I drive an 09' Matrix with the same engine, just did an Injen CAI. Love the sound, you feel the extra ponies at highway speeds when you floor it. The 8-12HP they claim feels about right. Cheers from Chile!
It's all in what you've put in. I've completely gapped GTs with a supercharged 5.3. And 6.2 Silverado/Sierra with nothing more than a carb legal whipple kit are kinda slow.
Pretty cool truck , i put a transfercase and front axle on my mothers handicap fullsize van , i got the 6l80e and the 6.2 LS9 to replace her 5.3 4l60e when its ready , its still running decent so far ..
I don’t know why he would try to do a brake stand with the gear shifter and second gear because with the GM trucks if you put the gear shifter in second gear, it puts the truck in second gear, but if he put it in first gear, it probably could’ve done a burnout

The next step to get full benefits from a cold air intake is a larger throttle body which also involves a larger intake manifold 😊 then exhaust then a cam which inevitably leads to a bigger displacement motor...😅
I had this same exact model and year but dark green in color back in 05. I was in love with this car. That 3800 Supercharger was a beast! I miss it so much! I would buy another one in a blink if i could find it in this condition. Other then the ac going out and pulleys that threw a belly it gave me no issues. I bought another car my mom begged me for it so i gave in and let her get it. 3 years later the supercharger went out on it and she let it go to the junk yard instead of fixing it.
The oddest exterior feature, and also on the Buicks, was the smaller outside mirrors. The Pontiac Bonneville was assembled on the same line and had enormous mirrors.
