I remember seeing several Japanese reaction videos where people watching Yuna skate were cheering for her to fall and break her leg, while cackling in glee at the thought, bizarre stuff. Japanese are always so polite to your face, but toxic weirdos behind your back. There's always weird anti content from each country, but it's so much more pervasive from Japanese RU-vidrs or Japan fetishizing fans. Koreans make up less than 1% of the population there, but there's a cottage industry of anti-Korean literature. They blame all of Japan's problems on Korea, with many #1 best sellers explaining how Koreans are like some inferior plague.
There are regular TV shows on Japanese TV where people laugh at funny videos of athletes, but I've never once seen a show where a skater falls over and people laugh! Besides, Japanese TV loves Kim and still mentions her name every time a Korean athlete comes on. Rather, Japanese TV hardly ever showed Kim's falls, only her successful jumps. The strange anti-content of Japanese RU-vidrs? Videos like that are just remakes of the same content and no one takes them seriously. Have you forgotten the news that Korean RU-vidrs made fake videos of Mao in the past and got hundreds of thousands of views and a lot of money in half a day? Korean figure fans are still obsessed with Mao and interested in her jump failures over 10 years ago, Mao's girlfriend and marriage, but Japanese figure fans have already forgotten about Kim away from skating and are supporting young Japanese and foreign athletes and interested in Mao and Hanyu's ice shows.
I am sincerely surprised that Mao, who is not involved in this Canada-Korea issue, is involved. First of all, Mao has been saying that she is looking for a Japanese coach for months before this problem occurred. At this point, it is clear that Mao has no eye on Orser at all. This problem between Canada and Korea was reported in Japan because Mao's name was also there. Mao's team immediately denied it. Mao's manager told the Japan Times, "We are very surprising. We never contacted him and never thought about it. The story is groundless. I don't know why such a story came out in Korea," he replied, denying that Orser will be his coach in the future. Mao said in an interview in Korea, "I was also surprised when I saw the news. I don't know why such a story came out," she said. And even if Orser is chosen as coach, Mao and Orser will not get along because Mao has a strong 3A obsession, unlike Kim who was not obsessed with 3A and followed Orser. A Google search for "真央、ソチ金メダルへ...タラソワ総監督+新日本人コーチ" and you will find a Japanese article about the Vancouver Olympics. Please translate and read. Mao's team would never do anything to provoke Korea. Mao and Japan have nothing to do with this fiasco.
Kim actually reached out to Brian Orser because she wanted to learn 3A from him. But because of her back injury, she wasn't able to train it at all and gave it up. According to an email Brian sent Yuna, he said that Mao asked him to be her coach but after Mao's team clarified the claim, it seems like Brian Orser really lied to Yuna. No wonder she left him.
In retrospect this seems to be the case, 1. Yuna needed more time to decide whether she wants to compete further on, maybe even more than Brian could wait. 2. Meanwhile, Yuzuru approached and asking for coaching him as well 3. This might have been up on the table during the talk between Orser and Yuna's mom, and of course it's not acceptable considering Yuna's position as national star at the time with the media have been feeding off from rivalry with Mao, made it all about Korea vs Japan that's of course amplified with historical background between 2 countries. 4. Orser may or may have not understood this extra complicated situation where Yuna was at the moment and interpreted the message as being fired when double coaching of Orser with Hanyu was an impossible choice for her. I need to also mention Yuna's sponsorship as an athlete wasn't grand to afford Orser to begin with. She had been in all the commercials and contract deals connected to her performance on top of all the attention from Korean media. She was under so so much under PR pressure. The relation between Korea and Japan plays such a significant role in this situation.
Yuzuru asked him to coach her after the 2012 World Championships, and Mao has said in an interview that she has been looking for "Japanese coach" since right after the Vancouver Olympics. fact This issue is between Canada and South Korea, and Japanese people have nothing to do with it, and there is no need to force it to be a Japan-South Korea issue.
@@user-kb9cg2xq9p You also mentioned Mao in "3." Mao's team was looking for a Japanese coach, not for Orser from the beginning. I think Orser lied to get Kim's attention. I think he thought if he mentioned Mao's name, Kim would come back. It is an indisputable fact that the Japanese have nothing to do with this Canada-Korea issue.
It wasn't karma, it was robbery. Yuna wasn't even upset that she lost the gold medal. She won the hearts of skating legends and the whole world that night. You call that a karma?😂 Orser didn't contribute anything to Yuna's skating technique. She already had her textbook technique before she reached out to him to learn the triple Axel. But all she got was him lying to her about Mao unprovoked. He learned his lesson and became a better coach after she left.
there isn’t much going on up there so I know you won’t be able to comprehend but nothing about sochi was karma. there would be a difference if yuna went down in quality after switching coaching but she didn’t. she had a flawless program and won worlds during her comeback. grow up.
I think there was some kind of miscommunication between him and Yuna, I don't think Brian had a reason to lie because he was still new to elite coaching at the time, there was nothing to gain by throwing the newly crowned Olympic champion that HE coached under the bus. Even though Yuna was still considering her options, she also had no reason to lie about Brian, and she seems like a genuine person. Maybe it's because of the translator, maybe it's because of the Korean-Japanese conflict, we'll never know. I hope one day they'll be able to communicate and really understand each other's side of the story
Hanyu didn't train with him since the pandemic. He was focused on the 4A so he was with his jumping coach for the most part. Brian and Tracy's video about his retirement kind of insinuate they're fine tho
It's a fabricated picture. It was concluded that the picture was manipulated a long time ago. The Japanese who made this wrong information are really bad.
There must have been some kind of a terrible misunderstanding for her to make such a horrible open accusation on twitter. Once words come out of your mouth you, that's it. The damage is done.
