Love my 5 channel amp in my Tesla! Planning on adding a dedicated sub amp at 1 ohm. These amps are rated to 16v which is awesome for the Tesla 15.6v accessory system. I've added an XS Power PWR-S6 and hoping it keeps the audio from tripping the 60 amp breaker I have between the amp rack and the Tesla electronics. I'm tempted to go with the 1500w amp. My Orion subs can handle it easy. The whole thing is touch and go but I'm testing the limits in an EV lease! 😂
Not sure what's up with the numbers, but this isn't true. If it were, then D'Amore must be the smartest person ever to live, since D'Amore found out a way to get more energy out than put in. What's he using, fusion?
I bought two 400.4's and two 1500.1's back on May 1, 24. Is there a huge difference in total power output by running the amps bridged to 2 ohms versus separate @ 1ohm each? Or is it more of a flexibility of installation thing? I was planning on running them separately to one Sundown SA-12 D2 Classic each. If you're sending out already modded HLC-2's, then I'd like to give it a try. I appreciate the lesson. You make it way easier to comprehend with the lab setup.
I PURCHASED THIS AMP AND IT SOUNDED AMAZING, I HAD IT PUSHING 2 B2 AUDIO RAGE 8'S. ID SAY IT SOUNDED JUST AS GOOD AS MY ROCKFORD FOSGATE PUNCH 1000.1. PROBLEM WITH IT WAS, IT DIDNT LAST 2 MONTHS, AFTER GETTING HOME FROM WORK , I LATER HAD TO RUN INTO TOWN, WELL NO SUBS! I CHECKED EVERYTHING , IT WOULD POWER ON, BUT NO SOUND, I PULLED MY PUNCH AMP OUT OF MY TRUCK AND AFTER HOOKING IT UP, SUBS WORKED GREAT, I HOOKED THE D'AMORE AMP BACK UP AND AGAIN NO SOUND. AFTER CONTACTING SERVICE , I WAS TOLD YALL DID NOT SERVICE ANY AMPS IN HOUSE AND I DIDNT GET ANY HELP WITH THIS NEW AMP I HAD PURCHASED. I COULD NOT EVEN GET A REFERRAL FOR ANYONE ELSE THAT MIGHT COULD FIX IT. I HAD ALWAYS HEARD HOW GOOD AND EFFICIENT THESE AMPS WERE AND WHEN I FINALLY DECIDED TO PURCHASE ONE AND HAD THE FUNDS TO DO SO , IT DIDNT EVEN MAKE IT 2 MONTHS, I WILL SAY , ITS A GREAT DUST COLLECTOR . IF ANYONE HERE KNOWS OF A REPUTABLE COMPANY , PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN TRY GETTING THIS AMP FIXED
So Tony.....question. What do clip indicators on bass knobs actually telling us? Bcuz I get clipping on my oscope about a ⅒ turn after my knob goes off? Why does my knob say I'm clipping but the oscope be clean?
I picked up a 660.5 for my 89 town car. It'll be replacing that amazing JBL Factory Premium Sound.. Can't wait to get this cranked up! Appreciate what you do.
I dont even get how theres 100 volts when like im at 14 volts. Man electric stuff never makes sense to me. Somehow I always end up with massive stereos and I can do some of that. Doesnt mean i get this amp stuff here. I just get expensive amps and decent subs and fuckin install that shyt or have it installed. Usually a mix of both.
JL have the worst sounding amps.. no soundstage at all and cost 4x's what they are worth .. had to say it! I have the Excelon XR401-4 (yes.. a Kenwood after using the JL XD & RD series) on a set of Peerless SLS 6.5's and it sounds wider, realistic and has some serious kick. I amp looking to use this E400.4 amp bridged to a set of 6.5" Anarchys... Tony.. does the E400.4 play at 12 dB/octave on both Low and Hi pass filters?
Okay. I'm going to start saving..lol. I'm currently running your E series amps. I want more power, but don't want to have to upgrade the electrical infrastructure.
After setting my my amps up and trying to go back to check the gain over lap - I do not get a distortion light on What would cause this? Alpine ILX-507 max clean volume to the amplifiers is 29 of 35 before the distortion light turns on Set up the sub amp at that volume and turn the gain up until the distortion light comes on and hit read, switch tracks and get over 10.x+ tried to set the amp to 7.5 and 10 Power off the unit and turn back on, play the test tone and distortion light doesn’t come on I know it appears to work on the full range amplifier when I set my front stage to 2.5 on the 1kHz track And I set my rear stage to no gain over lap and no distortion light when rechecking Any advice?
Great explanation on this….. so say I wanna run a few Brazilian amps off this like the Stetsom black edition 3Ks on high n mids and taramps smart 5K on bass how many volts can those amps take?
Now raise the DF of your A1500 and compare to high to low DF. For the sake of DF and comparative data it would be a better setup compared to a whole different amp.
Tony..ive been asked about my statement that class d amps output filters have a target for imp.. and I said if you vary from the target imp that the bandwidth suffers..I cant find your video where you discuss this. Please help..
Question.....This is a great video on the damping factor subject, but the fact that quite a few higher power D'Amore amps ("E" series) have 12 gauge wire connectors has me puzzled. 12 Ga wire has just about 1.6 mOhm/ft. I would think if the speakers were say even 4 feet from the amp, that's [4x2=8...x's 1.6mOhm = 12.8 mOhms]. Surely this resistance degrades the damping factor? And not to mention that with 1 Ohm loads, at say 1000 W, the speaker current is almost 32 Amps. I would think there would be loss in the spkr wires. I would be very interested to hear your take on all this........
Very happy with the 750.1 D'Amore amp I have, and thought the 660.5 would be a great addition to my system. Amazing quality and power for the price. Thanks Tony for designing such an awesome product.
