The sonic segment of the stage was... ridiculous... who knew that ball bounce, a move intended for vertical movement, is actuality the fastest way to move laterally
Hello Firebow59. I really wanted to download your Prison Lane Smooth DC Fog Restoration but you made it private. ; - ; Was there something wrong with it? Or is there an alternate way of getting access to the mod?
Hi there! I'm not the creator of the Prison Lane Smooth DC Fog Restoration mod, HoppyBoppyBunny made the mod. When I looked on GameBanana, it still appears public for me. I hope this helps!
Great Cannon's Core! I think with more dedicated biolizard practice to get sub 1:04s, plus eventually grinding for the Eggman section early clip, you might be a record contender if you ever wanted it.
Hey there! Apologies for it taking a while for me to respond, I've been quite busy. As for your question, I've gotten a 1:39 in this stage myself (which you can find here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G_6bFIK5EGU.html), which is currently the fastest time on SRC, but I believe I've found a faster time from someone from around 2008-2010 that gets a 1:36.89 (which you can find by downloading the file off of SRC here: www.speedrun.com/sa2b/run/zgnjwvny), although this time isn't on the Restricted Skip leaderboards yet. Hopefully this answers your question!
Thanks! I added the input display by using m-overlay (github.com/bkacjios/m-overlay), which is an input viewer for GC games on Dolphin. I recorded the TAS in OBS at about 20%, but to try to get the best video quality I could, I then dumped the frames and audio for the TAS in Dolphin and cropped the OBS recording to be just where the input display is. Then, I finally sped up the OBS recording and layered it onto the dumped frames + audio.
Great run! If you're looking for more timesaves, the last corner in the second tunnel (about 0:53 in the video) that outside line you took around the last corner lost a lot of speed and might have lost a full second. If you stay on the inside there and ride the shallowly sloped wall more at the end you can carry a lot more speed. Second half looks very clean, only major timesaves there would be adding a new strat like setupless snake skip or Hex skip. You probably have the skills to push for sub 1:20 if you ever want to. Anyway, I'm probably not saying anything you don't already know. Cool to see you doing realtime speedruns as well as TAS.
