There is a free practice test (paper version) on the Pearson website and a $10 online version. I took both of them. My university administered their own practice test also. I do not have access to that.
I just watched all three constructed response videos. Thank you for thoroughly explaining each one and for the organizational method you used to organize them.
Question for you: Is it possible to take the CR part of the test first?? I took this test and by the time I got to this part, my brain was just dead and I did not do well on it. I am planning to retake it soon!
Good morning, I took my test a year ago and I failed it by 3 points. I got really discouraged because I think I practiced and prepared a lot for it. The score on my CR was not what I had expected. Most of my teaching experience has been at international schools so it is a bit extra challenging for me to learn about Texas ways to teach and manage schools. Do you know of any otger resource that I can use together with your great videos? please respond soon, I have tovtake this test again soon. Thank you
When I was studying for the exam I didn't see much of anything out there that was helpful. That was a few years ago so there may be new resources out there. I heard there is a big community on Facebook. They may know of something.
I must be bad at this. I thought your videos were helpful but I scored only 2's on the written parts and there is no feedback as to why. Is there any study groups or places to pay for tutoring on this exam. This is my second fail and I keep scoring 2's and a 236 so If I can only get 1 3 on the written part I would pass. PLEASE HELP
I am sorry to hear that. I have heard that there are study groups on Facebook but I am not a part of any. Without looking at your submission I would speculate that your evidence needs to be beefed up.
@@tinaha33 There was a question on the 4th CR and I remember your video where you say do not get tricked and tie it back into student achievement. But it was about behavior at an elementary and the documents were just three surveys and a demographic chart showing that there is an infulx of spanish speaking people into the school. I tried to a tie the poor behavior in the building to students and parents not understanding the rules of the school so I created a reading outreach program to bring ESL students and parents into the school. There was no data to tie it to and it sounded like they wanted me to write on how to fix behavior but I couldn't shake trying to tie it back into student achievement. I wish there were test scores or something other than surveys telling me that parents and students dont understand the rules and teachers frustrated with kids acting out and fighting.

This is a great video! ❤ With beginning teachers they don’t comprehend that a TEKS “can” mean multiple lessons to discuss on different days, not all in one go. However, all the SE’s must be addressed like you mentioned 12:37 I’ve had new teachers try to fit all the TEKS in one lesson… which in some cases is possible but not all the time…😅
The most points possible to score for any given performance indicator is 4. Refer back to the rubric provided under preparation materials on the registration website.
Not being an expert in all content areas, how do I know which TEKS are the easy TEKS, verses the more challenging teks to cite? I don't want to look foolish citing the wrong tek as the easier one if it is actually rigorous. Lol
Good question. This is where experience comes into play. Unpack the TEKS that is shared with you. Pay attention to what the teacher spends the most time on. In your opinion, is that what requires the most time? It will most likely be obvious. Also, take note of the assessment. Did the teacher spend majority of their time teaching the skill assessed or something easier?

Hi Tina! Thank you for your videos. Starting the PSAL journey and have several questions. My problem is Executive Functioning issues. I am stuck as to how to present my data. Does it need to be qualitative or quantitative.
I believe that you should always present quantitative data and provide a blurb explaining what the reader should be seeing. However, you can take qualitative data and convert it into quantitative data if that is all that you gathered. You can format your data as a percentage. So you can male statements like: five out of eight students... did... Let me know if that helps.
I took the test using your strategies and OH MAN did you make it easy! Before I read the prompt I set up my question following your format for each of the four types of CRs. I know that I passed and I may have even passed with flying colors. Thank you

Sorry for the tardy response. No. I don't know of anyone who tutors for this. When I took the assessment, there weren't many resources available. That's why I created the video series.

My university won’t let me register until I have all of the materials prepared. I have a question about the character count- on the first text box for each task it says 1,500 characters. How many characters is it for the other textboxes to reach the 25,000ish count?
