Welcome back! Had a good chance to get these side by side to see the small and large differences! OP41 Yellow what a watch! That's my current top of the list watch at the moment and ill be super buzzing to get the call up for this one!
I went to the AD recently and was able to try both on. I really went there believing the Root Beer was my clear favorite amongst the two, having never cared for the Bluesy. But after that visit I found myself totally underwhelmed with the Root Beer and the Bluesy was awesome. To me, its not even close, Bluesy all day.
I love both, ultimately going with whichever I’m lucky enough to get from an AD first. Hoping for the Bluesy though, the glidelock clasp is honestly one of the most useful wearability features out there. Plus, I like that the bluesy goes back to the ‘80s. Root Beer is absolutely class though.
100% the Rootbeer! I tried on both the Rootbeer & Bluesy today at the AD & while I love the Blusey, the Rootbeer just looks like such a class watch with a real subtleness about it with the more toned down Everose gold.
@@suffolkwatchcollectors2665 I agree there. I just found with the Rootbeer that the rose gold “warmed” the whole profile of the watch up & gave a richer tone, whereas the yellow gold on the bluesy is more flashy, but still classy in its own way.
No contest: For me, the Root Beer is probably the most beautiful watch Rolex makes at this time. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it. It’s stunning!
Ty for the video i actually have both and in my opinion the Rootbeer is stunning in person. Before purchase i was undecided on the Rootbeer but when my AD called me it was beautiful...
Rose gold GMT are the bomb and I'm torn between that and the full gold blue sub for the 30th! heavy on the grey market though the GMT but that much cost shouldn't effect your decision!
I know I can't believe the grey market price for the full gold GMT. Anywhere from £42-47k. Probably going to be a 3 year wait for one from an Ad though but Def worth the wait
I had a chance to buy both. I compare the 2 wore it but didn’t like how rootbeer blended in with my tan skin. I ended up with the going with the bluesy because it has better contrast against my skin color
The bluesy would have a bit more versatility for me so I'd side with it, although I do like rose gold more than yellow gold and I like the look of the bezel better with the gmt function. I wish they offered the rootbeer on a jubilee - then it would be my first choice.
I’m waiting on both . Was in AD over holidays they had both on display . Have to say reinforced my decision to look and bring both in . Perfect one two punch , both gorgeous and it’s hard to separate them ..
👍s up for your content - both watches are🤩 I’ve just purchased a V serial 2009 ‘Bluesy’ with the Flat Blue ‘Smurf’ Dial, partially stickered & unworn, from a reputable local Ex-Rolex AD (they were the original supplier of the watch who had taken it back in part-ex from a regular client of theirs). I had been considering adding a ‘Bluesy’ to my collection for years & preferred the ‘Smurf’ dial & gold text. Apart from missing ‘Hang Tags’ it was complete with a blank undated warranty card & original box. The ‘Smurf’ dial was only in production for 3 years & tones the watch down slightly compared with the sunburst dial. Despite having not been serviced for 13 years the tried & tested 3135 movement has gained only 3 seconds in 7 days!👍🙂
the rootbeer isn't that great imo. It has too many colors trying to work with eachother like the Rose gold, Steel, black dial, with a half choco bezel. The bluesy on the other hand has colors that just flow well together, simply just steel, blue, and gold.
The Sub has more functionality than the GMT II - It is a watch which I can take into the water without getting nervous. Also the bezel is way more sharp and well designed. It can be used as a timer which is very practical. The second time zone is way overrated
I vote CHNR. (1) Not really a yellow gold guy. Too much flash and doesn’t look particularly good against my skin. (2) rootbeer is probably the most unique looking watch in Rolex’s otherwise staid catalog. (3) more likely to use the CHNR for its tool purpose than the submariner. That is, I’ll almost certainly wear the rootbeer during an international trip and use the GMT function, whereas I’m never wearing a 25k Rolex during a dive. That said, the sub is an undeniably beautiful piece! Congrats on having both. Best of all worlds, as Dr. Pangloss would say.
It’s a GMT Master….it’s a market demand thing. Ps I know that AD as I have worked in the town for a number of years….maybe we could meet up sometime. I use a different AD in a different town and now have a really good relationship with them. I’m in Suffolk too.
