The microwaves thing about the induction top is WAY OFF. No microwaves are produced, it is all EMF induction into your pan/pot and all EMF falls of at the square of the distance just like the electric lines in the walls of your house.
Just so people know, GE appliances is now owned by Chinese company Haier, but they still make large appliances in the US. They will be allowed to use the GE name until 2056. LG (Korean owned) has built a huge state-of-the-art appliance factory in Tennessee. Whirlpool (Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid, etc brands) is still American owned, but many people think they will be acquired by a foreign owned company down the road.
leave whirlpool alone. 90% of my job is fixing whirlpool. 90% of parts i buy is Whirlpool. 1st choice is Speed Queen. 2nd GE 3rd LG then the rest of the junk out there
@@jadeclairage Yale appliances has a RU-vid channel and they sell and service all brands (only in their local area), but they have good reliability statistics in their RU-vid videos. Their reliability stats are based on 35,000 service calls each year (all brands and all appliances). I am not necessarily recommending you buy anything from them (if you happen to live in the area of their store), because their prices are not exactly cheap (especially delivery and installation), but they have excellent RU-vid videos.
Problem with Speed Queen is that are twice as expensive as competitive models (that are comparable). So I don't see the benefit of having them last twice as long (even if they did last that long).
Wish you could include the prices. I was considering getting a Costco membership. They will not list many appliance prices and I'd like to know if they provide a decent price compared to Best Buy and such.
The advantage of Costco is that they extend the warranty (full parts and labor) to 2 years, and have free installation and haul-way. Depending on the appliance, that can save $100-$200. But they have a limited selection of models.
