sorry language: fuking thanks! its hard to find this in portuguese... now u can update becouse the menu of a7iv was update becouse the firmware 3.0. but i find and make the setup works. thanks!!!!
Ok, absolute life saver. My issue was I was trying to apply this to the graphics I had converted the subtitles too so I could do transitions on them. Now I just duplicate the subtitle layer in the event I need to go back to it but massive time saver when you have 3 minutes of subtitles scattered across 50 cuts. Whew!
1. Ok realistically, nobody needs 8k except people trying hard to sell 8k TVs. There is no substantial benefit in viewing experience over 4k. In fact, some of the most demanding commercial projects sometimes still use 1080p. Not to mention that supporting 8k will require higher megapixel sensor - which will not only defeat the whole 'S for sensitivity' marketing of the A7S line, but also sabotage sales of the R series and the A1. 2. Global shutter has proven to have higher noise, lower dynamic range, and much higher base ISOs - all of which are the big let down for most video professionals. Gerald Undone has great tests on the Sony A9iii to prove this. I would rather have ~20 MP sensor with 4k120p (no crop), enhanced AI autofocus, enhanced light sensitivity, much lower noise at higher ISOs, innovation with sensor that would allow something like triple native ISO, the fastest rolling shutter with less than 2ms response time, a color accurate high brightness OLED screen, and dual hybrid card slots.
Would be nice to get updates for focus on a7iv too. But so far focus works fine got manuce nice shots. It only has animal, bird, human focus. But I can always use manual focus point.
Thank you for this video, but my microphone doesn't turn on to blue, I don't know why?! Then my Bluetooth can not recognise it? Please help me what's the matter?
It might be stuck on some other mode. Hold down the record button for about 5 seconds and the blue light should turn on. Then you can press the link button to start the pairing process.
Thanks for your hard work this video. My mac stops running the updater App… after telling me the camera is connected and to disconnect. But when I disconnect the updater app just disappears. Maybe this is a good thing with the bugs reported. There is a version 3.01 but I can’t find any reports of issues/ bugs. Very frustrating.
I am having issues with the connecting plate. I used the screw provided and nothing. And When you start your video it already has the plate. I don’t know how to.
Great view Desiree! Question, can you lock the camera in positions other than horizontal and vertical? I'm thinking about getting it for Astrophotography, and it would be great if I could do it as say, 45 degrees?
Appreciate this video, and all your instructions worked just fine, as they always do. I did notice that Lightroom Classic now supports tethering to the A7iv via USB. It works just fine, but is not quite as capable as the Imaging Edge app. Thank you for your videos!!
I think i'll just borrow someone's window . or use the windows at the workplace to update my lenses. the body was easy . copy firmware updates to sd card and do it from there
Question… Is it necessary to use the Sony Imaging app? For some reason it won’t recognize my camera (A7Riv), and it’s kinda frustrating. I can tether just fine through Light Room. Are there any drawbacks to just bypassing the Sony app?
If you don't use the Imaging app Lightroom won't recognize a Sony camera that's connected to the computer. If you don't want to use the Imaging app you can use Smart Shooter since it also connects to Lightroom as well and it's a simpler connection. But it's a paid app whereas the Imaging app is free.
Great explanation! But why is Sony even doing this kind of fiddling with licenses and stuff? Do they fear some modder might find out how to implement these features on other models as well?
