I went to a few dealerships in the beginning when looking to buy my own smaller camper and they all said the same thing that they can't keep them long enough on the store floor because they all sell quick and are in high demand!!! They even told me if I ever have one that they'll buy it from me guaranteed!! fast forward 1 year later when I went to sell my big rig they told me that they're not buying big used campers anymore but if i had a brand new one or a small mini camper that they would buy that instead guaranteed! Goes to show you where the market is at right now. People definitely want these instead!!!
@AlFonso-p6p we most definitely enjoy the simplicity of it. It is just so easy to pull anywhere I need it to go, and it fits in the smallest of spaces.
@@GetOutBeHappy It's a godsend when you can't backup an RV or have no idea how to park it! Just go outside. Unhook it. And push it with your hand where it needs to go! :) Awww yeahhhh!!!! XD
Some advice if you're ever feeling flustered in your camper just get as drunk as possible and it'll fix any and all problems you may be experiencing. I swear by this! It absolutely makes things better. Also getting sauced helps alleviate physical pain (if you find yourself injured) plus sterilize wounds and can even turn a boring outing into a fun loving gathering. My mum says it can also fight the flu! This might however differ from person to person but yeah I generally recommend carrying a nice big bottle of the good stuff. ;)
I'm sporting the runaway rouser and i stupidly did the opposite. I switched my factory heavy duty tongue jack with a cheaper walmart side mount tongue jack. At the time I had a very small tow vehicle and the factory tongue jack would only go so far up. It was practically 1 inch off the ground which wasn't good for my towing. I switched it and you can feel the difference in strength. very weak performance but it just barely lifts and moves. The upside though is that it retracts up and to the side fully leaving no drag and 100 percent full clearance!!! It hardly feels safe but for now it's working more or less. It hasn't collapsed on me so far. Hopefully i can get a new better tow vehicle and then maybe I might be able to switch back to the factory. What an ordeal!! Ha!
Great video. Glad you put that video out. That is a great idea that a lot of people can use, including ourselves. Happy Camping, Ben, Tiffany & Gracie🌸
Pretty clever. I put a flat plate on the tongue jack. It’s easier for me. I do have one of the trailer dolly’s, but mostly use it to back the trailer into the garage or to pull it out as it is an odd angle with the propane on the side.
@@GetOutBeHappy Glad you did, I could see using the tow strap for a few situations! I am NOT a good backer'inner and usually end up putting my RangeRunner side to side and then the canopy and Gazebo lined up to make it easier for my wife to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. We keep the porta potty in the gazebo and use walls to close off the canopy at night for privacy.
Thanks I cannot get my beds right because I need room to get up in the middle of the night they need a 10 foot model and maybe 6.5 feet wide or go 7. thanks maybe i can make this work. 73
I actually changed my setup to have the bed in an L configuration and mybwife andbI really like the new setup. I have not had a chance to make a video of it, but @RunawayAndSeemor3 has a really good video on their setup, and it is where we got the idea. With that being said, I have found a 5x12x5 cargo trailer that I think I am going to convert. It will give me 30" for a rear kitchen and 9.5' for a sleeping area.
I see their true colors are showing. They should post all these measurements on their sales page. One day when the customer is always right again maybe places like this will apreciate every sale large and small. 73
@@GetOutBeHappy well in my situation the trailer isn't long enough to do a L configuration, you figure a 30 inch wide bed at less than six feet long no problem there but to add 30 plus 74 inches that is over 8 feet. 9 or 10 feet long would do it. They are not going to do that for so few people. I would ask or rent a runaway trailer and go to their yearly meet. I could just go during business hours and ask or just call them. 73
That’s great! We switched to a propane fire pit last year. My wife has bad allergies / asthma so wood isn’t the best for her. Is that camp in Indiana? I’m always looking for new places.
You folks were a great group of people and were very nice to speak with. I'm sure it was nice for you to have such light attendance to where you could enjoy your day as well.
@@GetOutBeHappy it was, made it easier on us and the visitors to have good experiences. You guys were awesome too with your play by play of events as totality approached. In my video I posted you can hear one of you in your group calling out "Diamond Ring!"
I look at these things as things break, but it comes down to how companies take care of the issue. I am very happy with how they took care of me, and I am looking forward to having power for my boondocking trip this weekend.
Looking great. I’m considering one of these myself. Could you measure the space between the roof bars as well as width. I’m thinking about rigid solar panels.
