Hey, sorry to hear. The same thing just happened to me and I’m really devastated. I will probably re upload through another distributor. I have a question tho. Do I need to re upload the songs with the same ISRC & UPC code ?
@@thebigmanx if possible, yes. I think most DSPs will recognise it's the same song if it has the same name, artist, title, song length and ISRC code. Won't hurt to also keep the UPC the same, if that's possible.
thank you very much for your work on scripting, and for pointing to the FL Studio problems. My biggest issue is the FL Studio lack of Linux support , wich stops me from buying this particular DAW wich seems so nice to use .
@@JohnDoew-hz8qt I'm currently also testing some DAWs on ARM linux, and it's indeed too bad that FL is not working on linux. I'm so used to that workflow. LMMS feels a bit similar though, on linux.
I just will like to ask you: why not CDBaby for example? does the country of residence has something to do with choosing the distributor? Being european(italian) what is your recomendation? Thank you very much in advance, good luck and hope things are going better for you now.
I hear some good things about CDbaby. There's no particular reason for me not to chose them, except for the part where they take 10% of your streaming income. But given what they charge, that's reasonable when you don't have a large amount of streams.
@spotify should take actions agains distributors, cause this services are executing scam campaing agains new artist, and never show evidences, and never payback the suscriptions. Tunecore and distrokid are scam over new artists and say is the #Spotify fault.
Man, this video is really cool, I'm going to try to make it... at the moment I make my music on a ''gamer'' headset hahaha, I still don't have the money to invest in it but I really want a pair of speakers or monitors, I will try to do what you did!
Good luck! But please note that I did have some material such as a measurement microphone already, so if you want to be really accurate, that's a nice thing to have. But you can of course also tune them by ear, although that might be a bit harder. Also, this isn't always cheaper than buying speakers. Perhaps a pair of second hand monitors might be a better idea. But if you like creating things, and want speakers that absolutely sound the way YOU like them to sound, this is the way to go. Don't forget that the materials to make this will also cost money, though.
How about trying to close the port like your ns-10s? Should get a tighter bass. Probably worth it to get new drivers in general if they are many years old.
I've experimented with that, but it also causes the bass driver to roll off even earlier. Right now I've replaced the bass driver with another one, after a long search for a driver that would fit in the box and would be appropriate for the size of the enclosure. The new driver is a lot more direct as well. I'll be making another video about that, but I'm still finetuning the system now.
Just switch to release your music on cassettes. Cassettes are on the rise again. Compared to paying a distributor, it costs a lot less to produce, you can even customise each released cassette, like an album for instance, and it earns a lot more per released song or track than releasing via streams.
Well for my upcoming producer album, which drops in 6 days, I'm at least also doing a limited run of physical CD's this time. Casettes would be nice as well, but I've still got to figure out how to best approach that. I doubt I'll be able to cover my expenses, but like you say, it at least earns a lot more per released song.
Respect to you for taking it as far as you did and not backing down! The fact that Amuse refused to even discuss things makes them look completely untrustworthy. I've been researching distributors and the waters look muddy around all of them. I'm glad I found your channel, though. Your beats are fresh!
Was just about to sign up with this lot on Pro for several new releases - staying well away from them now and sharing this vid on social media. Thanks for letting us know about this bunch - another dirty side of the music industry (bunch of dickheads!)
@@zozib3y I signed up with Landr in the end (I also have older accounts with Octiive & Distrokid). Distrokid has it's moments, but Octiive have been really solid for me for years. Landr Seem great so far - only a week in with them!
Nothing more than I showed in this video. I now tried doing a GDPR request for the proper data (after someone here suggested that), so I can know who exactly provided what data, but up until now they are refusing to provide me that data. I'm now with EmuBands, a Scottish distributor, and so far things have been going good, but I'm still afraid that similar things might happen in the future, so I'm a bit wary. Sorry if this is a bit vague, but there's just not a lot to tell.
Sorry, forgot to mention that I at least got my money back trough my credit card provider by sending them all the proof I had. This whole thing cost me much more than what I regained by that, but it is what it is.
I'd love to use them, but because I manage releases with a lot of different artists, it becomes expensive really quickly, as you need to pay extra for every artist, and for every feature you'd like as well (where some other distributors provide that at no extra charge). If I was a solo artist though, I'd go for them in a heartbeat.
Probably, yes, but a human should be able to differentiate between that. That's where AI might fall short. The fact that they refuse to reconsider and just block my account is criminal.
Wait, Amuse apparently have their own systen to detect fake/bot streams? Based on what? Spotify et al dont share the type of data that woul be needed for Amuse to come to that conclusion.
