Barron has to clear waivers in order to go to Laval

Dvorak is an under developed player. Perhaps still over payed but capable of much more than what he has done in his time with the Habs.

Dobes! MVP. Beck and Kappie need to be in Laval to develop. Yes, Baron looked good, more mature at puck possession and more physical. Hutson is fun but needs space that is not always there as he makes an extra move often with his head down, that makes him vulnerable. Reinbacher, as the youngest, still 19? Or 20 now, has great mobility and will be a top pairing in two years.

2 games with Mailloux in the lineup... no goals scored against. 1 game without him and they lose 2-1! Hutson looks great, but will they win with him??

Question: which current member of the organization is going to play with the most teams over the course of his career I'm looking for someone who can play in the NHL but isn't quite good enough to get a long term contract but also has certain qualities teams want at the trade deadline?

You're thinking too much on Mailloux. He took part in one game with a strong focus on offense, and in another with a clear focus on Defense. As for Reinbacher he's the only Defense first righty we have since the trade of Kovacevic, but with better skating, smarter opponents shot situations prevention, cleaner zone exits, a tremendously more accurate first pass and a deceivingly good shot. So him being sent down is not as clear a given as what you said. What this teams needs the most from past seasons is to stop hemorrhaging as many goals. So if Gühle cannot come back in time for the start of the season, and if Mailloux is still deemed a bit too light defensively, then Reinbacher it is (if not both of them).

Gaww I love how the team is coming together! Having the rookies finally on the ice and trading in some vets who have the drive to take them under their wings to develop the last oomph that's needed in the NHL. I'm also seriously happy for Laine to have the chance at a new start and find himself again as well. Let's goooo.

d reinbacher will never b better than mishkov me thinks...5th overall fireable offense
@tylerlussier1896
@tylerlussier1896 3 дня назад
Reinbacher was never gonna be better offensively than Michkov lmao… That’s just nonsense to actually think that, But Reinbacher will eat 25+ minutes a night giving you solid defensive play and giving you 40-45 points a season… The Habs got Demidov who has the potential to be better than Michkov, And Demidov is almost 6’1 instead of Michkov being 5’10… Montreal doesn’t need another 5’10 winger especially when they offer nothing except for scoring.. We now have a winger who can be better than Michkov and a RHD who can play on the first pairing alongside Hutson. This team is way better off with Demidov and Reinbacher rather than Michkov and Demidov…. Reinbacher is an important piece to the puzzle take him away and this teams chances at winning a cup is slim… LOOK AT TORONTO 🤣🤣🤣 ALLLLLL THE TALENT in the world and they can never win in the playoffs because they have NEVER had a true Top 4 Right Handed D who can help keep goals off the board when they need it in the playoffs… Reinbacher is 19 years old lol, Ds don’t make the NHL usually until they are 21-22 years old and if they do make it before then, they usually don’t reach their potential until they are 21-22 years old… Let em go to Laval play big minutes get use to North American ice and he will start to expand on the already elite defensive skills he has and he also has a very good shot from the point, Probably the potential to have the best first pass out of our zone when he’s ready… also Michkov is how you spell his name, And 5th overall for the best D from the 2023 draft 🤣 not really a fire the GM worthy… Reinbacher is the best D from that draft hands down so far. Chill and let this kid develop. In the rookie Camp games against Toronto Reinbacher look good and he also made a great play that lead to a goal… This was his first game in the pre season and he didn’t even look bad he was solid and Jersey didn’t even score a goal…

It is way to early to decide who will have a better career. These players were drafted for entirely different reasons by different teams. Chances are they will both work out fine.

Ian called Kapanen a kid which isn't entirely wrong but I'll just remind everyone that he's 21 with a bunch of Liiga experience against grown men. I'm not surprised he looks NHL ready but I am surprised he's playing this well.