David Wilson spoke to the Korean media about Orser's revealing Yuna's new long program music to AFP. Wilson said Orser did not discuss his plan to reveal the music choice with Wilson and the news completely shocked him.
Yea. I mean he's knows the business because of his experience, surely he would know it isn't right to spill Yuna's program back then. I suspect it's all about money 💸
Well Yuna's team should at least explain their reasons to Brian as to why they want to split in the first place before the media caught up and everything escalated. And not making an assumptions based on rumors about Mao Asada. As far as I know Yuzuru Hanyu and Javier Fernandez are the longest athletes under his coaching, and in additions there are also Jason Brown and Cha Junhwan. So I don't get it why people discredit and treat him so badly about the whole Yuna's affairs.
Subject: rumours Date: Sun, 25 Apr 2010 20:46:04 -0400 Hi Yuna, hope you are well and getting some rest. i am sure you have heard some of the rumours that have been going around about Mao. I just want you to know that I am loyal to you and am always here for you. Her agency did inquire about me ( and team ) working with her, I told them that you are my first priority. I have to say that I was flattered she has an interest, but your skating comes first.
David Wilson spoke to the Korean media about Orser's revealing Yuna's new long program music to AFP. Wilson said Orser did not discuss his plan to reveal the music choice with Wilson and the news completely shocked him.
it’s also interesting to note that this entire split controversy happened on the day yuna’s ice show in the U.S. ticket went on sale, when borser expressed discontent via IMG New York
Well it all started Hanyu on the board. Yuna must be uncomfortable if Japanese media all the time in the club. Brian knows how Japanese media hostile towards yuna. However Brian’s point of view he can’t accept any Japanese skater cos of Yuna. That is absurd too.
the Japanese team took Yuna's coach, choreographer, and outfit designer i think that was the reason they split, the Japanese team offered more money and B wondered if Yuna's side would offer to pay him more to match that
Whatever it is, this guy is a coach. Kim Yuna is the skater. Obviously, there's no way the skater mistreated her own coach who's importany to her success. Clearly, the coach did something wrong.
It's too bad because it seems like it was all a language / communication mishap. Because Yuna's team had an English translator, and Brian did not have a Korean translator, he relied on what they told him and Tracy Wilson. He says they thought after the meeting with her team that he was being fired and that Tracy thought that too. So I would have to fault the translator (on Yuna's team). But it looks like that wasn't true because her team got angry he made a public statement that he was no longer coaching Yuna. (He had to since his other students had competitions coming up.)
All this video is spot on. I lived in Korea for 4 years and can read what the captions state. Besides, they are in the newspapers too! So stop whining, Yuna loons!
She had to skate with an injured spine, got constantly criticized about her back flexibility, and compared to her rival in her entire career. I doubt you would enjoy skating if that was you. Even Mao said she wouldn't want to be a skater in her next life. Also you said you believe Brian because he has no reason to lie, right? But after this interview, Brian admitted that Mao and her team reached out to him. Brian did lie and got caught lying on tape. So what made you believe his story and not Yuna's?
@@coryhawley738 What makes you say that Brian isn't honest? I think he is and Yuna isn't. Yuna lied about the controversy with Eunsoo Kim and Mariah Bell.
And Orser did NOT want to make written contracts with Yuna from the first place. It was made verbally. That was very unusual and he can’t complain about his contract because it was made exactly how he wanted. And he had blank career as a coach. I still don’t know why Yuna got him at the first place . www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20100826000873
It’s funny he plays victim. Yuna got gold medal and he knew she wouldn’t work for next Olympic. Then he got offers from young shiny juniors. Of course he would want to get them with more$$$$$ rather than staying with Yuna. When Yuna was in Canada for training Orser didn’t have time for Yuna. So Yuna trained with David and no coach. That explains a lot.
I think Brian is a kind of person that never hide private things, it must be his character, sometimes i found he likes to say something to express his mind without thinking.
lol I remembered this, it was all I think miscommunication. She being gold medalist with a performance that probably could never match she wanted to take sometime to really sit down and think if she wanted to do this over again another 4 years. But for B his skater just performed the greatest program ever for female skater, he was available so to speak. Ofcourse Mao’s group sent an offer, he never denied that. What he denies is “accepting” said offer. In Korea this thing exploded, the betrayal etc. haha in all actuality he was waiting on what Yuna wanted to do. Like he said other skaters were lined up waiting he needs to make a living haha. What he should have done was squash those rumors out right and be like I’m Yuna’s coach only period, and will remain by her side until she decides what she wants. He even was surprised Yuna had a “voice” meaning a lot of her daily life is controlled by others like her mom etc. probably influenced her into thinking Brian was leaving her. Sad really they both ended up moving on Yuna didn’t have that spark she had before and next 4 years was a shell of her Olympic performance, retired after the Sochi Games (those games were BS, complete disgrace) but I think Yuna was relieved and ready to move on from skating.
yes dear. She won silver in 2011 world championship, gold in NRW trophy 2012, gold in 2013 world championship, gold in 2014 golden spin of Zagreb, gold in 2014 Olympics :)
If Brian had trained Mao Asada ,She would surely be an Olympic champion. He is very intelligent and best coach ever.Yuna was so ungrateful ! She became champion thanks to Brian. I hope one day she could recognize that!
Yuna was already a great skater even before Brian. She only went to Brian to learn the triple axel, which she didn't and she left. Yuna didn't owe him anything. He's just her coach and she's paid him to do his job. Yuna also gave Brian good publicity as a coach because without Yuna, Brian wouldn't be a coach and Yuzuru Hanyu wouldn't even come to him since Yuzu trained with Brian because of Yuna. So, why should she stay with him if she doesn't want to?
@@celsdd6906a better example would be the medals she won after brian. yuna continued to win even after the split so that should be a bigger testament to her ability without orser
