I thought Mesar looked pretty damn good from the highlights I seen anyway, wasn't able to catch full games.

Beck, Davidson and Thorpe were the 3 forward that standed out the most imo.

For the mailbag, Gally says that only 2 or 3 will eventually make the team, I think atleast 4 if not 6 but if you had to pick three who are they, me it is Hudson, Mailloux and Reinbacher. Beck is my 4, Engstrom 5th, Xhejka 6th. Mesar will make it somewhere but I think he gets traded.

Beck will need to battle with Kapanen for a spot in main camp.. Kapanen returns to Europe if he doesn’t make the NHL club.. Beck simply gets sent to Laval so this gives Kapanen the advantage for a spot on the habs roster. Kapanen is nhl ready as well

Mailbag question: do you think the leafs and habs management would entertain a trade involving justin barron being sent to the leafs for nick robertson? Moving barron would allow mailloux or struble to earn a spot in the lineup.

I have a feeling Montreal will surprise like the Devils in 2022. If Dach stays healthy, Laine and Caufield find their scoring touch again, Slaf and Suzuki continue their steady progression, and Anderson get back to its true 20/25 goal self, why not! Especially with Hutson in the lineup. Despite Matteson last year, there was not another defenseman creating offense. Now we’ll have two pairs able to do just that! And, lets not sleep on Roy, he’s been underrated for years now and always produced. I’d be willing to bet Habs will make the playoffs. The chemistry and engagement of this team seems special.
