. that being said, you can also shuffle the switches around while you have this piece of the dash apart installing the uhf mount.
G’day Pirate Camp Co just purchased and fitted this mount. Great product! Very easy to fit thanks to this video, only criticism I have regards to the video is, that we required a 19mm socket not 21mm. Apart from that 5 stars!!!

G'day legend - paper instructions are never adequate enough, we feel a video gives all the information in detail, and shows all the tips to the DIY person to make it a breeze for them at home,. Some people have different levels of ability when it comes to this sort of stuff.

G'day legend - these will be in the passenger footwell kick panel like in the video, unless you have the switches in the roof, then your wiring is in the engine bay beside the battery, the for owners manual tells you where to find it all.
