That's what I wanted to say - he paints watercolor, not much acrylic :) But it might work. It's a nice tutorial. What I definitely learned is that I need a different brush. I know it's useful - but I still don't like lemon yellow. I don't have cobalt blue, but pthalo and not raw sienna. I'll have to substitute it somehow, I don't want to buy more paints for now.
I've always enjoyed watching Frank paint, but his little stories that he tells while he's painting makes it that much more fun. I also really like the way that they show him being out in the world to the actual locations that he's painting. He gives us history, humor, painting techniques, and most of all, encouragement. R.I.P. Frank. I sure miss you.
Fabulous teaching. You definitely make it look easy and I thank you for that. One question if I may. You put your brushes in water and I have heard that it can make your bristles come loose as they are glued in! What do you say to that?
I found Frank Clarke via a VHS in an op shop and what a blessing he has been! I am 53 and have just found some space in my life to dabble in Art which I find so relaxing. Frank's humour, warmth and generous spirit in sharing his skill and knowledge is gracious. Thank you dearest Frank blessings to your family and may you rest in peace . " Carrot ha who would have thought...."😊
Thanks for warning me about American money in your own humorous way, Frank, RIP! And I thought it was Canada that was stupid, which they are, and WOKE.
@9:30 Love the Irish music, so different to the equally rousing classical Carnatic music that I am more familiar with. Thank you for your many, many treats, Mr Frank Clarke and team!
RIP, Frank Clarke, from India. So cheerful, compassionate and companionable to millions worldwide, while teaching such a simple, wonderful art! Many thanks to all involved in this production, and not forgetting his late, lovely wife, Peggy Clarke.
In India, it's not turf, but cow dung. They look similar. It's collected and piled high, then shaped into flat pies and stuck on to vertical walls to dry. The bone-dry discs are used as fuel for cooking. They burn with a herbal fragrance because the cows have eaten a variety of forbs, along with grass. But only in the village areas. In more urban places they are fed nothing but hay, the poor things.
I found Franks painting channel by accident it was serendipity! What a beautiful tribute to Frank! He looks like he was as kind, joyful, funny as his videos and I’m glad I got to meet him through You Tube!

I'm delighted to have taken Frank's acrylic painting lesson. I'll be looking for more of his videos shortly. He was a remarkable man with an excellent sense of humor.
A few years ago I found the Frank Clark videos. I began painting along with them and getting my eldest granddaughter to join me. We enjoyed it immensely. We both got busy and hadn't had time for a while and I just came on this today. I am very sad to hear this news. My heart felt condolences to you all. I am so glad that we have these videos to still go back and watch. Frank Clark was a joy to so many.
I have always liked Frank's teaching methods, I so appreciated Frank for the person he was. I totally hurt that when I went to find him again that he was gone. I'll always remember him🙂😍🥰😘
He got me to think at the start of this video about the "Light" direction. Which made me think "L" for light followed by HSMF could be, Let's Have Some More Fun.
Gotta love this guy. The best tutorial and paint-along I've seen so far. I'm gonna check out the rest of his stuff. I've found out he's past. Sad, but he's left us with so much fun. Thankyou, Mr. Clarke!
A pleasure to watch and also I like your easy going manner, and the way you did the figures …fantastic ! None of my attempts to sketch have figures in them …….that could change ….thank you mr Clarke .
