How to replace a headlight on a Sprinter Van. We polished them clear 3 years ago. This time they needed replaced due to a stone that struck and broke one of the lenses. I will show you how to replace the whole headlight unit, and you only need basic mechanical skills. Tools needed are a T30 Torx, T20 Torx driver, A flat screw driver to start the plastic rivets out, and about 40 minutes time. This will go much faster for someone with experience with these. Save hundreds of dollars compared with dealer pricing. www.glassrestorationinc.com. #dodgesprinter #mercedessprinter

Lol, sprinters are a learning curve.. I repaired modern diesel locomotives and they were way easier than these sprinter contraptions.. nice video.

Thanks so much for posting this video. It was snowing while I changed mine out, and having the right tools already in hand made it a much faster job. That tip about moving the clip nuts up to the correct hole definitely saves a few cuss words. I'd recommend starting those screws and then moving the clips upward and inward as far as the holes allow before installing the grille. I'm going to box up my old lamps assemblies complete, just for later reference when changing a bulb or making alignment adjustments.

Thanks so much for sharing! This will help me tackle a project I was avoiding. Also, removing the left/driver's headlight is necessary to get to the charge air hose to Intercooler connection to replace that hose (common cause of P0299 low boost pressure code.)

The first time takes more time than subsequent times. It's a pretty easy job now. I'm glad I could help.

Awesome vid; exactly what I was looking for! I also need to swap out my bulbs with new ones but I am having a hard time finding out what kind they are. I have the same model Sprinter as you. From my research I’ve been able to come up with H1 and H7 but don’t know whats for what. Using @4:10 as a diagram, to the furthest left you’ve got your marker light (won’t be changing this), but as for the other 3 I have no clue what bulb model is for what. Can you also point out which is the high beam, low beam or fog light behind the panel here @4:10? Some sources do not mention a fog light, instead a “front light”. Wondering if you could point me in the right direction. I have 2 of these 3 bulbs out. I guess my “main” is the only one working. Of those 3, when you get out the van and look at the driver’s side lights, its the top left bulb as the only one working. Trying to buy replacements in pairs and might as well get all new bulbs, but need some help! Thanks!

Just following up. Perhaps there is no fog light in this headlight, which is a separate installation (am I right?) So I’m guessing these three bulbs are the High Beam, Low Beam and “Front light”? (I’m seeing this is maybe called “front fog” too.) Just need to know where is what and what type of bulbs. x2 H1, and x1 H7? 🤷‍♂️

The low beam is H7, and the high beam is an H1. The low beams are always the furthest out. MI E did not have Fog lights. It's easiest to swap like for like. If you go from. Standard to a Fog light, you will need some custom wiring for them to work. I'm glad I was able to help you out. Thanks for commenting.

Do you have a recommendation for a louder/bigger horn thats compatible for 06 Sprinter? Thank you.

Ryan B, I can't recommend a specific model. Any single 12 volt horn would work. If you go with multiple horns, you may need to run an additional power wire directly from the battery through a relay. Lots of higher end cars have dual or triple horns that you can get from a salvage yard for cheap.

I was hoping to see how to release the wire connector from the backside of the headlight assembly. Is there something on the plug and/or connector side to slide, depress, squeeze, etc ? or just it just pull apart ??? THank you for sharing your how-to video !

@GlassRestoration 4 года назад
It's a bit of a pain. I used a small flathead screwdriver and a good tug. Not saying that is the proper way.

Thank you -@@GlassRestoration , so it just pulls apart or is there some kind of locking tab, or should I say was there a locking tab and not there any longer ? HaHa
@ShaunHensley
@ShaunHensley 2 года назад
@@stevephilblad8474 There is that tab at the top which needs to be pulled up to release, they often break, in which case a small hook pick under the lock tab (come in from the bottom) will release it. For future readers obv

I've tried to find replacements for my 2006 w/fog lights, but haven't had any luck. Do you have a line on them aftermarket?

I have seen them on Ebay, That's where I bought mine. They are not OEM, but I could not find a single difference.

Thanks, I'll send them a note. The last set I bought on Ebay had a fit issue...everything was good except the socket for the fog was too big. Had to pay to ship them for return. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again!
