F2P has me absolutely taken aback. I'm gonna have to pass. The fact that so many devs are going the live service route really shows how disconnected they are with their gaming communities. I'd gladly pay a normal $60 price for a well made Skate game. But I am in no way going to buy battle passes for some Fortnite golden skelly heads, and neon skateboards. I guess I'm too old at this point to see the appeal. It doesn't have to be a 1:1 sim, but I want that Skate 1 and Skate 2 feel. Skate 3 was amazing but it really started treading near THPS with the crazy huge mega parks and such. Not that it is a bad thing either. We'll see. It's free and it'll flop just as the majority of F2P games do but I guess it doesn't hurt to try since there's nothing to lose.
I think this will be a “try before ur deny” sittuation, i know i love the feel of earlier skate games, and as a kid didn’t care for the story. Only beat it later in life. They have made such nice promises that, we won’t have to spend anything to create a cool skater and an amazing experience with the game.. + look at how riders republic does their stuff, that works out pretty well- so im hopeful for now!
*It's not hard to see one of the obvious pathways they will take: Seasonal Battle Passes with designers, board companies, trucks, wheels you name it. It'll be collab city and you'll be paying for all the brands you got for free previously*

I have no doubts in my mind this new skate will be a flop. Free to play models are riddled with microtransactions and other predatory practices to extort as much money as possible. It looks like Fortnite with skateboards. I guess if you want a cartoonish arcade-ish style gameplay then go for it, if not just stick with Session, it has no equals.
I see ur points! But i remain hopefull for now! I don’t wanna assume that its a flop before its dropped, especially graphics wise since we havent really seen alot of graphics, we have just seen untextured playtest footage for the most part,
Was pretty excited seeing as it's coming to PC as well. But now knowing it is F2P I'm probably going to pass. I get that the multiplayer is a huge aspect of it but I'll stick to Session for the time being.
@@tylerangle2269 I will play it for a day when it launches just to see how the gameplay is. But I know EA is going to make it unplayable with the bullshit MTX they will implement.
@@Lattrodon Yeah it is unfortunate. Though we've seen what EA has done with literally every title they publish/develope. We shouldn't expect much from them at this point. lol Sucks that literally everyone feels like that. I remember back in the day PS2-PS3/Xbox-360 era EA really had some bangers. A lot of those old favored titles were EA. Can't say the same now.
@@tylerangle2269 Maybe THPS 3+4 will be good at least. Activision managed to not fuck that game up too bad. I would really love to see a more gritty skating game at some point. Bring back the heavy thrash vibe those games used to have, I'm not a fan of the bright cheerful look of Skate 4

People really do Gloss over Skate 1 and 2. Sure there online offerings weren’t great but the maps and atmosphere’s were a spectacle. Skate 3 is good but lacked in its theme and world building especially the district system (it sucked) Skate. (Skate 4) is a game I’m really looking forward too, so much more than GTA 6 🤣
I hope theres some other ways for them to get it to work, but in my mind- all i see them doing is a battlepass sadly… but- we can hope that- its not the case
I am sad that Skate 3 is the game people know from the series. They have completely missed the amazing game that s Skate 2. It is so much better than 3 in EVERY WAY. Sure it is not as refined, but it is realistic while still having unrealistic parts that make Skate 3 fun for people. No jumping across the map. Interconnected world, Guards and proper NPCs to react to skaters. The skating missions and are actually down to earth and believable. It portrays the skating counter culture much much better than this "skater's utopia" that is Skate 3. Its immersive with physics being much more believable and not as gravity defying. Also you need to move objects with the player character to make some cool spot to skate on. Its approachable but much more stimulatory than the casual arcade game that is Skate 3.
Skate 3 is only casual if you play it in that way the amount of good physics in that game is amazing the you can change the looseness of the trucks your posture and style also transition skating feels so good the grinds don't just auto lock you have to work for them idk skate 3 is amazing only gripes are the maps and the cartoony graphics but the skating is A1

This video was loooong overdue, but somehow this little 3 minute video, took multiple weeks of planning, scripting, then actually recording the photoshop part, then the in real life parts. Good luck on learning to skate irl, I’ve got a longboard that rarely gets used because I’m busy working and also it rains here a lot but this new year I’m making it my mission to skate more often

@@varialflip360 people do make wheels for more rainier weather it’s mostly just regular wheels with grooves running along them which help vent out the water so you don’t hydroplane and gives more surface area. Maybe you should check those out. I might buy me a set too
@@varialflip360 put the paper backing of the grip on top of the board then you can pat it down. i also like to got airbubbles out by rolling a wheel over it
I actually didn’t! I put one under the wheel and one over and then placed the nut on top, cause- that made the most sense haha- i just didnt wanna make a super long video, so i only showed parts here and there! Don’t worry! I hope u enjoyed the video anyways!
