@@JustinWhiting9 Hi Justin, I hope your well. The Lakeland Way, sorry I think called it the Lakeland Trail in the video. It has a good website and I think it’s 144 miles, maybe I should give you a shout if I do it. Kind regards 🙏👍🏕️
Hi Dave 👋 Hope you’re well too. Looks interesting. It’s my favourite corner of this world. Sadly, I think I’m done hiking for this year. I had such high hopes in spring. Other responsibilities, I’m drained and just twisted my knee working under the car aswell. 🙄 On the bright side, maybe a day walk or two on a sunny winter’s day if my knee mends. Have a good week 👍
I could just see this little yellow dot in the tent 🤣. Loads of room ! I like the idea of inner liner, a neat idea. ...how did you have time to go to work Dave ! My tricky customers are the retired ones, they are always out ! I have a new tent coming from the US...soonish ! Take care Grant 👍.
@@grantswheelstohills Hi Grant, come on now you have me hanging on…..What Tent you getting ! What sort of work do you do Grant, sorry for asking 😊 Thanks so much keeping watching mate. Kind regards 😊👍🏕️🙏
@DaveGoodman1959 it's a Mountain Laurel Designs, solomid xl in silpoly. I've also own a Duomid. But I wanted something a little smaller. It's like their Cricket design, but it has a zipped door. I'm a plumber !
@@grantswheelstohills cheers for that Grant, I think that’s what Kev has a Duomid. Plumber, you can’t beat a trade, something I wish I had perused instead of messing about. Cheers. Ohh I do a bit of gardening and odd jobs for an elderly couple and got a plumbing job to do, just a little leak from the unbend in the utility. 🙏👍
@DaveGoodman1959 my Dad was admitted I had a trade ! I really wanted to be a chippy, but could not find anything. Went to careers center....we have a plumbing apprenticeship....I was not that interested....until they said it had free driving lessons !!!!! I sold my sole to the devil there and then 🤣
A great video Dave, and that looks like a great tent giving you a bit more room. Haha I could sense your frustration with wanting to cover some more miles - you do love your walking! Anyway, thanks for sharing, good to see you all out having a good time. Atb 👍🏻
@@HikingForHealth1 Hi Gav and thanks for watching mate, I certainly look forward to our next good hike out, yes I will have to be careful with the tent as your never sure what it can manage until you get used to it. Tek care and I trust all is well. Cheers 🙏👍🏕️🍻
@@jeffprice2210 well thanks Jeff, I had better start doing stuff on my own to make it more interesting 😂 I do really enjoy Steve’s company and I’ve done a lot of hikes with him this year, hey it helps me get out and about. Thanks for watching ❤️🍻😊🏕️

