Reasonably experienced flashlight user sharing some views/experience on a selection of Torches. Apologies a lot of the older videos are pretty poor - let down by inadequate camera's and skill in there use. The beam shot are much better on the latter versions.
hello I have sofirn sc 18, it doesn't shine better than ledlenser headlamp mh5, which has 800mah battery and 400 lumens, so maybe I can help there is no better quality than a flashlight with variable focal length. the lens does the job and I don't want to advertise here but it must be good ledlenser mh11 with lower power because these 1000 lumens are 10 seconds but 750 is still enough and the lens disperses beautifully
Sofirn are currently discounting the Q8 Pro by 45% so I grabbed one in 5000k for £35 including batteries which cost about £20 alone so basically getting the light for about £15 delivered. Of course I absolutely don't need it but how can you let an offer like that go by? I couldn't.
I’ve got mine mounted on the front of a high powered e-scooter so it cops heaps of wind as you’re riding at 30-40kmph which helps to cool it down. But I’m disappointed at how much it ramps down even though it’s being cooled by the wind.
Hi there, thanks for all the info. I'm looking for a powerful flashlight that can last all night long but I don't really trust what the manufacturers claim on their selling pages...Do you think the sd09L can last at least 5h with a good power ( maybe not turbo but "high" mode)? Do you see a better model under 100usd? What about canister/split dive lights? Thanks for your answer! Delphin
Honestly my go to floody thrower is the Sofirn SD09L. More of a flooder with a decent hotspot but extremely versatile especially since it’s primarily a diving light. For having 10kmAH dual 21700 light it’s very lightweight and compact. And only $45 on sale right now so that definitely helps.
I heard that the Pro (2) cuts max output when battery goes below 75% getting the user no more than "regular" high mode for the rest of the charge. If that is true then it is a big turnoff for me personally, and though I havn't heard what the Turbo is like in that aspect, I imagine the lower lumen output overall could circumvent the need for close to max voltage.
Sorry, but this lake comparison doesn't make any sense! If you light a dark wall you will notice that everything is still dark. Comparisons of both flashlights should be made in similar scenarios.
They tested the included battery with the IF30 and it’s really bad, rated at around 6A and the flashlight draws a lot more. Could be dangerous over time. Got to love the safety of Olight, they would never include a bad battery. As a matter of fact almost all Olights batterys are protected as a extra layer of safety. Add a nice holster, 5 year guarantee, much better driver, better buildquality.. I really like my Sofirns, but of course you have to pay more for Olight.
What is the small clip on the side of the Marauder Mini original holster? I just opened mine and cannot figure out what it might be for? Holding the charger all folded up? What am I missing lol
I have the plus coming in today. Will be the first flashlight I've purchased with the UI. Doing a little research on the UI before it comes in. Edit: Yeah the batteries that come with these flashlights are always over rated. I hate that they do that. Also it can be dangerous especially with the unprotected batteries. Yeah they might be good enough for the light they came with, but if someone tried to use them in another device that draws high amps, it could be bad.
This comment is from Korea. I bought the SP36 Pro 18 months ago. I usually use it when I go to the mountain at night alone. I think the short turbo mode time and severe heat generation are disadvantages.
And not to forget, the blf can hold on to 1800-2000 lumens until the battery is empty, just need to change the temperature Regulation settings to a bit higher value. Dont know if this is possible with the pro version, both have got anduril 2 but i am pretty sure the pro gets to hot to hold such high levels of output.
Nice review,I have an important and interesting question,do you know how many Olight 32650 6500mah continuous discharge batteries there are?Recently, these batteries have become popular🙂
Thank you for all the great reviews. Can I just ask please what colour Temp The Q8 plus leds are please. Sorry if I missed that and many thanks. Thinking about the 3 x 21B too !!!
Strangers in the dark must be illuminated to ensure they aren’t approaching aggressively with their genitals exposed. Great review, I just ordered this light. First time ordering direct from Sofirn, fingers crossed.
I ordered this before I discovered the battery issue. I contacted Sofirn and asked how to buy additional 32650 batteries as they will not last long with the flashlight's high discharge rate on Turbo. I also asked about a high drain 32700 I'd seen on AliExpress and whether that would work. Here's their response... "Hi. We don't sell 32650 batteries. We have checked the 32700 battery is incompatible with our IF30. Any questions, please let us know." They released the IF30 and don't even support its consumable component, and the weakest link in the design. They said I could return it to China but at my cost. Last Sofirn I'll ever buy! It's not even technically a 12k lumen light. I suggest anyone think twice about buying a Sofirn product.
thanks for the review looks Amazing , i just ordered one.... i got the acebeam L19 and L17 - and 2 acebeam A10 green and white and sofirn if 22a and a if19- sp33v3 -sp33s - q8plus is a monster sp36 pro and a CONVOY C8+ and lumintop GTA i like all of them but sofirn does have the better price and quality product cannot go wrong with a sofirn.. i had 8 eyes looking back at me the other night - deer i guess
You'll be getting an Imalent SR 32 next. Seems that's partly how this hobby goes, ever more powerful lights! That TS 32 impresses me for it's fairly small size given it's large performance.
Looking at this again as I just ordered a 5000k SP36Pro. I think this is the 6500k with the artefacts that I hope they have fixed some now? You'll have to buy another one lol.
You seem to have vanished? Hope all is well. I have just ordered an Astrolux EA O4 with 12000 lumens to try, Seems it's quite a heater if you amp up the output so will need to use that sparingly. It's one of those lights using some of these recent Chinese leds and has a very simple smooth ramping only UI so no clicky Anduril for a more basic simplicity. Apparently people are liking it. Big flooder but still almost 350+ meter max throw and cheaper than the usual CREE etc Astrolux. Due in a week or two or three .....
Ihre Videos haben mir schon öfter bei der Kaufentscheidung geholfen. Bei der SF47T z. B. hat mich das spezielle Lichtbild überzeugt (best of both worlds 😉). Das Video ist wie immer gut gemacht, informativ, und Sofirn (wie bisher alle meine Sofirn - Lampen) fast unschlagbar im P/L - Verhältnis. Freue mich auf weitere Videos. Grüße aus Deutschland. 🇩🇪
