Hey @Firebow59 this is unrelated but im trying to edit the sfd's of sa2 and saw that you were able to extract them and add them back into the game correctly, I was wondering if you could give me a step by step guide on what formats the files of the sfds need to be in.

To start off, you'll need to find which SFD file you'll want to edit. You can find a list here: info.sonicretro.org/SCHG:Sonic_Adventure_2/Event_List Next, you'll need a video file that is 640 x 480 (480p). If the video file isn't already in the AVI format, it's probably best to convert it to that before proceeding. You'll also need to convert the audio file(s) to WAV if they aren't already in that format. I personally use FFMPEG for this, but anything that can convert the files to these two formats should work. Now, if you're doing a scene with two audio tracks (e0411, e0420, e0429, e0430, e0524, e0532, e0602), you'll need to get both the Japanese and English audio for these scenes. I personally used a program called SFD Converter/Extractor (gamebanana.com/tools/7715) to get the Japanese audio track, and then I recorded the audio for the English track in the game. You'll need to also install a program called SEGA Dreamcast Movie Creator (gamebanana.com/tools/6594). Make sure to run this program in Windows 95 compatibility mode. Now, open up SEGA Dreamcast Movie Creator, and untick the "Use Identical Files" box. Now, if you are doing any of the SFDs not listed in the next paragraph, you can just insert the WAV file and the AVI file from earlier and click "Start Encoding". If the program gives you an error about "Multiplexing", you may want to try to convert the AVI file to M1V, make sure the video file didn't corrupt (I recommend playing the video file in VLC for this), and then clicking Start Encoding again. You should end up with an SFD file wherever you set it to save. Now, just create the mod folder (via the SA2 Mod Manager), the remaining necessary folders ("gd_PC" -> "event" inside of gd_PC) and rename the file as the original file was named, and you should have a working SFD. If you're doing any of the these SFDs (e0411, e0420, e0429, e0430, e0524, e0532, e0602), you'll need to instead select where your WAV audio is, change the output from Sofdec Data (.sfd) to Sofdec Audio (.sfa), change the output destination to wherever you'd like in the "File Name" box, and click Start Encoding. You should end up with a SFA file where you selected it to save. You'll need to do this twice for both the English and Japanese audio tracks. Now, if you're doing a SFD with both audio tracks, you'll need to download a program called sfdmux (gamebanana.com/tools/7313). Extract the files from the ZIP archive into the folder where you'll be merging the audio and video file into an SFD file. Once you have the program open in Command Prompt or Powershell, type in this, but replace the [Insert...] with the file names of the actual files. sfdmux.exe -V=[Video file name) -A=[Japanese Audio file name] -A=[English Audio file name] -S=output.sfd You now should see an SFD pop up in the folder. If it's says that the file size of the SFD is under 1MB, you'll have to try doing it again, as the SFD that was created is corrupted. If the SFD seems to be close to the original size of the original SFD, you can create the mod folder, add the necessary folders, rename the file to the name of the original SFD file, and test it in the game! Hopefully this answered your question. If you have more, please ask away! Also, I apologize for not replying to your comment sooner!

@@firebow59 Thankyou for the details. I managed to get it to work but for some strange reason the video starts losing frames most of the way through ingame.
