We had an event on Saturday where the host paid for prints but wanted to charge guests $10 per photo. The guests were visibly upset since they had already paid a lot to attend the event and expected the photo booth to be free. This led to an awkward situation because they assumed we were the ones trying to charge them, not the host.
I answered this question once when it was asked in a group. I told them that your client should pay for the service. I also told them to just pass out your cards and connect with people. When I started my 360 business, I did that once and it was the worst experience ever. I was there for 12 hrs and made less than $100. I tell everyone who want to do that is that’s the quickest way to not be taken seriously. Most people look at you like you are begging them for money. Now, I am insulted when someone ask me to do that.
I so appreciate this education, as a new Photo Booth owner, there’s lots of things I don’t know and have not been exposed to as of yet. So for all this great info, I am thankful!🙏
OMG, I'm a nurse and a pb as well, and boy did she hit the nail on the head. When you don't see your patients making progress it can be sad, and stressful, but working as a pb is such an outlet and brings so much joy to people if only for a short while. Thank you for sharing your story-best wishes to you and the boss in training :)
Great podcast Nicole & Catalina. I’ve just ordered my 2nd Salsa. Due to the UK possibly this week. My first booth is more of an add on to my DJ business and 2nd one will be to hire out in its own right as i start my hire side of the business now I’m getting older haha. I really wanted the guac but it’s the price of a salsa in shipping & VAT to the UK. Will have to see how this takes off with a new / separate event business. May have to bite the bullet and get the guac and Tortilla latter on. Lots of good info here. 📸