@@austieoutdoors9763 Hi Austie, and thanks for watching mate that’s appreciated. Yes Gavs such a nice guy and I look forward to getting out with him again sometime. Yes I do hope the tent serves me well and I love the room it offers. Tek care and thanks for watching. 🙏👍👍🏕️
Another excellent, well edited video, Dave. That tent is huge, and I can't believe how light it is, I assume it comes at a price? I'm not sure the colour would suit me, it looks quite conspicuous and seems to let in a lot of light through the fabric. But glad you are happy mate 😊 I'm impressed at how diverse your interests are, blimey, Morris Minor restorations, motorbikes, bee keeping and of course wild camping & hiking. You're one interesting bloke Dave!
@@Glossopwildcamp cheers Bryan, yes it’s my second DCF tent and I was initially worried about it transparency but really liked that straight away and now find a more normal tent claustrophobic. It cost with the extras £7.10 a £100 of that being tax paid before delivery. Yes it does look conspicuous but really no matter what colour a tent is they still stand out. Yes I inherited the cars and 2 bikes from my Dad but I’m really loving the Morris minors. I love doing stuff and it can feel a burden some times I think my interest in these things was why I started to feel I was wasting my life being at work, fortunately it was my Dads passing that has helped me stop work and looking forward to getting my pension next year though. Thanks for watching Bryan. 🥃🙏👍😊🏕️
Lovely new tent. I thought I was bad with me always looking and wanting new tents but I'm reassured that I've not bought one this year!! I see we share the same Theakston Tshirt! Enjoy your annual holiday and lovely update on what's happening in your life!
@@morgs4mountains Hi Dave Yes I never don’t visit to the Theakston brewery for a pint of old P out the oak barrel, that was a few years ago now, and unbelievably I’ve had the Notch for 4 and half years, blimey. Yes I really enjoyed spending time with Mark on the Isle of Man and I would like to go back next year although I will never come close to my Dads 34 times to the TT event. Anyway happy hiking. 🏕️😊👍🙏
@@twiggyescapes thank you mate, yes I hope the tent will serve me well and I’ll try not to get caught out in too much bad weather. I’m back in Edale this week with Kev and Steve and will be on the campsite Wednesday night. So looking forward to that. Catch you soon and thanks for taking the time. 🙏👍😊🏕️
@@SarahOutdoors1957 absolutely Sarah, I seem to have done a lot of camping this year with Steve and Kev which I’m hugely appreciative off, helping me more sociable. 😊🙏
There are a certain few on RU-vid that I consider ‘naturals’ at talking to the camera and making great interesting videos that you just don’t want to end. I think Haze Outdoors is one, Solo Summiteer is another and Chris JB is great.. and you Dave, you seem perfectly home chatting to the camera. Your editing is really good and all too soon, its over. Moral of this story is… make more videos Dave👌👍⛺️
Well that was an enjoyable relaxing watch! To be truthful that was the first wild camp video I have watched in a little while. Saw it come up on my notifications and said to myself this evening I am going to watch it. As for the tent it looks a cracker and so much space. Could not stop laughing at Kev snoring and the dog whistling (turned audio up lol). I'm sure Steve and Kev are great company for the night! As for me I have been so busy with managing a large development, dealing with four other businesses and sorting out accounts, and to top that looking after my elderly mum, making sure she is ok. I really need to get out, and have some time to myself. This video has spurred me on, thankyou so much for sharing. Godbless
@@mrnobodieswildcampingadventure hey mr N I feel for you for sure, it’s time you retired or maybe I think everyone is as old as me😊😂 ahh your dear mother, love and look after her I absolutely loved looking after my mum in her final years ❤️I’m out with Kev and Steve again this week and we are on Edale campsite Wednesday night, I wish I could invite you but it’s Kevs gig. ❤️ Catch you soon 🙏😂🏕️😊🍻
Your videos are always so enjoyable Dave, cant help but smile when I watch them! You are clearly properly chuffed with your new tent, and its great to see that too! Looking forward to our next outing!
Mate, that tent does look nice. I love how the US made tents look flimsy but are in fact really strong. I wonder when they say 3 not 4 season they are factoring in the Alaskan winter, which we'll never have over here. Putting the poles in for extra sturdiness is brilliant, if they snap I think you'll be more worried about where the tornado is going to throw you. Loved the music and off course catching Steve going for an ablution 😮. Cheers pal 👍
Looks like the three of you had a great time. Like the tent, Dave. Having the extra space makes such a difference on long winter nights. The design reminds me of a tent called the Phreeranger, made by a company called Saunders. I think they went out of business in the 1980s. I had one but it was a small one person shelter. Desperately hoping to get out more myself shortly. Feel so envious watching your videos.
@@frederickridall628 cheers Fred, yes I remember Saunders tents blimey they were the business and I couldn’t afford one then, he would probably have done well these days Yes the space is fantastic and looks like back out for 3 nights this week. ❤️👍🙏🏕️🍻
Great vid as always Dave. My Sea To Summit Alto TR1 pole snapped in the middle of the night in unexpected winds. Luckily Bradbury had his 2man tent so saved the day....

Very good , I need to get out again soon even though it's heading into winter , got new tent, new mattress, new allsorts , need to get out and use them
Good going there Dave. I agree it's a mission isn't it? You know to go as deep as we can with life and the trails and vales. A beautiful first spot. So, good to revisit some old brooks and or gullies - it certainly inspired memories of you and your dad. Yeah, cold is cold - I imagine he learned a lesson from that one. Well, good to see you hook up with the others. It was the icing on the dark peak cake. All the best. Mark
Another great watch Dave. I keep thinking when I watch your videos that I must explore the Peak District more. Its not exactly a million miles away ! Great evening camp spot you had too. Thanks again 👍👍

Fabulous video Dave, really great watch. I see that you have uploaded the video at 720p, did you record it in a higher resolution at all? All the very best to you. Bri.
@@Glossopwildcamp Thank you Brian, I really appreciate your kind comment and I can’t believe how many wonderful comments I’ve had on this outing. This one was filmed on my iPhone 12 Pro Max which I think is HD and I just upload it at whatever comes up, I don’t make any choices over that. I have noticed that it doesn’t seem to make much difference what you film in or upload at it’s more the quality of what your filming with whether that’s the lens like with my Canon R6 or the tech in my iPhone. My last video was done with the R6 in 4k but still uploaded at 720. Anyway enough woffling bolox. Thank you for watching and commenting Brian and see you on the hill sometime. 🥃🙏👍😊
