It's Silicone from manufacturing. 1 drop transfers to hundred of pieces of glass. Alcohol based cleaners won't lift it. Denatured Alcohol maybe. Wear protective gloves for that.
Would you be interested in helping a nice lady in Vermont ship to Audi Fox windshields to Alabama. She says she will not pack them nor ship them. How am I to get these two windshields I need? I used to do Craigslist gigs. On very heavy items I was taking a big chance that they might steal the items. They were so heavy the prices were around thousands of dollars to ship a $250 concrete fireplace. I got lucky it worked every time. But on these windshields she needs to receive cartons and packing that the windshields can be put in and then somebody needs to go there pack them up and carry them to the shipping company or something like that let me know thank you
It should be fairly tight, so it can't move around in the box. Also. Box it so that it is as easy for you to pick up and move around. If it's easy for you. It's easy for the delivery driver. Glass should stand on its edge, so mark the box "this side up".
Thanks so much for posting this video. It was snowing while I changed mine out, and having the right tools already in hand made it a much faster job. That tip about moving the clip nuts up to the correct hole definitely saves a few cuss words. I'd recommend starting those screws and then moving the clips upward and inward as far as the holes allow before installing the grille. I'm going to box up my old lamps assemblies complete, just for later reference when changing a bulb or making alignment adjustments.
Not sure. I have only dealt with USA and Canada. DHL will probably ship it, but importing costs are unknown to me for your country. Crate it with wood box though.
Thankyou for your rispans if you know anybody thath shipping low cost let me know I pay you for averything thankyou my imail is nunzioformica6@gmail.com
Awesome vid; exactly what I was looking for! I also need to swap out my bulbs with new ones but I am having a hard time finding out what kind they are. I have the same model Sprinter as you. From my research I’ve been able to come up with H1 and H7 but don’t know whats for what. Using @4:10 as a diagram, to the furthest left you’ve got your marker light (won’t be changing this), but as for the other 3 I have no clue what bulb model is for what. Can you also point out which is the high beam, low beam or fog light behind the panel here @4:10? Some sources do not mention a fog light, instead a “front light”. Wondering if you could point me in the right direction. I have 2 of these 3 bulbs out. I guess my “main” is the only one working. Of those 3, when you get out the van and look at the driver’s side lights, its the top left bulb as the only one working. Trying to buy replacements in pairs and might as well get all new bulbs, but need some help! Thanks!
Just following up. Perhaps there is no fog light in this headlight, which is a separate installation (am I right?) So I’m guessing these three bulbs are the High Beam, Low Beam and “Front light”? (I’m seeing this is maybe called “front fog” too.) Just need to know where is what and what type of bulbs. x2 H1, and x1 H7? 🤷♂️
The low beam is H7, and the high beam is an H1. The low beams are always the furthest out. MI E did not have Fog lights. It's easiest to swap like for like. If you go from. Standard to a Fog light, you will need some custom wiring for them to work. I'm glad I was able to help you out. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks so much for sharing! This will help me tackle a project I was avoiding. Also, removing the left/driver's headlight is necessary to get to the charge air hose to Intercooler connection to replace that hose (common cause of P0299 low boost pressure code.)
I was hoping to see how to release the wire connector from the backside of the headlight assembly. Is there something on the plug and/or connector side to slide, depress, squeeze, etc ? or just it just pull apart ??? THank you for sharing your how-to video !
Thank you -@@GlassRestoration , so it just pulls apart or is there some kind of locking tab, or should I say was there a locking tab and not there any longer ? HaHa
@@stevephilblad8474 There is that tab at the top which needs to be pulled up to release, they often break, in which case a small hook pick under the lock tab (come in from the bottom) will release it. For future readers obv
Working with extension ladders daily for years and receiving safety training on OSHA guidelines I can not recommend this set up. Personally having witnessed accidents with ladders, I find this set up to be extremely dangerous in the event of a ladder sliding out. It is not safe to be tied to a ladder while it is falling. Having a ladder wrapped around your body will injure you more than an impact on ground alone. This configuration can also cause head injuries since it may pull your body parallel with the ground.
Maybe cheap imitations, which there are several, have a folding problem. Seriously, never has this been an issue with us. I will likely buy another when I outfit another crew.
Where did you buy that measuring device at the end? I'm searching through Mitutoyo's website and I can't find anything that looks like the in your video.
I have been selling car parts on ebay but never sold large items because I didn't know how to ship them. I have some used auto glass and that's how I came across your video. I used to work at ups hub as well. I haven't used greyhound shipping yet, but you can ship from station to station through them, or there's another partner they use that will ship door to door, station to door, etc. www.busfreighter.com/about-us/how-it-works/
Ryan B, I can't recommend a specific model. Any single 12 volt horn would work. If you go with multiple horns, you may need to run an additional power wire directly from the battery through a relay. Lots of higher end cars have dual or triple horns that you can get from a salvage yard for cheap.
Funny you talk about ladder safety and yet you set one of the ladder legs on a piece of metal ( the step platform from the ladder) on top of rocks. The pressure from you walking up the ladder could easily make that plate slide. OSHA would have love to see that.
Thanks, I'll send them a note. The last set I bought on Ebay had a fit issue...everything was good except the socket for the fog was too big. Had to pay to ship them for return. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again!
