i hope they get the sounds right. I want a meaty pop for everything and a meaty clunk for grinds. Skate 2's pop sounds were glitchy

Having played with a friend's playtest of Skate 4, I love it. It is still janky but it's coming along nicely.

I am sad that Skate 3 is the game people know from the series. They have completely missed the amazing game that s Skate 2. It is so much better than 3 in EVERY WAY. Sure it is not as refined, but it is realistic while still having unrealistic parts that make Skate 3 fun for people. No jumping across the map. Interconnected world, Guards and proper NPCs to react to skaters. The skating missions and are actually down to earth and believable. It portrays the skating counter culture much much better than this "skater's utopia" that is Skate 3. Its immersive with physics being much more believable and not as gravity defying. Also you need to move objects with the player character to make some cool spot to skate on. Its approachable but much more stimulatory than the casual arcade game that is Skate 3.

Great video. Yeah I'd say they definitely do work in this "square" thing, cause in the current playtest build there are flat ground areas with a couple walls and nothing else, so it's like they allocated space for where the next section of the map is gonna be. They just build that part of the map then move on, some parts were textured but not in great detail, some things look better than others but they would work on asset placing and building the entire map before making pretty textures and graphics. Hope EA don't come knocking for me commenting this lol. Not that it's surprising but imo this game is still a solid year or 2 away.

I have no doubts in my mind this new skate will be a flop. Free to play models are riddled with microtransactions and other predatory practices to extort as much money as possible. It looks like Fortnite with skateboards. I guess if you want a cartoonish arcade-ish style gameplay then go for it, if not just stick with Session, it has no equals.

No height in the map at all anymore, annoying cyclists everywhere and certain area's that you can only access with a verified ID that you are over 18? You know, with red lights? And endless FEBO-walls? 😂

F2P has me absolutely taken aback. I'm gonna have to pass. The fact that so many devs are going the live service route really shows how disconnected they are with their gaming communities. I'd gladly pay a normal $60 price for a well made Skate game. But I am in no way going to buy battle passes for some Fortnite golden skelly heads, and neon skateboards. I guess I'm too old at this point to see the appeal. It doesn't have to be a 1:1 sim, but I want that Skate 1 and Skate 2 feel. Skate 3 was amazing but it really started treading near THPS with the crazy huge mega parks and such. Not that it is a bad thing either. We'll see. It's free and it'll flop just as the majority of F2P games do but I guess it doesn't hurt to try since there's nothing to lose.

People really do Gloss over Skate 1 and 2. Sure there online offerings weren’t great but the maps and atmosphere’s were a spectacle. Skate 3 is good but lacked in its theme and world building especially the district system (it sucked) Skate. (Skate 4) is a game I’m really looking forward too, so much more than GTA 6 🤣
