Super helpful. Terrifying, but landed this for the first time today at 43. Had to take a break and re-watch this tutorial then it all came together. Lean on the back heal! Thanks!

Man, I have been stuck for ages with my miniramp skating. I've been following along with this series just to make sure I'm not missing any fundamental prerequisites that might get me progressing again. I can't get this one for anything. I just don't not understand how to get back in. It's almost like you don't have to do anything, your back wheel just rolls right over the coping. I must be missing something. I feel like mine just hangs up and I can't seem to make myself trust it. Any advice by any chance?

This is an old video, but how much it is the coping reveal for a bigger ramp, like a vert ramp?
@jameskaul8932

Vert is a 1/4" reveal for the bonk up front on the face wall and a strong 1/4" on top for the lock! You calling me old. lol

I street skated most of my of my life but If a ramp was in my way I’d skate it just didn’t grow up when skate parks where around. Multiple knee surgery’s kept me out for more than 10 years. I started seeing other OG,s riding and found out I live around 5 great parks so I started park riding. I can’t do what I used to but I’m having a blast riding 4 n 5 foot bowls . These videos helped me get into it cause I only rode mini ramps but same concept but very different and fast AF. Thanks for all your help.

@vonbreise

You need to put most of the pressure on your back foot and pull your front knee up when you turn back in on the rock and roll. I went from ankle rolls to decked rock and rolls with this technique.

How does 10ft of flat work with 2’ height? In comparison to OC Ramps 2’ height 8’ flat (I think it’s 8ft) do you keep your speed well?

I am really struggling with the exit of this “easy” trick and I was wondering if you have any suggestion on mini steps I can take to overcome this, or do I just have to get the first slam out of the way. It’s the hangup factor that scares me. I have fs axle stall and all the other tricks before this in the series mastered . Glad to see your are back with new videos. All the best from a big fan from Norway.
@trogarmy
@trogarmy 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for messaging from Norway! I would just remind everyone that every tricks motion is the journey here when learning new tricks. With that said on the Smith Stop (as Jeff Grosso called it )we need to remember these things. 1.when approaching lip. turn into the stall on your back heel. 2. your upper body and front arm needs to be pointing where you want to go on the ride away. So just back the way you came and point to the ground not the other ramp across the way. 3. Once turned into the stall. pressure needs to shifted to back toes to obtain the stall and hold. 4. while this shift is happening your body is sinking down to regain any balance lost. 5. Your eyes are already moving from the coping to the ride away direction. 6. You are already breathing out and almost fully exhaled. 7. Then start your lift of your knees to initiate re entry. 8. Shift weight forward to front foot. 9. Remember to keep hands and arms low and never over shoulder height. 10. Power through the unknown of your first ride away (in my opinion one of the best feelings in SB). while sinking low onto the board to regain balance and next wall pump. Hope that helps and tag me on your first land if you happen to capture it! Ram It Down!
@thomajoh
@thomajoh 8 месяцев назад
@@trogarmy Thank you! After 700++ attempts in the last two weeks i did it without any slam. the lock-in was always “easy” for me but it was the shift of weight from the back foot to the front foot (similar thought as the fakie hang up/roll-in over the coping) that unlocked the re-entry for me, as well as the thought: “always fall into the future kids” 🤘🏻 40 year old skater that have been skating for 5 months following your tips blindly. I must say your tutorials follows a logic that really build a strong foundation. keep up the good work! 👊🏻
