If you own one of these grand machines, don’t ever let it go. KEEP FIXING IT! I repair appliances and people that own these are laughing all the way to the bank
You said it. My Mom's maytag stacked unit is thirty years old. A month ago she heard a bang and it quit spinning. She decided to just get a new whirlpool stacked unit and shes scared of it. Since i bought the maytag set for her back then i just brought ut home with me to see if i could find out that happened in the transmission. A screw broke. I ordered a new one and replaced it. It now works again...probably for another thirty years.
I like the washers with the lights on them and the older ones with the timer knobs on them as well The ones that are older than the newer ones just clean. Much better than the newer ones well your clothes can smell like modu at any point
When one of my family needs a new washer, i find a kenmore 90 series direct drive set and rebuild them, im doing a washer in the garage now that was built in 1999
The TC5 is still better it lasts longer it is more ruff on the clothing it turns the clothing around better and it has better cleaning so I recommend the TC5
i like it because it has the older style speed queen curved control panel, i like how it looks versus the consumer TR/TC series control panels, if they used that control panel again even without mechanical timers i would love that!!
The 1960s GE washer that is still in my parents' home essentially has an Eco setting like my 2019 Maytag. It allows you to select the size load that you are washing and only fills the tub to that level. I can assure you that it is not computerized. On the flip side, my niece in Japan has a washer dryer combo where you only have to select the wash type, and the machine automatically dispenses the detergent can select cold water based on weight and soil. Clothes come out clean and sanitized.
I went to war with Samsung over that damn front load washer. It did not last a year. The weight is defective and Samsung is aware of it but refuse to do anything. Don’t buy it.
You nailed it.✌️ I absolutely agree. I prefer the older machines. We bought a whirlpool cabrio in 2016 and then three years after that it started leaking after it fills halfway.
Yale Appliance reports similar, that LG is among their most reliable. Retail shops sell a LOT of LG appliances, because of their price competitiveness, and any fridges from somewhere between '17 and '19 had the old linear compressor design...
We bought an LG in 2017. The compressor quit in less than 3 years. I Got it fixed under warranty but I don’t have much confidence in the brand anymore.
