Common sense HiFi reviews and real-world product testing without the elitist attitude. If that's your thing, you've found your place. Welcome to The Vinyl Attack!
Thanks for your great review of this record cleaner. The use of carpet cleaner to look at particulate removal may not have worked as well as the vacuum dust. It is likely that the carpet cleaner dissolves in water and is no longer in particulate form once it is run through the record cleaner. The ultrasonic cavitation should be a powerful aid in dissolving the carpet cleaner powder. Otherwise, great tests and video.
Great review, very...balanced. I recently bought a t1. It's my first higher end turntable, and it has been a revelation. I didn't know a record could sound so good. I love my t1. Absolutely no regrets.
In the Discwasher days, the instructions directed that you slowly squeeze and unsqueeze the trigger so as not to pop the piezo crystal. Popping the crystal interrupts the stream of ions. Done correctly, the device works beautifully.
I put up about $150 for this and have yet to receive any information on where mine is. After many delays (it was supposed to be delivered 1-2 years ago) I have to get ANY communication from ANYONE about it. I even tried doing a dispute with my bank after no messages but they said it was still in process so....where is it? Anyone know how to contact these guys?
After seeing the review of the record player (extremely negative) I still decided to buy the Angels Horn 002 record player. I discovered a fantastic sound, a well-made, solid turntable and the noise of the engine... quite an inaudible whisper. That's why I recommend it for the quality and price.
Great Dac I'm sure, but the made in China is a problem for me. Just would rather support American made products as much as possible. Really like the Schiit products as an example.
I found this video after I made a purchase of a new turntable. Had been loving music for over 55 years and conclude I not a very smart person. I have gone the route of vinyl to CD and now digital on my I phone. Spent a good amount of money looking for the best method and now closing in at being 70 yrs old decided I had it already in vinyl. I thought my record collection was junk and went to digital years back. Somehow I got smart, bought a vinyl record cleaning kit and a new turn table. I need to toss a few albums but most of my collection plays great and the sound to me is better. I feel the turntable was a big influence and is the Pro Ject Debut model.
I’ve had a Quintet Black S for about six years now. I’m sure it’s past it’s 1000 hour peak so now I’m thinking about a successor. Looking at the EAT Jo No. 5, the Hana ML, and another Quintet Black S. Right now, I’m leaning to another Quintet. The sound is just incredible. After watching this video, it may be a lock. Just wish there was a shootout between the three.
Just bought one last night. Haven’t received it yet but I’m very excited. Also just bought Amy winehouse lioness 180 gram double album as my first listen. 👍🏻
🇨🇦 How you doin’ “Hey”… This was absolutely amazing!!! By the way “Habs” forever… And yes Quebec is proud of its Poutine!! Ohhh 3 years ago… April Fools, genius ✌🏼❤️ 🇨🇦
Every time I add to my music system, I play the vinyl record that my dad gave me 20+ years ago. If I were fortunate enough to win the Fluance, it would be the same… Simon & Garfunkel’s, Bridge Over Troubled Waters.
Great video! I would not play an album as it would be a present for my brother who is getting married later this month. He mentioned he wanted to get a turntable for a wedding present.
Hey. I 've been in this hobby for a couple of years only, so some help would be welcome. I like the idea of having seperates. At the moment am using Rotel A11 tribute. I like the sound, but 1 would like to upgrade to something more powerful and possibly midrange focused. am looking for an integrated without a dac, but couldn't find it. At the moment 1 am using MA Gold 100 5g, Topping E50 dac, but 1 will change the dac also to something like Denafrips Ares 2, or Gesheli J2S. Any help would be apreciated. P.s. Apologies if my writing isn't so good, english is not my first language.
In the modern era, you won't find an integrated amp without a DAC. That said, you don't have to use the built-in DAC. You can use whatever outboard source you'd like.
Nice review. I have the RT82 with an upgraded acrylic platter. Alongside the OM10, I also have... a VMN95E cart/stylus on a non Fluance headshell. Why not a Fluance headshell? At €30 for the headshell, it suddenly becomes €130 with import duty and packing/delivery to Ireland...no local dealers stock Fluance...so I understand them not wanting to include overseas viewers in their giveaway. You are spot on with regards to the tracking ability of the AT set up vs the Ortofon offering. I prefer the AT. Possibly due to the predominantly 1980's vintage records I play mostly. It's not a great amount of spend to get into that AT range of styli in comparison to some other brands. Next on the list for me is an ML stylus...and possibly a RigB body swap...see what all the hype is about.
Nice review. The first vinyl on the plus would be Supertramp , In the quietest moments. Pink Floyd ,Animals would cap the day Cheers to everyones choices !
Welcome back Chris! First album I would play on my new turntable would be The Band "Cripple CreeK" the same song/album i've played evetime i've upgraded
