Domination LIVE was my intro to Band-Maid. Have no clue what happened after that but had no problems with clicking on a thumbnail that said Band-Maid. I do remember after listening to Onset LIVE that there are still bands that do instrumentals and now have been listening to them every day now for almost 3 years.
My first thought when BAND-MAID started popping up in my feed was "what the f__k is this?" My first song was Domination live, I was like ok. Second was Onset live, I was like, damn! Then it was Freedom live and I was like alright! I started doing full albums after that starting with World Domination. I almost exclusively listen to BAND-MAID now. 😊❤
I can't remember if my first was Domination or Dice, but I do know my third was Freedom. First time I heard Hate? was the studio, and I thought it was about in the middle for the Unleash!!!!! EP, but that's what the Maids do. They take a song and arrange it for live and make it epic.
I first saw Thrill... reaction: huh... that rocks pretty hard. Maids, eh? Second I saw Real Existence... reaction: huh, that's even better. Is this real or faked? Wonder how they sound live? Third was some random fan cam, can't recall the song... reaction: Huh, not a great recording, but that sounded pretty good anyhow. They absolutely can play live. Wonder if they have any live videos. Fourth song was Domination Live... reaction: Holeee foonoogalators that was one of the most kickass performances I've ever seen! I have to dig deeper!
I discovered Band-Maid in early 2014 and I've seen them live 4 times.....and plan on seeing them again next time they are on tour. Best music I have ever heard! Thanks for this reaction...Peace & Respect from Canada
My first Band Maid song was “Thrill” almost 2 years ago … and I fell in love with them immediately! Beautiful and talented. Rock fan since the Van Halen days and thought the best of rock was behind us. WRONG!! The best of Rock is Band Maid…. and I’m so glad I got to see them last year! I LOVE BAND MAID❤❤
The first 2 Band-Maid songs I heard, early Dec. 2021, were Play and Choose Me both live. Blew me away. I binged on every video I could find for a week or so then started getting their CDs and DVDs/Blu-rays. haven't had a band make me this happy listening to them since I was in my teens/20s back in the late 60s. Welcome to the World of Band-Maid. Enjoy the ride. Try Real Existence-Live sometime. An oldie but a goodie from them.

First song I heard from them was back in 2019 which was actually from a reaction video to their song "Puzzle" and I thought it was really good. Then I saw the live version of "Take Me Higher". It was the back and forth between MISA and Kanami on that video that got me hooked. Discovered them just in time to catch their concert at Mercury Lounge in NYC. Been one of my favorite bands since then. That's the great thing about their live shows, they throw in these extended instrumentals on a few of their songs.
So, to pick the song for your next reaction, I went to The Maid's RU-vid page, closed my eyes, and scrolled around. My curser landed on "Real Existence" - LIVE. Banger! That's actually a really easy way to pick the next one cuz ya can't go wrong! (Seriously, it's kinda bonkers how good this band is.) Great reaction! 🕊
I'm a Boomer who has witnessed the majority of rock history and Band-Maid is as good as I've ever seen. Yes, they rate up there with the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Floyd, Rush,... Band-Maid is that good. Their songwriting, their musicianship, their showmanship, is remarkably consistent and they have a work ethic of continuous improvement. While Band-Maid designed this live presentation of "HATE?" to showcase their bassist, Misa and their lead guitar, Kanami Tono at their best out on the arena runway, listen to the rest of the band on the main stage. You've got to admire that Akane Hirose's drums are constantly pounding away, elegantly supporting the entirety of the song. Saiki Atsumi's vocals and Miku backing vocals frame the solo's perfectly. And listen carefully throughout this song for Miku Kobato's rhythm guitar: her support of both Misa and Kanami's solos lends emphasis to their entire performance. Unlike prima donna rock stars, none of the members of Band-Maid insist on hogging the spotlight and insisting on being the constant center of attention, they take turns, they don't show off and over-power the song with gratuitous displays of technical skill, they dial it back to the support the song needs and leaves the audience wanting more. You can listen to "HATE?" multiple times before you realize that Band-Maid didn't play all their cards here; they left an immense cache in reserve. "HATE? was song 27 of a 33 song set list from a 3-1/2 hour long concert where you would barely notice a missed note. When you dig into the rest of Band-Maid's catalog, you'll be surprised at the gems of technical prowess they toss into every song. Miku and Saiki's vocal skills are extraordinary, it takes masterful breath control to do what they do. Akane's drumming is Charlie Watts just right and nothing more, with Neal Peart like unrepeated fills, while adding blast beats where appropriate. But then listen her drums during acoustic songs and that she nails that too! Watch Misa carefully: she does unbelievable things with a bass guitar and does it so fast that you don't notice that you just witnessed a miracle.
This is SOP, take a song, add on an extra bit, and execute the hell out of it. Every tour, 3/4 songs get that treatment. Those performances go on to be legends.
Even in America, the birthplace of rock, you often hear people say that rock was perfected in Japan. Japanese rock is characterized by the use of many chords and a lot of key changes (the same goes for other music). I've also heard people say that this group is currently the top rock group in the world. They have over 130 original songs, and none of them are duds. They're constantly releasing new songs. Thank you for your reaction. My first song by the maids was the MV for Manners. I was actually looking for material from Scandal (when Manners was being suggested) another good, but quite different, band from Japan. The MV for Manners was the right starting point for me but, at some point, I think you should check the online live with Manners/Black Hole (two sings). Don’t you tell me, latest official live, is really good though so stay with that. Have fun! :)

"Onset" has an official live... It's very special... Well, really all their songs are outstanding so you can't really go wrong.
Well discovering *BAND-MAID* in 2019 and *BAND-MAID* had around 20 Videos to choose from I believe *DICE* was the 1st one then *Choose Me* and then *REAL EXISTENCE* I don't know the exact order but it took me 2 days to binge all 20 videos. Then finding out that there was live video out there from *STUDIO COAST* and *Zepp Tokyo* the next day I went to *Amazon* and *CDJapan* and started purchasing their entire catalogue. ☺ _What was the question again?_
Band Maid are beautiful in every way imaginable! I first heard and saw Domination Live....Then Freedom Live. I was then afraid to listen to anymore in case I was disappointed! How stupid of me 🤣Dice, Blooming, Puzzle, Sense, etc etc I can't get enough!
