Every single person has their own personal preferences regardless of body size. I've purchased plenty of things online that others raved about only to find that it's not to my liking. Is their opinion wrong just because I didn't like some object that they did? Nope. It's just a difference of opinion. I do not weigh 499 pounds but I still find this chair to be very comfortable. Just because the chair holds up to 500lbs does not mean that you have to BE 500lbs to use it. Other family members and visitors have also found this chair to be one of the more comfortable ones. I sometimes give away office chairs after reviewing them, but this is one of the ones I've chosen to keep... because it's so comfortable. Good luck finding someone else with YOUR exact body size and personal preferences who can make perfect recommendations for you and you alone.
@@tomshomefinds You're missing my point entirely. It's not about "personal preference." Bigger people CAN NOT sit in chairs whose arms are not wide enough or whose seats are too narrow. Understand?
@@tomshomefinds "Good luck finding someone else with YOUR exact body size and personal preferences who can make perfect recommendations for you and you alone." Like I said, you understood not a single word of my comment and this response illustrates that.
@@GQ007-il6ek I understand what you're saying, but you're making the assumption that this chair would ONLY appeal to people who are "bigger" and "heavier" and I don't think that's the case. This chair COULD work for them (if the measurements work out) but it may not. The Amazon link has the width of the seat listed (24.8 inches). You can be short and heavier or tall and heavier. Some people like a snug fitting chair, some want lots of space. Personal preference, again. People of any weight can have a huge variety of body types. I find the chair comfortable and other people who have tried it (of any body type) have liked it.
@@tomshomefinds You still don't get it. I never said that other people would not want/like this chair. That's YOUR attempt to justify your own opinion. It's not about what "some people like." heavy people want reviews BY heavy people because they can more accurately define whether such a chair meets the comfort parameters of fellow heavy people. But instead of conceding my point and acknowledging that I even HAVE a point, you continue to defend and deflect. LEARN something here instead of forming ANOTHER argument that even FURTHER illustrates you narcissistic inablility to admit you're just WRONG.
Probably. I have a 2013 RAV4 and it does work. I usually order these sorts of things from Amazon (link in the description of the video) because it's easier to return things if they don't work for some reason.
Hi Tom, I see that you posted this review about 10 months ago. Is the seat padding still holding up? That was the problem I had with my last chair. It felt like sitting on plywood after a while. I sit in my chair 8-10 hours a day.
Yeah, I need to post a follow up video. So far the seat has held up well (I don't use it every single day)... My cat has put a couple tiny holes in the top with his claws (he likes to jump up the backs of chairs) but that would happen with any chair that isn't fabric. Overall, I'm still very pleased. I used it in my office basement.
Nope! I mean, they have batteries in them that get recharged from the sun every day. Nothing replaceable. These are still working well after 18+ months on my back porch steps.
been sitting in it an hour.. .legs hurt, back hurts, its hot.. wtf was i thinking... good sell but its going back.. it does not lean back far enough. no recline.. i guess i need that. its a 90 degree chair I sink to far into the seat.. man what a dissapointment
Oy, sorry to hear. That's the thing about "personal" fitting things like chairs, clothing, even headphones... What might be comfortable for me could be awful for someone else.. and vice versa. I still find the chair pretty comfortable but I also am not someone who likes to recline in office chairs when I'm using them to work. I do fiddle with the back pump from time to time to make myself sit up a little more or slouch a little more.
I think CFM (cubic feet per minute), but I'm really not much of an HVAC guy. There are a few good youtube tutorials on how to do it. Some are REALLY detailed and some seem to be less so...
I just ordered one for my new cat. We found her outside vet says she’s over 6 months but under a year. She continues to growl and attempt to attack my other cats who are just interested in her and want to play. How long did you need to keep using these for just because each refill is quite expensive. We have only had this cat about 2 weeks now. By no means do I want to have to find her a different home but if she keeps feeling so anxious and aggressive with my other cats I fear we will have to find her a home with no other pets. Did this seem to work immediately for you?
Hi Tom great review. Could you advise how wide the floor cleaning head is? I've found in other stick vacs the head tends to be quite narrow adding to the overall cleaning time/passes.
This looks way more ergonomic than what I recently did. I used visegrips to hold a flexible saw blade. I needed to cut off a damaged section of wood that was very close to some painted aluminum.
I am in the market for a good quality but affordable chair for big guys. I see in this video that the chair looks like it leans to the left a little. I see that when you're sitting in it, you also favor a posure leaning a bit to your left. Is this chair level? I am especially interested 10 months after your initial review.
Hi Tom, I have a question: Can you see if a t-shank Jig Saw blade will 'lock-up' in that handle? Some of those can (unofficially) accept the blades from a jig saw too. A while back I had a handle that could accept t-shank blades, but I have since misplaced it, and I'd like to find another one that can. If you don't have a Jig Saw with T-Shank blades, that's fine, please don't go out and buy a blade to check, lol.
Ohh yeah, I've seen those. Unfortunately, I don't have any to try it on. Honestly? You might be able to ask the question on the Amazon product page and get a reply. I've had mixed luck with that, but it never hurts.
