If any one is wondering, the US carriers shown in the preview are (according to Wikipedia) Kadashan Bay CVE-76, Marcus Island CVE-77, and Savo Island CVE-78.
I have never even HEARD of the Casablanca Class Escort Carrier. I figured they would add Langley's (basically a converted freighter) or the Independence class (Whatever Taffy 3 Had in their fleet). That is one thing Common Naval History doesn't really talk about, Escort CVs. Probably because they were basically Naval Landing support ships, not really meant for Open Water Combat.
@@CmdrTyrael "one google search later" Oh WOW, 50 of them. That is IMPRESSIVE for a Carrier class. Then again they are only 10,000 tons fully loaded, normally a little over 8,000 tons. So Cus I should not be that surprised when a Normal CV is 30,000 tons or so (more so with Modern Jet Carriers). To be fair, Building Fleet CVs is probably JUST AS expensive as building a Battleship. So no Suprise Escort Carriers are built as a low Cost Solution. Sure they don't carry a large compliment of Aircraft and well they are Crap (Slow, exedra exedra), but better then nothing. Plus they kinda lay the groundwork for modern Heli Carriers (since choppers don't take up much space) or Landing Ships (the big boat that carry's all the stuff for the invasion).
Yeah.... Not sure why Carrier Survival did it that way. Cus once all the planes are ready on deck, they tend to take off 1 after the other once they are all spun up and have room to line up to launch off the flight deck. So they would probably launch in small groups if nothing else with only a SLIGHT pause in between launches for safety reasons.
Carrier Assault is a Go! I forsee a massive blue water battle in the future, and absolutely gorgeous cinematic moments. Also, a depth charge run on the Ryūjō (closest English Pronunciation being Ree-you-joe) is probably going to happen, let's be honest here.
I do have a copy of Mighty 8th, I had some device issues at the time and the game did not run well with my recording software + flight set-up. I decided to wait until there were some updates (to the game AND NVidia Tools) before playing it. To give it a fair chance.
@@CmdrTyrael I've seen lots of gameplay of the OG version, but last I checked a few months ago the redux wasn't really any different except the new graphics were unfinished and didn't match. Might be a lot better now. Regardless, I wasn't sure if it would be a game you would enjoy since you seem partial to RTS and Mighty 8th is a sim which is very much "wait, see, panic, miss, panic, die." You do like Boat Crew but that's obviously more arcade. Anyway, I'd be interested in whatever you come up with, whether it's that game or this new one you discovered.
I remember watching your lets play of Terminator RTS. It was very enjoyable as you can very well comment on the gameplay and decisions while doing them, so I would definitely like to see it for Regiments as well.
I tried this game several times through a few years and I just cant get into to combat. Everything feels very wavey and a lot of it felt like a grinder.

One thing about coastal gun boats is that depeding on the weaponry availability I will have fought the destroyers, but it really depends on what tier is the destroyer and if the coastal gunship have unguided rockets, good TNT torpoedos ,and a good caliber gun then I feel like a coastal gunship can take a destroyer anyday. What like to do when am facing a Tier 1-3 destroyers is use the rockets to diable the guns and Bridge, and with the bridge away I fire two torpedos and then put on smoke to make my getaway. Also use speed and cover ( landmass ) to ambush the enemy aswell. I hope this help any future captains of war thunder, and remember you rule the waves, not the waves themselves.

They should have used USS Salem with the twin 3" AA. That would take care of "poor AA". The 8" superheavy mediocre? Who modeled this game? Oh yeah, shooter games don't care about pesky historical accuracy. 😅
@garyhill2740 The 8 inch super heavy is a great shell. Unfortunately, the way they have implemented BB's means this cruiser has to fight ships with considerable belt armor at close range. So she can't leverage her ROF and plunging fire. Toe to toe with other cruisers, it's one of the best in the deck. Thanks for watching 🫡

@helljumper4565 for Japan I would use the B6N, the B7A or Kikka. All of these have the 800kg Bomb which is brutally effective. The props also have the Type 93 torpedo which is easy to use and potent.
The only issue i have with the deck is if your team mess up and don't address AA enemy units after early game, you have no other way to bring infantry on field but logistic truck.
@thedarkfurrygamer2633 british DD's are good. They hit almost as hard as a US DD. They have some major flaws (that will get them killed) but mostly they are highly competetive
Hello! I noticed you didn't suggest any american trainer aircraft, i was curious since i'm grinding its research tree at the moment. But if i were to bet on it, i would say you'd suggest the P-38 for props and the B-57 for early jets.
Absolutely. P-38 handles well but you need to be careful not to throw the stick too much. For jets, the B-57 and the F3D are excellent and stable platforms (F3D was used for the carrier scenario at the end of the video)
@wisnuhendra6867 make sire to turn on "Join match in progress" also try playing EU and NA server as well as these see more player even during Asia's gaming time

Good evening, I really wish they would honestly class that destroyer as a destroyer as your first match sums up my hate for AI targeting ship types (odd note targeting an Ayanami class Destroyer to call it out classifies it as a Destroyer an not a frigate) as that thing just gets melted by AA. Sidenote the Albatros you three fought might have been the Alcione as currently it hasn't got its own name in the killfeed. On the bright side of fighting sentry ships, most players don't ever fire off at 6000 metres with those rockets, but the few that do & hit accurately are just scary, but speaking of these ship types the SKR Groza AI just said nope to your torpedo at the start (I saw AI's sometimes are crewed by real officers as they turn out of the way of torpedoes..
I've been playing 4.0 a lot recently since it's one of my favorite br, but since gijin loves adding flat maps without cover, it's getting particularly stressful
