How did I not see this vid sooner? I recently picked up mine from Sydney (Live in Syd). Luckily they had 4 in the boutique. Very underrated because it also sparks up a convo when i throw it on. The rep explained to me that the case back is gold plated (so the patina doesn't affect the skin, the dial is bronze and wont patina as its protected by the glass and that the allow has special properties which won't develop that green some hate. They didn't put it on the crown which might explain some green if you look closely at the crown teeth. I must say your one looks beautiful and after it patinas I found the watch looks very warm and smooth as appose to wen it was new which looked almost gold and sharp. For those who are in doubt, don't be. Best bronze watch in the market I would say.

Bah, puffs. If you buy a Rolex, wear it. The marks, scratches etc can be all be sorted with a master polisher. Putting shitty stickers all over it. Nah. Just says I can afford it. But I dare not mark it. Fuck that. Pass it here and slap it on the wrist. Wear that with pride not fear of a scratch!!! That’s not how it’s meant to be with watches. Silly. Could of spent the 100 quid on a polish in 3/5 years.
Good for you. Wear it in good health. I believe one day is unheard of according to some of the talk going around. I got my eye on the same watch. I’ve been told months and maybe a year. That sucks but what can you do. Enjoy it. 👍
The bluesy would have a bit more versatility for me so I'd side with it, although I do like rose gold more than yellow gold and I like the look of the bezel better with the gmt function. I wish they offered the rootbeer on a jubilee - then it would be my first choice.
No contest: For me, the Root Beer is probably the most beautiful watch Rolex makes at this time. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it. It’s stunning!
Beautiful watch. I don’t understand why people are so worried about the scratches. Watches are meant to be worn. There is nothing more beautiful than patina and scratches on yellow gold.

I love both, ultimately going with whichever I’m lucky enough to get from an AD first. Hoping for the Bluesy though, the glidelock clasp is honestly one of the most useful wearability features out there. Plus, I like that the bluesy goes back to the ‘80s. Root Beer is absolutely class though.
I vote CHNR. (1) Not really a yellow gold guy. Too much flash and doesn’t look particularly good against my skin. (2) rootbeer is probably the most unique looking watch in Rolex’s otherwise staid catalog. (3) more likely to use the CHNR for its tool purpose than the submariner. That is, I’ll almost certainly wear the rootbeer during an international trip and use the GMT function, whereas I’m never wearing a 25k Rolex during a dive. That said, the sub is an undeniably beautiful piece! Congrats on having both. Best of all worlds, as Dr. Pangloss would say.

The Sub has more functionality than the GMT II - It is a watch which I can take into the water without getting nervous. Also the bezel is way more sharp and well designed. It can be used as a timer which is very practical. The second time zone is way overrated
No disrespect but too much kissing butt. Please people don’t buy what you don’t want just because they offer a Rolex model that you weren’t interested.
Got the call yesterday for a bluesy and yes it's my local AD. Agree with everything you've said.. I've only been on the list since March. I feel I may have been a bit lucky as Rolex aftermarket prices have dipped and possibly I wasn't the first one on the list offered the watch? Anyway.. I'm amazed and happy! Great video.. thanks!
