We know that historical archery, was archery in motion, fast shooting and shooting after moving target and it is well described that trick archery was once an integral part of training archery, to achieve the necessary manageability. We know many historical super archers who did "trick archery" in war.
Modern static target archery is good, but quite different from the dynamic archery of the past.
When I publicly began to say that modern archery is different from historical archery, many archers certainly did not get excited about this, and some say everything I do is wrong! But it's easy for anyone to find the truth, many of the most important historical sources are easily accessible online, "Maurice's Strategikon, Arab Archery, Saracen Archery, etc..
It's a mistake. The lever compound bow is Not faster than a super recerve bow. If a lever compound bow can do it, a super recerve bow can do it also. What Lars Anderson did actually was that he improved those arrows. Using those arrows he can penetrate the steel armour with super recerve bow!
"Big question is, why has it been forgotten today?" Bro most of us don't have the luxury to run around playing bows and arrows all day. Also people in the ancient world didnt have as many distractions as we do today. Silly question