Woke up this morning ready to watch the game spoiler free and got my first reminder to turn off notifications and stay internet free until I can watch the game, my overcast notification gave me the Locked on podcast notification 5-0 🤪 All notifications now off! As for the game Hutson is superb entering the Offensive Zone at 3/4 speed. He busts ankles but in the defensive zone he going to give up a ton of goals. He was stripped for pace on defence even when he started ahead of the attacker twice in the first period. Play a line that turns over pucks well against a Hutson line and it would be big trouble. Laine and Dach have a lot of rust to shake off, I hope the fans are patient. Barrons time is over, sadly.

For the young players; they treat exhibition games like the playoffs. The vets try to build up so that they hit their stride when the season starts. The last couple of games will show more.

I think we need to see Mesar in an environement where he's settled. The last 2 years he was moving alot from one place to ther other. OHL, then World Juniors, then Slovakia then Montreal, back to Slovakia, Montreal, OHL, WJC, OHL. This is the first year where he spent all his summer in one place (Slovakia) and now he joined the team in Montreal and now he'll be settling in Laval 1-2 years, he'll be close to his friend. This is the where we'll be able to judge him properly. Mesar is a wonderkid, he was playing with 20 years old players when he was 15 and he was dominating the league. Then 16-17 he was playing vs men in the Slovakian Pro league. So really need to be patient and see how he does in the Pros in Laval before throwing the towel

I will say this I do not expect the habs to make the playoffs, but i do expect them to leapfrog over at least buffalo and ottawa, finishing 6th in the atlantic with 85-88 points. That would be what i call a successful season for now

Actually I'm hoping most of the players just continue to improve: 1. Suzuki - 7 more goals to hit a 40 goal player 2. Caufield - 5 more goals to hit 33 3. Slafkovsky - 7 more goals for 27 4. Dach - 25 goals ? ? ? 5. Newhooke 20 goals ? ? 6. Laine - 25 goals ? 7. Roy - 20 goals ? 8. Hutson - 10 goals if he plays on the PP call me a dreamer but I'm hopeful.

Having watched the majority of my in person games at the old Forum , one the vivid memories I would have is when walking into the seating area, was how pristine white the ice surface was, that coupled with the white jersey’s made it seem like you were entering heaven and only the Habs where the only home team that played their homes games in Heaven

Great show, having seen Brisbois play, the problem was that his offence did not make up for his defensive liabilities. I don’t see Reinbacher running a power play , I see him as a better version of Eric Desjardins, who was highly underrated, played his best when it mattered. He will be on the ice defending the lead. He will be our Adam Foote, or Kevin Lowe, he will score between 8-12 goals a yr. You need those type of players to win , and we will have one of the best. I think George misses the point on what he is expected to be. Yes we could/should have picked Michkov but as we have seen in Toronto, Edmonton always picking highly skilled offensive forwards doesn’t always win championships. ( unless you are picking Mcdavid who puts the team on his back)

Laraque and others in the media like Simone Boisvert have an impact on the minds of impressionable fans. Go on any live chat during a podcast and you see people making the same remarks about Reinbacher they heard earlier in the day on radio. There are people who can't get over the Michkov pass and they love to declare that it was the biggest mistake since trading Roy. It happened with the Subban trade to the same degree. Flash and dash trump logic.

Criticism of Reinbacher is totally unjustified. He is 19 years old and has played 2 years of pro hockey. Already one of the most sound defensive D that we have. Does all the right things in his own end. Showed poise with the puck making good first passes. Not flashy so perhaps a lot of the good that he does goes unnoticed. A lot of reviews from media scouts were very positive about his game. Most of the criticism came from fans and media that focus only on the offensive side of the game. I think a year in Laval is going to start to unlock his offensive game which is untapped. He rushed the puck more in game 2 of the prospect game. His 2 assists were legit offensive plays showing his potential. Most teams would love to have a D who can play 20-25 minutes and protect a lead at crucial points in the game. He gains possession of the puck while defending and makes great passes to the forwards up the ice to transition on offence.