Thank you. To be honest, as much as we liked it, we disliked it more. We have ripped it all out and going with an L bed design to give us more open floor space.
@@GetOutBeHappy You did the right thing! I made the same mistake myself. I came from a big rig trailer and I was trying to make it the same way with the tiny runaway. Yeah going smaller means just that. You gotta work within your new limits. I Had a massive heavy bunk bed thing in mine and found out it robbed all of my precious room. Ended up selling the bunk and building my own custom smaller bed system. It was hell but it's now a million times better and more spacious. Totally worth it.
The design looks great. Looks heavy though? Is that 5/8-3/4" plywood? Curious why not 1/2" plywood? How much weight do you think it added to the trailer? Folding and sliding it into couch mode looked so smooth and easy to do. Well done Sir. Thanks for sharing. Happy and safe travels to you both.
Thanks for the compliment. Yes, it is 3/4", I wanted the extra rigidity that the 3/4" provides over 1/2" that I would have to add extra cross bracing underneath. For me, I would rather have a little additional weight vs. the extra bulk of framing underneath, taking up precious storage space. With all that being said, we tore it all out and are rebuilding as a L bed to give more open floor space. Live and learn. LOL
This is where its at! Easy on gas mileage, easy to tow and backup. Heavy rain storm, better then a tent anyday. Built in ac! Easy to get in the back country.
Only halfway. I fold the pads at the head forward, and then when it is in couch mode, the back is twice as thick, and I fold the sheets so they are neet. When I bring the bed out, I flip the head pads back and then bring up the sheets.
We are going with some friends for a week towards the end of October. We have sites 94-96, us having 95. Good thing we just have a pop up because that looks pretty short! But the view looks amazing. This is a new place for all of us and we can't wait to check it out! Thanks so much for the walk thru!
It's a nice park, and I really like most of the waterfront sites. Just make sure you bring extra leveling blocks as they will be needed, even for short campers.
We were using a 2010 Chrysler Town & County and are now using a 2012 Subaru Outback. Both vehicles have pulled the Rangerunner without issue. Concerning condensation issues, we haven't used it in the winter yet to experience condensation, but I can imagine there will be significant condensation without ventilation.
@GetOutBeHappy Without ventilation? Just crack open a widow. A small opening. Add rain window deflectors (car accessory) to each window. There's a guy on RU-vid who did this exact modification to his Runaway Camper.
@@travelinman482 Installing a roof vent dead center helps a ton! A lot of people are afraid to cut a hole up there but it really works! Gets rid of all the smells to. Absolutely worth it. I can't recommend it enough. It's a must have!
@@travelinman482 Possibly!? O.o Though something to consider is that heat rises up. This is how hot air balloons work in that they cause rising hot air with a gas fire at the base. Ideally i think it will need an exit somewhere up high as an exhaust? I'm no scientist but just my best educated guess :P Your camper will out gas in the outdoor heat and probably pick up everything else along the way besides odors and moisture. Putting a fan on a wall sounds like a window would already do this for you on its own with the windows that the campers already come with. I would still recommend a roof vent personally. The great thing about runaway campers is that they aren't like typical RVs where you can't reach your rooftop. On your runaway you should have no problem getting up there and doing this kind of mod. Most all the major RV industry people put ceiling roof vents (especially for showers/wet-baths) so I think it's a definite must still. If it didn't work then I think it wouldn't be necessary to have on all those rigs but they all have them so I guess it's probably necessary to do? I was horribly nervous when doing this myself on my runaway but it doesn't leak when wet and it absolutely helps the interior air quality and utility. Also I remember in biology class that water evaporates back up into the atmosphere which then becomes rain again to fall back down. This is like the water cycle or something??? So yeah that's another reason why putting up a ceiling roof went would probably be the right thing to do in my opinion. I recommend looking up online articles written by contractors who have licenses for this sorta thing just to be sure or even some kind of published instructional guide that might give you more insight into this subject matter??? Hope whatever you choose works out for you though. Good luck! And remember you can always mod it again if it doesn't work ;)
This is basic information that Runaway should have on its website! A website that sucks, has zero information, has no detailed options list, nor detailed specifications, etc… It’s 2023 and I was considering a Venturist but I am having 2nd thoughts about this company.
I also purchased this canopy from Costco. Absolutely love it. Very easy setup and take down. Plan to purchase another(if still in store) August 2023. Covina ca
Thank you , I have this and have never opened it for years , today we struggled and found your video omg thank you it's up. Secret is go in center snd raise . Lol
