When I built my building I did as you did but was also required to put Styrofoam around building 1foot deep and 1foot out. Underneath that I buried galvanized chicken fencing at 2 feet out from building. This completely annoys ground hogs skunks or any other critters who would dig under your slab. After 10 years no problems.

OK, but as a 60-something guy who has all the experience, do you really want that or a guy who cracks a smile? Did you stop to think that it could be generational? Don’t cut your nose off to spite your face. Maybe he was a bit nervous in the interview. As someone who’s interviewed literally thousands of people, I can tell you that the person you see at the interview is rarely the person you’ll get as a worker. It’s only a part of the process. You can’t expect people to know what you’re looking for as far as humour and culture goes. Most people will air in the serious side, because they think you’re not looking for jokers. I’d rather have a serious person who gets the job done than some clown who’s always trying to impress others through wise cracks and joking about. Bottom line, I wouldn’t hire someone like that.
Your culture isn't the same as our culture. Someone who doesn't fit with our culture and core values may be a perfect fit for yours. Either way doesn't make us, you or them wrong or right.
As somebody who does concrete and had to put these and it’s not fun to finish😂 nor easy it was nice. We didn’t have to deal with a plate in the ground like this his has a system where he can just pump it out from the outside
