Great video Adam. You should get yourself along to the Tattershall Castle on the Thames (think it’s a pub now). It was one of the paddle steamers which used to transport people across the Humber before the bridge was built. Its sister the Lincoln Castle stood on Alexandra Dock in Grimsby for years until it was finally broken up for scrap. Sad times 😢
From the intro, title is misleading as intro shows Pylons on Swanscombe Peninsular and corresponding one in Essex both otside the M25 and Greater London.
Thanks for this Adam. I adore steam engines, there’s something very magical about them, it’s like if you listen very carefully you can hear them talk. Not so keen on boats but this beauty just might get me to go on the water. Stunning.
Any idea what the function is of the smaller crankshafts? Considering you are very interested in steam engines in general, have you started a study in mechanical engineering?
@@Adam-Gates-Mudlark there’s a bit of confusion over James ll’s capture. The way I understand it he was heading to France but crossed from the mainland to the island in disguise and was recognised by the people of Elmley who robbed him and turned him in to the authorities at Faversham but this is disputed by Faversham who claim they caught him, there’s even a plaque there claiming this. I think you said there was a winch across the water at Harty but that’s further along. Current thoughts are there have been 5 kingsferry bridges but could have been more. I don’t mean to pick holes mate, it’s a great thing you’re doing. All the best. By the way I’m very local on the mainland side and have been researching this particular area for many years now and there’s so much more😃👍
Love seeing your videos Adam, what a great cod bottle and to see it pulled straight from the ground, super. Also great to listen to someone who has the same accent as me, we’re a rare bread nowdays, at least it’s rare from where I live.
Hi Adam, I always enjoy your recordings. But the coincidence is that you find a beautiful large shard with a sepia-colored scene. This exact same shard was also found by Alex van de Northern mudlarks In their latest video. Coincidentally, anyway.
Just found your channel, thanks for showing this vid. Id love to mudlark but wouldnt know where to start or where to go or what to look out for. Think its a really interesting hobby.
Hi Adam can I ask a favour, could you show me the pieces of crockery you see, you dont have to take them....but Id love to see them. In Australia there is no old dump sites where I can fossick and find old treasures. Best wishes to you.
