This channel was created for Family and Friends who are interested in the work I'm doing to my 1956 Ford F100 Big Window that I got from my Brother-In-Law. Enjoy, Like and Subscribe!
What parts did you use for the PVC installation in the valley pan? Currently am rbuilding a 312 also and want to go with what you have for crankcase ventelation. Thank you. Great videos, Love those y-blocks.
Am debating about a similar issue on my 55 F 100 ..,Steel rims w Moonie centers . but now i see the trim rings ....Things are getting complicated loll heaven help the wide white wall !!!
My little brother Bill who is recovering from a recent motorcycle accident texted me he just went back and binged watched all your videos on the 56. He thought it was real neat to see the progress.
@@40gritgarage67 I cringe when we talk about his healing because it’s going so slow, he’s got a lot of messed up areas. He’s 66 years old and was still working.
Wow! You sure made that look easier than it really is. I’ll have to show this to my son , what model number is that Kubota tire machine? Ha. Keep them coming sir. I look forward to seeing later this year when you come through Arkansas.
Have you seen tow hook on front bumper/ bolts to frame 2 hole s .saw them on farm truck. Putting them on my 56 f100 . There 2 hole in frame for tow hooks front
The GM overdrive i had in my truck had a shaft that pushed the low/reverse slider into neutral when put in overdrive . Also when putting overrunning clutch together it was necessary to use a rubber band to hold the rollers in position .
Oh yeah, but there's still a dedicated contingent that seriously believe the Small Block Chebby was a communist plot to derail the Why Block. By the way, knowledgeable Y builders know the 292 block offers superior structural integrity due to larger main cap to block surface area.
Yes, Big Time! I'm almost up to 100K subscribers! More like 100. Sure would like to see y'all when I'm heading back home from OR in September! Should be round Sam's place late Sept, early Oct.
That is awesome! I've owned quite a few 56 F100's over the years and have two now. One small window with 223 inline 6 and 3 speed and a big window with y block and Fordomatic. Are the springs you installed the lowering springs or stock replacements?
The springs I used are from Eaton Detroit Spring and are of Stock Height. Called the manufacture and talked with sales. They we very informative when I called! Thanks for watching! www.eatondetroitspring.com/
I'm still learning about this RU-vid stuff. Originally I started making these F100 videos for my family and friends that wanted to know what I was up to on the family F100. Check out some of my later videos as they are a little better with a little more information! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z4VaCgWfSG4.html&ab_channel=40GritGarage and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cc9SECC2YSk.html&ab_channel=40GritGarage
Great video! I have the same transmission in my 1955 Ford Club Sedan and really like its operation and gearing on the road. I run a 3.79 in the rear end.
Great. Thanks Jimmy, I have a sneaky suspicion it’s going to shift a lot better than when I drove it. Your dad would be real proud, not just for your skills as a mechanic but for making the video also.
@@robertsprafke9376 The transmission is working great! The shifter works much better now that it has been refurbished! The truck is running good but I ain't driven it to much yet. Just haven't had to much time to play with it. Didn't get much in videos of the install process but video should be coming soon. I'll be heading towards AR late Sept early Oct. Love to see you at Sam's place!
Thanks for this video it brought back a lot of memories I inherited 56 from my uncle when I was 15 and it was my project and mode of transportation for several years until a car ran a stop sign and t boned it My truck like yours had the 2 barrel carb and intake replaced with a 4 barrel and the front cross over pipe removed but the manifolds remained and dual exhaust ran from them I really wanted a new set of manifolds or headers but couldn’t afford them I did eventually replace the 272 with a 312 That truck would run😀 Enjoy your 56 still the coolest truck ever made
Great build! Subscribed to your channel. One item you may want to investigate - those Mr Gasket fuel pressure regulators are known to leak. I would suggest you do some research on that, don’t just take my word for it.
Looks great but the can on the bottom of the fuel pump is for a fuel filter so you don't need a inline filter. I think the motorcraft number is FL1-A. Should have a spring under it.
Looking good. Your editing is getting pretty professional. I stopped by and saw Sam yesterday, it’s been really cold here in Arkansas. He was complaining about this and that so he was happy. I’m just a little confused with the original paint colors, the firewall is green but the cab floor is yellow? Sam and I built many of these trucks while we went to welding school back in 1975. We used pieces from several old junkers to make one. It kept us in gas money and food for about a year or so. Our dad was our biggest fan. I’ll send a picture of the truck we built for him if I can find it. By for now thanks again brother.
The Yellow on the floor looked like it was done with a brush. The door jambs were painted black. The truck was originally Meadowmist Green. The firewall cleaned up real nice! Going to try a Comet Cleanser and ScotchBrite pad cleaning after I get it running again. Glad to hear Sam is doing good! Back from Florida road trip, now to finish the engine build!
Thanks Bob! I'm presently rebuilding the engine. While I have been waiting over ten months now for the machine work I have redone the seat and modified the rear bumper. Send me your email and or your phone # and I'll keep you up to date!
Bob, I just uploaded two more videos. One on the shifting mechanism and one on a custom rear bumper. The Engine block should be back in my possession this week!
Yep I just saw the shifter rebuild! I saw Monica the other day and we talked about you but I don’t know if they have looked at your channel. Thank for keeping me informed.
Still brings back some cool memories. I just bought a 1962 3/4 ton ford long wheel base unibody from Sam and Monica. My plans in the far future is to mount the body on a late model frame motor etc. I’m looking forward to seeing more pictures of the big window. Take care Jimmy. Bob
Bob, I'm presently rebuilding the motor. The block, heads, crank and rods are still in the machine shop. While waiting I'm putting new bearings in the transmission.
Hey Jimmy great videos my son in law was really disappointed when I sent him the truck video. He’s been wanting that truck for 20 years. I haven’t seen you in so many years I was fooled by the old guy working on the electrical? You did good with getting the truck up and running looks great. Take care Brother. Bob Sprafke
Bob, Great to hear from y'all! Sent a few videos Monica's way during the process. She once ask if I want to sell it back. NOT! It kind of was a last minute decision to ask Sam if he would sell it to me. Had a great time workin on it this last winter and have been driving around home along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm living in NC now. jamesmshell@gmail.com