And they're ALSO claiming that whatever system they have, is so good and reliable that it can "easily" detect fraudulent activity. That's one hell of an unsubstantiated claim.
What is the noise coming from, could you enclose the amplifier in a EMI sheild? and use coiled with an insulation sheild on the wire / and a ferrite ring? If the noise is coming from the circuit itself only thing that pops into my head is a better opamp.
I have not heard the 50s. According to the specs, the 65s should have a deeper bass response, and can go 3dB louder. Other than that they should have a similar sound signature.
I saw this now, so inspiring. my Adam A7X broke (one transformer started humming), so I bought the A77H, but man, recycling is really what I should have done :)
I never had issues with routenote until i tried amuse with one new release. This amuse problem happened in a month. Since then, I have been having issues with routenote. NOTHING went through.
That's terrible. It seems all digital distributors are now doing this. Fault lies with Spotify and their amateur IT systems that have trigger-happy "detection", plus Spotify don't wish to pay royalties if they can find a loop-hole out (e.g. alleging fake streams, and a song has under 1000 streams?.. No pay-out, etc). Spotify also apparently threatening to charge distributors $10 per artist they identify as using fake streams, so even a false positive results in the distributor going nuclear and closing your account. Music industry has always been scammy, run by greasy scam artists. Spotify and these distributors are just digitized greasy scam artists.
Hey there. I've heard these next to eachother, and they are both excellent speakers, and you can't go wrong with either of them. They were both in my top 3 for my budget at the time (together with the Neumann KH120). The Genelec has a really impressive sound for its small size, low power consumption, and to my ears it sounds a little lower-midrange-forward. So if those are attributes you like, that might influence your decision. That being said, my personal preference goes out to the Focal Shape 65. I like the tweeter better. The Focals can also go a little louder, if that's important to you. I hope that helps!
The same thing happened to me this week with CDbaby. They closed my account with no explanation and are taking all my royalties and will not refund the distribution fees
Amuse is a label, the only reason it was free was because they were looking for artists to sign. Apparently they have found what they are looking for because this is happening to a lot of artists who use their service
Them having a free tier was one of the main reasons I used them. I mainly do collabs, so the artists I worked with were often on free tiers while I was on the "Pro" tier. It's crazy that they do this to people who are actually paying for their service though. This is just speculation, but perhaps it was because there were too many free accounts connected to my account or something?
@@SirFreak yes they told every one that they ban the same as u was told. i was too and last year my artist from Uk was told the same but his music wasnt even on spotify lmao i start to think this is free money glich for distributions. Every time same old spotify reported artifical streaming bla bla bla classic kinda sad.
@@drakehasbula5557So he was told he had botted songs on Spotify, even though his music wasn't on Spotify? Wow.. that definitely seems like some shady stuff
@@SirFreak yes this is the thing! some shady moves by distributions tbh. Even told them how its this possible if music isnt on spotify but got reply that acc is terminate with no explanation of how its possible. we dont push our music on spotify no more and since then 2years after no problems so my best advice is dont put ur music on spotify if u dont want to get scammed
🚨 NIGHT MODE 🚨 for Behringer X touch. Will illuminate the the button's LEDs at different velocities when on or off. Which would allow a better sense of direction across the behringer console in darker studio settings. Would this be useful yes or no? comment on why it would or wouldn't work for your workflow. I’ve been in contact with behringer’s team and they are planning to implement this feature!!! Only thing is it has no time frame. If I can get people to like this idea and tag behringer , they said priority for this would be ASAP. Please like and tag Behringer if you would like to have a NIGHT MODE FEATURE #Behringer
My account has been disabled and frozen🥲. I want to ask, what about my old songs that have been released, can I still reupload them on other distributions without a license? because I want to use another distribution and I want to reupload all my old songs that were released on amuse.Pls,i Try to contact amuse but they not reply me.
Hey, sorry to hear that. You should still be able to reupload your songs trough another distributer. I'm not quite sure what you mean with "without a license" though? If you don't have the required rights for a sample or beat, it's best you get that cleared before distributing the song.
I'm sorry to hear that. I have been able to at least get my money back trough my credit card provider, so perhaps you should try to gather as much evidence as possible as well, and submit that to your credit card provider. It won't make up for all the damage, of course, but it's something.
@@SirFreak Thanks for the advice, but the money I earned wasn't even more than $5 so I won't even try. I think I'll start using distrokid, what do you think?
I just had the same thing happen to me last week after paying the Pro Fee, frozen account, then everything removed. If I can help in anyway let me know. Sorry we ended up in this boat, and that such people and companies like Amuse exist.
