This kind of style is very close to Unlucky Morpheus, check out this for example : [Official MV] Unlucky Morpheus - "Amaryllis" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RQpz80bu-rA.html
Hey man, just got recommended the video and loved the reaction! Some recommendations from a long time Jon Bellion fan: “Guillotine” and “Adult Swim”. But if you really want to appreciate the music, check out his “Making Of” videos. Those would sick to see you react to since they dive into the production side of the songs, and that’s what you seemed to be the most interested in during the song. Keep up the good work brotha! Looking forward to future videos!
Personal favorite JB track: Pre-Occupied Best one for his raps: Adult Swim Possibly best produced: Hand of God (but if you listen to that one, it requires the context of the rest of the album first) Nice reaction man! Great balance between providing feedback and just jamming to the sound. Rewound appropriately to appreciate the nuances 👍🏻
There are only 3 'E' songs. Thanks for your comments regarding the LOVEBITES community, AKA The Wolfpack. I can't remember which ones you've done but here's a couple for your to-do list .... This is such a good song. I love the harmonies. There isn't another E song, but I think you might like Rising, which includes a nice piano section and a cool music video.
Midori mentioned that Synyster Gates is one of her guitar hero on Marty Friedman's show called Rock Fujiyama. You can find english subtitled version of the show on RU-vid. In that, Midori and Miyako each pick up 5 guitarist who influenced each.
Please react to a Philippino family band MISSIONED SOULS (mom, dad, four kids, 10,11,14,15yo) AWESOME Journey band cover, "Separate Ways" ... (their other covers are all excellent , the lead guitarist Neisha (14yo) futur rock star!! and "Ice" (10yo !!) a bad-ass drummer!!)... ENJOY... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FjYMyvFpPK4.html
Yeah Japan is another world. When people all over the world have started to forget about rock and metal music especially the younger generation but in Japan you can actually hear it everywhere even little kids have been introduced to rock/metal music. They bring metal music on kids shows even though with a lighter and funnier concept, movie and anime soundtracks, game soundtracks etc. I think things like that are what make teenagers in Japan still very interested in learning and forming rock/metal groups. In other countries there are rarely any media either television or radio that introduce this genre.
LOVEBITES - Empty Daydream lyrics & credits: Memories I can’t erase still haunting me Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes Falling down Breaking heart A growing addiction Just let me go away Just let me go my way Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control I’m losing sight of me I’m losing sight of you I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will go on Nothing new, pretending not to know the truth Rendezvous, without emotion or heart I won’t show how weak and sad I am inside Even though I know it’s just silly pride Empty room Endless rain The end of a daydream You never call my name You never feel the same You never make me feel like I deserve any love I’m waiting for the dawn I’m waiting for the time I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal, so I can go on SOLO: miyako / midori / miyako / both Memories I can’t erase still haunting me Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes Falling down Breaking heart A growing addiction Empty room Endless rain The end of a daydream Just let me go away Just let me go my way Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control I’m losing sight of me I’m losing sight of you I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will… You never call my name You never feel the same You never make me feel like I deserve any love I’m waiting for the dawn I’m waiting for the time I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal, so I can go on ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: miyako & LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Clockwork Immortality 12/05/2018 ---
Such a great song. Great selection and reaction! Now you need to do the trilogy. Under the Red Sky, Above The Black Sea, and The Apocalypse. All bangers, only live versions on YT. Recommend the 2019 live indoor versions! 🤘
As if they needed any more proof they are the best band out there right now, this song is so good and it has everything and is one of their best performances. 🎹🎤🎸🤘🐺🔥
You've now completed the three "E" songs from Lovebites. All great songs. This one certainly had great vocal harmonies. I don't know if you caught the well known riff.from 4:32 - 4:58. Think Michael Jackson song. Another song I'd recommend for you with piano you will like - Lovebites - Miyako Piano Solo "La Campanella" - Lost In The Garden (Lovebites song Lost in the Garden with La Campanella" piano intro.
if you love their guitar work then the studio live performance of 'scream for me' takes them to new heights with a guitar battle for the ages - here is the link : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-46z-13l2oNs.html
Miyako's beautiful and haunting piano intro for "Empty Daydream" was from Rachmaninoff's "Moment Musicaux Op. 16 No. 4 in E Minor". I believe you've done all 3 of their "E" songs. Here's another gem of theirs - "Today is the Day" LIVE : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ruAm4zTCTn8.html
Just an idea, maybe you could put the link to the full video in the description of the short? I already watched it but if someone stumbles into this one 1st, it might help them.
Thanks for the reaction! Another song with beautiful backing vocals and a surprise from Miyako (guitar+keyboards): LOVEBITES - 'Burden of Time' (Live in 'Tsutaya O-East', Tokyo, June 28, 2018)
One of my absolute favorites from them. It's not often mentioned. I love the intro with Miyako on piano and Asami's voice. So beautiful. The lyrics are fantastic. However, what floored me the first time was the backup vocals. Miho comes in that first time (I can pick her voice right out) and she sounds great, and Miyako doing the higher part. Amazing. They're easily my all-time favorite band.
This is still my favorite song from them and this is the best performance of it imo. The whole DOTD concert is perfect and the only one that has my top 3 songs from them.
A suggestion for another band. I recommend you listen to the band Epica from the Netherlands. They're a symphonic metal band with death metal and prog influences. A similar song to this would be Once Upon a Nightmare from the Omega Alive show. It's worth listening to .
There are 6 members in the band, but in this video there are only 5 of them since the current drummer was on maternity leave. The previous drummer (and now second guitarist) was on drums on this, she is a multi-instrumentalist and can basically play any of the instruments in this band (probably not to the extent the others can, but still) and then some. They are amazing live with loads of energy and a clear goal of entertaining the audience.
This is a new supergroup, and an emphatic statement on the depth of talent in the Japanese metal scene. Most of the members have roles with other bands, so it’s not clear this is more than a project, but we’ll see. What we’ve seen so far is spectacular. The hook? This is a metal band built around a violinist. (The closest thing I know of is Unlucky Morpheus, where Jill often takes a lead role). Ayasa plays a custom five-string violin, which I’d say is metal. She is also the founder of the band. Personnel: Violin: Ayasa (currently with Morphonica) Guitar: Yuki (founder and co-lead in D-Drive) Bass: Wakazaemon (bassist with Marty Friedman and other projects) Drums: Mizuki (Lonesome Blue) Vocals: Akane Minato (x Predia, several other groups) Akane has a powerful, forward vocal timbre which is somewhat reminiscent of Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus)-interesting parallel since UM are also the big-name band that features a violin. They have posted several songs in very different styles so far, all showing off great songwriting, jedi-level mastery of their instruments, and Akane’s powerful vocals. They have also issued their first EP. Definitely a band to watch! Yesterday was the 15th anniversary concert in Japan. I discovered them in 2016 when I was planning my trip to Japan and found Wagakki Band - then RU-vid present me BabyMetal, which I skipped, then Band Maid that at first I thought it would be for a second or third listening and after this Lovebites and Gacharic Spin were suggested and accepted. Last year I got East of Eden, and the four of them are my favorite band: Band Maid Gacharic Spin East of Eden Lovebites in this order. Lovebites is the forth due to the heavy metal that is not my favorite dish. I am form the progressive rock era.
👍 Glad you enjoyed it ! GS are celebrating their 15th Anniversary right now - they are some of the most talented musicians you'll find anywhere and the energy of their live shows is off the charts . They're well worth a deeper dive if you get the chance . ENJOY !
