I've recently taken an interest in bushcraft but noticed that there don't seem to be many RU-vid channels that focus on the specific skills and techniques that can be utilized in Mediterranean environments. Everything from firemaking, water procurement, shelter building, and foraging can be very different from what we see in Europe and North America which can make starting out a little more difficult for novice bushcrafters like myself. Due to this I have created a brand new RU-vid channel which will not only help me further develop my own skills while I learn to adapt the fundamentals of bushcraft to more arid regions, but also allow me to share the knowledge that I have acquired along the way with fellow bushcraft enthusiasts.

I'd love to but I've had some health issues since I posted this video which has made things a little more complicated. I still go out occasionally but now it's always with other people so I spend more time interacting with them instead of recording.

Great video! Do you know what the rules are in Israel about dispersed camping like this? (not in a designated campground) Where are you allowed to camp in the forest like you did?
I'm curious where this was. I live near Park Begin in Jerusalem and was wondering whether that would be a good setting for this type of thing. Maybe with a tent though, lol.
@@BushcraftIsrael 2 more questions. I was wondering about cutting up fire wood. Is this legal? Also, what about knives. I was warned once by a police officer about carrying my folding knife, he said it was illegal.
@@whydoIneedone846 you aren’t allowed to do anything with fires on nature reserves or private property (without permission). You also have to make sure a fire ban is not in effect as well as only using dead wood. Obviously clean up the area after yourself. When it comes to knives, any knife with a locking or fixed blade (which is not a multi-tool) is illegal. However, you can carry them so long as you can prove you will be using them for legal reasons. Taking them on public transportation or into places like malls is not allowed.

Thanks for the video and route map! Was is necessary to obtain permission from anyone to hike this route? On your wikiloc map, is the area shaded in white open to public access and the area shaded in red restricted by the IDF? I'm thinking about a run there later this fall before it snows.
I wasn’t the one organizing the trip but apparently you are supposed to let the IDF know that you are planning on going up there. The base at the top of the mountain is more restricted and we just asked the guards if we could go in and they let us but I assume it’s very situational.
Thanks, just used this video to put some survivor cord on my EDC bag and it turned out great! One note for others is that you can crunch the loops down closer together so that you can't see the core strap underneath. Just make sure to use a lot cordage! The OP would have probably needed close to twice the amount of cordage if he wanted to do it that way.

That water looked refreshing and Israel looks like a wonderful Country with the combination of the arid deserts green oasis and forests, I have promised myself a visit for two years now and think it's time I acted on it. Please keep making your videos :-)
I love the mediterranean landscape and if I had my life over again, I would have relocated in my early twenties (I am mid fifties now), just for context I am Welsh living in the UK.