Hey, I'm sorry to hear that! I had some luck with at least getting my subscription fee back, by contacting my credit card provider. They opened an investigation, and ended up giving me back my money for this year. Of course the damage that is done by the time that all the music is offline, and all the time that has to be put in to reupload everything is still a big issue. But I'm slowly getting everything back online. I hope you'll be able to do the same thing!
Thanks for the video. I have been using Amuse and I am so frustrated about many things, most importantly for the fact that according to the subscription they should get back to my messages within 72 hours and I have been contacting them for a month now through all the different ways possible (the chat bubble, email, ticket, instagram, comment,...) and have heard NOTHING. I don’t even remember what was my problem I wanted to solve. Now it’s just "how the hell can I contact you if I have a question?" and so I have been researching about the other distributors but they all have something hugely negative about them. DistroKid is annoyingly trying to get more money of you, Tunecore is a scam, Landr is too expensive, CD Baby has very bad customer service. I don’t really know what to do May I ask which distributor you picked and what you decided to do at the end?
I now switched to EmuBands. For what I need, they are not cheap (I'm on their highest tier plan), but getting in touch with them has been very easy. I'm pretty sure support speed might be different if you're on a lower tier plan though. I hope I'll have more luck with them, I guess only time will tell.
Definitely feel like a control surface can speed up work flow. Got this one on the way… Question about your script: Have you gotten a chance to update it since this Video?
Sadly, not yet (apart from some small bugfixes). I'm first finishing my new album, after that I'll probably work on the script a little. So you can probably expect updates in a couple of months.
@@SirFreak I have a question would there be a way to get all leds that aren’t in use to be white until pushed. That way for dark studios it would be easier to see, also to activate leads on the transport buttons? Does this make since?
@@ToneyLocoTV As far as I know, button lights are either on or of, so there are no specific colors that we can enable per button, although some do have their own color. It can definitely make sense to invert the transport controls, because I often find them really hard to see as well in the dark. Perhaps something I can look into!
Hi, do you think I can use my existing 2.0 speakers that are supposed to have a very flat freq response instead of buying studio monitors ? Here's a graph for the measurement alongside some JBL and Kali monitors. I intend to run these through the headphones output of an audio interface. I want use them primarily to track guitar. Is this a bad idea and could I potentially damage my speakers even if I am careful with the levels of the headphone out. imgur slash a slash NsVF8Vq Also, is there any way to EQ them like you did (or by using an EQ plugin in the DAW), to make the response even flatter ?
I'm not able to see that image, but let me try to answer your question. As far as I understand, it depends. If it's an active speaker (meaning it has built in amplification) you might get sound out of it, but you'll have to keep your headphone levels down, so the headphone amplifier does not send the audio clipping into your speaker amplifier. Depending on the headphone output, you might get different levels of quality, but that's something you will need to assess for yourself. However, if the speakers are passive, don't connect passive speakers without amplifier directly to your headphone output. Always have a speaker amplifier in between. If you don't, the impedance differences would cause a load on the headphone amp that is too high, and it might kill the headphone amp. Disclaimer: I'm definitely no expert on this, so what I'm saying here might be wrong as well. I do wonder why you are trying to run these out of the headphone output, and not just out of the monitor outputs or line outputs though? If you want to, you can do corrective EQ inside the DAW as well. I've seen professional mixers do that in occasions as a temporary solution. Note that this might also cause the phase to change a bit, and you'll need to take it off when exporting. You also won't be able to use the corrective EQ outside of your DAW then. You might also want to take a look at hardware EQ's, or a box like ARC Studio. Or the software SoundID Reference (Sonarworks). Wether the speakers you are talking about can be used as studio monitors totally depends on the speakers. In studio monitors, it's important that the speakers are accurate, low distortion / resonances, and have a linear frequency response. Basically, you need to be able to hear as much flaws in the music as possible. Some HIFI speakers can be used to mix on, some are less suited. Them having a flat frequency response is probably a plus, so it's worth a try. But note that a flat response is just one piece of the puzzle.
@@SirFreak thanks a lot for the detailed reply. I'll explore the eq solutions you've mentioned. The speakers are Swan D1080 Mkii+. They are active bookshelf speakers. If you google image search "Swan D1080 Mk2 frequency response", you'll see one of the results is of a fairly flat frequency response. I'm taking this with a pinch of salt though as it may be manufactured generated graph and not tested by a neutral party. I could run the standard line outs into the speakers..not sure why I thought they'd be too hot for the speakers. The interface Im getting is a Motu M2.