As one Tom to another, this helped me to feel confident in buying the X7, just one thing would have helped more would have been how easy is it to buy an extra battery, if they are available as well. Many items I have bought over the years I found after purchase, the battery was either built in and not replaceable and far to difficult to access and repair or the removable battery was nowhere to be found for sale. The other model Vacuum I nearly bought had a removable battery, but they weren't listed anywhere to be bought and every page had not in stock and unsure if it ever would be and it was only a one year old model ? Thank you for the review
Yes. Literally. I have been known to "research" electronic things for so long that the models I was researching all stopped being made. I can go out to dinner and drop $100 on a whim. But buy something just for ME? I research it... to the point of being stupid. Very stupid. Still a nice wrench, though...
I think the temperature is a reading, but you can't necessarily change it. It's not an AC or heater so it doesn't actually produce cooler or warmer air, it just moves the air around. All general fans (like this one) make you feel cooler by push air across your skin which removes moisture and makes it *feel* cooler even if the temperature doesn't necessarily go down. We still use this fan in our bedroom in the summer and it helps move the air around, even on hot and humid nights.
Diclor is ph neutral which won’t move your ph one way or the other but it is stabilized so it can run up your cynaric acid level especially if using triclor tablets because there also stabilized then you run into chlorine lock
Well, you kind of have two options: Use nothing and take your chances with Sony's lousy cooling system or add an external fan that will move at least a little more air and keeps things a little cooler.
I'm 6ft 3, I weigh almost 18 stone, which is around 250lbs. I need a new chair, but I can't find any that have reinforcement around the hole that the piston fits into. I keep snapping welds on my chairs. I'm not even that big; I weigh a lot, but I'm small around the waist., broad across the shoulders and chest. I don't want to waste any more money on a chair that breaks within 2 years.
Yeah, that's totally reasonable. I have a cousin who is a good 30 pounds lighter than me and STILL manages to break his office chair every year or so. I think he likes to squirm and lean a lot, which can bend or push the welds/joints in ways the manufacturers didn't think about. I weigh about the same as you (and have for years) and I've never broken an office chair, so I think I just don't wiggle as much. Whether you go with this chair or another one you should probably look for chairs that advertise weight capacities of 350 or more just to account for the "wiggle" and bounce factor of how everyone uses chairs. I DO still use this one in my office basement setup and it's still holding up.
Our pool is an "oval" pool, but it doesn't have the big braces on the side, instead it's held up with these two big poles that have a tension wire between them. So without that wire holding the poles straight the sides would collapse outwards from the weight of the water. It's about 7 years old and holding up well. We have a volleyball net for the wire, but that's about it 🙂
@@tomshomefindsthat makes sense. Thanks for the reply. We are trying to get our alkaline levels up and hope this Clorox product will help us. This is our first year to use salt water system and the green keeps appearing in the more shady side of the pool
Cool. A quick tip we learned is that baking soda (arm and hammer works fine) is your friend when it comes to raising pH and alkaline levels. Once those levels are good a shock packet will work better and the whole pool tends to stay cleaner longer.
Hi Tom! Have you any issues with slugs with these planters? I made my own but since wood's so expensive, I left space in between the panels and in those nooks and cranny, slugs hide and lay eggs. Do these have that same issue?
Huh... This is our first year using them but we haven't yet noticed any slug problems. We don't generally have a lot of problems with slugs, though. We've had some ants crawl up the legs and get to the plants, but we're now spreading some used coffee grounds around the plants and my wife is spraying the plants and beds with "cinnamon water"... something seems to be working because we don't seem to have nearly as many ants as we did earlier in the year.
I just bought these from Amazon based on your review! I thought your review was through, and that you tested it in extreme conditions in your shower! 😀
No lie - my kids and I FIGHT over these things when we're in the pool. I got these things in FEBRUARY and couldn't really test them in the pool. They're freakin amazing and I have no idea why all goggles aren't designed like this. SO much better than the old school eyeball-squishers.
Ooo, good question! It IS a bit wide! When I moved it from my upstairs office to my basement office I had to turn it on it's side and slip it through. I think corporate office doorways might generally be bigger, but it could be tight for a home office doorway!
You have to undue the whole thing to put the male end into a socket. Its s design flaw because if you leave yoo much out on the make end, when reeling it in it smacks around loose.
It's definitely a storage unit (because you do have to unroll the whole coil each time) as opposed to an outright extension unit. For the price it still makes carrying cords around a little easier. The extension units (with the outlets build into the wheel itself) are pretty pricy.
Not really. All the water is held in the side tank and then when you press the button for water it is pulled into the filtration system, gets filtered, and comes right out. There is a little bit of water held in the filter lines, but there is no separate tank for filtered water. It's all filtered "as you need it"... hope that helps!
A power washer is maybe a little more FUN, but it blows mud and gunk all over the place so I constantly have to go over the patio area AGAIN after I've cleaned out the cracks.
@tomshomefinds yes but this makes a mess as well which you need another tool to clean up. Power wash you can blast the dirt out then just spray down the area to clean it off. It's a more simple process, but I understand you are trying to sell a product
This is a good start, but it depends on your pool water. Most pool stores with test your water for free (just bring in a little container of water and they'll recommend what to add.
